In 2018 we lost many close games and could have ended up with 6 wins. In 2019 we won close games against NW and Illinois but we could easily be 2-6 right now.

While wins and losses are important, my biggest concern is that we are playing way worse in year 2 of Frost than we were at the end of year 1.

Hell, they're playing worse than they were at the BEGINNING of last year.

  2. Are the QBs injured so often because of the line play or is there more?  It seems we have a lot of injuries overall, not just QB, at least it seems to me much more than years ago.  Maybe not being in top shape, I have no idea.

    - I think our defense looked relatively solid against some truly awful offenses. Once push came to shove, Colorado, Ohio State, Minnesota, and now Indiana diced us up like it was nothing. I don’t think any one thing is to blame for that, but it’s frustrating.

    - WanDale is amazing. I don’t think I’d blame him for not running as hard as he does but I am real glad he has no quit in him.

    - Not to take anything from Indiana, but I’m not entirely sure the better team won today. I am sure the better coached team won. Not to say their coaches are better than ours but they were today.

    - Get 6 wins. It’s still on the table. Play as many younger players as possible at the bowl game.

He's a gladiator, for sure.  I thought the QB play was good overall.  The defense really needs work just about everywhere.  Still sloppy on both sides of the ball.

  4. It takes time but I must say I figured we would have seen more improvement this year.  It seems the defense is better but the offense looks to have gone backwards.   Like others have said, it all starts with the line, offense and defense both.  I believe Ozigbo is missed too.  He was pretty darn good.

If you want to talk about miracle workers, Bill Snyder had to be one.  KS never was anything, no tradition, probably the worst program in the history of college football but he had some remarkable seasons there.  I wonder what he could have done at Nebraska.

so do you not think the lineman at other schools work hard in the weight room?

Yes, but we were led to believe there was little emphasis on it with the previous coaches.  I'm sure they made some progress but they certainly aren't where they need to be.

I think Frost and the team will be fine but it might not be this year.

  6. Someone from Colorado called in on the post game show and he thought the altitude had a lot to do with the second half letdown.  There were many more factors but that probably entered into it.

I am surprised the OL isn't any better than it is.  We heard all year how hard they worked in the weight room and how much stronger and faster they were.  I can't tell much difference from last year.  It all starts with a good line, on offense or defense.  I don't think we are anywhere near being good in that area.

  7. Too bad they lost but what a fight it was.  Last year they would have quit.  The future looks bright.  I think a lot of recruits will be wanting to come to Nebraska.

Congrats to the whole team and staff for a good season and progress made.

  8. I still liked to see Rozier play the most of all the great backs.  He had excellent moves and agility, was very hard for one man to bring down and they usually paid a price.  I remember how, one on one, he would sometimes take his forearm and practically rip the opponent's head off.  Barry Switzer thought he was great.  Barry said Rozier would bite you in the face as he was going down.  On paper he didn't look as good as some, his 40 time, his vertical jump etc but he got the job done.

  9. Can anyone educate me?  Whenever I try to play a video posted in one of the threads I see a still shot of the video but when I try to play it I get only a blue circle with the play button inside the circle.  I am running a browser from Avast (free version) that has an ad blocker if that would have something to do with it.

I would hate to go back to my old browser since the Avast setup greatly increases speed of surfing by shutting ads down.  Would there be a link that I could follow to see the video?
