I'm pretty sure there is the potential that a report of sexual assault could be made to the school and they begin Title IX investigations internally. Meanwhile the police department investigates and either declines to charge or the individual refuses to press charges after the initial report (happens a lot). So, the school could continue their investigation and determine a Title IX violation occurred or likely occurred and report that to Frost who decides to suspend the players.

Mo's case occurred before he was student and does not not include a student of UNL. So, I don't believe the school could or would investigate it independently as a Title IX violation and thus is waiting for the legal scenario to play out to determine punishment.

    Nicely done

Maybe campus and Lincoln police are working through the allegations against Legrone and Hunt to determine if charges should be filed.

Not trying to be argumentative here but if they were suspended indefinitely BEFORE charges should be filed, what's the defense of Washington still playing AFTER charges were filed?

Take the law out of it and look at the two incidents side by side. We don't know what happened with Legrone and Hunt but the words felony and child pornography greatly skew what Maurice did even if that is technically what it is in the eyes of the law. I can think of many things worse than Maurices incident.

What could possibly be worse that they haven't been brought up on charges?

  4. Gophers looked very, very slow.  They have not recruited well at the QB position in quite some time.  I think Gophers fans should be very concerned about year 3 under Fleck looking like this in game 1 regardless of who the opponent is.

You use the term sexually assaulted pretty loosely.  From my understanding she was willingly performing an act with another minor that got video tapped.  That is not sexual assault.

I believe she claims she was coerced into being a willing participant and she was a minor.  And you might want to make sure that you have an understanding of what the California law on assault is before you claim what is or isn't.

The bolded is where issues arise. You can't just sit him for a game or two if his case is caught up in the courts. One game would work but after that you eitger have to play or sit him until its resolved. As others have stated, that is a bit unfair. I do understand the pattern of behavior, but I think the rest of your concerns are overblown. This I don't see going anywhere in the national media whatsoever. LeGrone and Hunts situation would garner national attention if rumors are true and  they weren't suspended, but this story doesn't have legs to stand on IMO. Child pornography is a very flimsy charge in this case and thats the only felony at play.

A coach can most certainly sit him for any reason he sees fit.  Regardless of tie ups in court.
