I question the wisdom of having Haarberg in the game at this point.
Yeah, getting hurt would suck. Guess it’s worth it for the reps against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Why run it out of the end zone?
Why not?

HH is like 12’ tall. I don’t get the knocked down passes.
On a different note, TC hurt. 69 down.

Not when the talent level is not there.
I think the point is, we don’t have the coaching AND we don’t have the talent on the OL. Everything is made worse and snowballs badly being absent these things.

There is a difference between losing by 18-21 and getting your teeth stomped in. I’m glad you’re content with being down 21-0 out the gates. You’ll probably give Satt and Rhule 7 years to figure it out.
I wouldn’t say I’m content with it, but I expected it. We’re playing a great team, #2 in the country, our offense has been anemic all year, and we’re down one of our most impactful lineman, our best LB and Singleton out the gate. To expect something else with where we’re at in this rebuild is a little unreasonable.

Yeah, can’t believe so many folks are freaking out after most thought Michigan would destroy us before the game even started. Isn’t this what was expected? Maybe it’s the heat getting to y’all. I don’t know.

I’m sure it was Singleton.

Our worst fear of injuries during a game we won’t win is already happening. Yuck.

I did not expect the offense to put much up on the board, but a goose egg? Penn State is a very good team and definitely deserved the win. Iowa was definitely over rated. The night game and the "white out" was definitely a 13th player, but I think the outcome would have been the same any where.
Be careful not to be too chipper though, as beating Louisiana Tech is not exactly something to brag about. You paid them a mill and a half to come into Lincoln to be a sacrificial lamb. Short of a couple of big plays, they were in it. Congrats on the win!
Ha ha, I don’t think anybody on this board is bragging about beating Louisiana Tech. If you’re reading around, you’ll see that most people actually think the sky is falling again. The only positivity from this group of husker fans is that we finally beat a team we should have. It’s a baby step we are all happy to take. Most of us expect to get manhandled by Michigan this weekend. I just don’t think it will be as ugly as that Iowa game yesterday.

That’s ok. I’m fine making fun of Iowa even if you’re not.
Same. I think runningblind is secretly an Iowa fan.

I hope you find happiness sometime today.
For real. My money is on us playing Michigan better than Iowa played Penn State last night. I’m not saying it will be pretty, but it sure as heck won’t be that ugly.

How’s Iowa doing today?
I just looked. 2 first downs and 61 yards and the game is in the 4th quarter? Yikes.

You beat Louisiana Tech by only 2 touchdowns! They were there simply because they were paid $1.5M to show up! There have been games where the Huskers were 2 big plays from winning and today they were 2 big plays away from losing.
It was good to see the option run, albeit sparingly. With that big QB, I would think that the option would work. It sure is fun to watch.
How’s Iowa doing today?

Yep. But TBH, the rest of the schedule isn't that scary. After Michigan we've got Illinois who has the same record we do - not easy but not impossible. Then we've got probably three of the four worst teams in the conference in a row (Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan State). Then Maryland, who's 4-0 but against hella crappy teams. Then it's just Wisconsin and Iowa - both pretty good but with some flaws. Think we can find four wins out of that group?
If there are people on this board who don’t think a bowl game is still possible, even with all our headaches on offense, they are just traumatized from the last X number of years. It’s very possible that we get 6-7 wins. I’ve said it over and over, the Big 10 West is terrible, and until we are mathematically eliminated, a bowl game is still on the horizon. Suck it, haters.

Can u bring in a whole set of players when you find the person to replace him? Otherwise it doesn’t matter.
If the defense could get so much better in one year with good coaching and schemes, I see no reason why this OL can’t do the same. Just need that coaching part.
-
They haven’t earned this at all, but it’s almost like the defense was looking beyond this game today. Maybe a little too confident? Good to get that out of the system now.
Also, we’re not putting much pressure on seemingly bee design, which is weird.

-
No pass game/protection, but we’re running it at will. Two 100 runners just about. Big yards per carry. It ain’t all bad. Defense needs to get back on track now.

Hopefully it’s just energy out of the gate, but this is not the response I was looking for from the D. Yikes!
