Yep, good call. I believe Nouili came back, but totally agree on Teddy.
I'm worried about Teddy's full recovery and where he'll be at as an athlete, for sure.
Really think we win a lot more games if those two remained healthy through the rest of the season. I'm super excited for next year. I think the amount of experience we are getting back puts us in a good position. Defense will be iffy, but I have confidence in it, and having an offense that can put up points will hopefully alleviate some of those situations we were putting on the defense. Overall, whoever we get at quarterback is the most important in my opinion.

Nice!
Down the stretch of the season it was obvious that Northwestern's front 7 just flat out sucked. They went downhill so hard compared to where their defense was at in 2020. One of their OLBs looked like he was actually playing the game drunk against us.
With that said, what happened in that game was blocking execution. And Martinez was making great decisions on whether to pitch or keep on the option plays in the first half, and along with Yant's great running we just broke their back by halftime.
But...almost nobody in the B1G played poor defense like Northwestern did this season. Especially not the teams we had on our schedule.
Next year's schedule is better and there's a chance we could actually win 7 or 8 games but we have got to get this offensive line motivated and playing with some attitude like they did against Northwestern.
We also lost two linemen through the Michigan game. The ones that changed the outlook of our offense a bit. Teddy and Nouredin both seemed to help the OLINE a ton, and we had to go back to our other starters after that. However they played magically against Northwestern.

Guys,
I think Kenny Pickett would actually be eligible for one more year at a different school as a grad transfer if he wanted it. Just saying...
Why on earth he would ever do that would be beyond me. Heisman season you go to the NFL.

My only concern here is that it took a few years. We ain't got a few years...Sure, but we aren't talking about the talent pool of UMASS or PITT. We have some really great talent, a great WR coach and potentially great OL Coach. We are going to have the most talented staff he's worked on in my opinion.

2014 UMass #78 27.3 ppg
2015 UMass #108 22.2 ppg
2016 UMass #110 23.3 ppg
2017 UMass #47 30.6 ppg
2018 UMass #35 32.8 ppg
2019 Pitt #112 21.2 ppg
2020 Pitt #58 29.0 ppg
2021Pitt #3 43.0 ppg
2021 is clearly an outlier. He's had as many offenses rank in >100 in scoring offense as he has had in the top 50.
So UMASS going from 110 to 35 and Pitt going from 112 to 3 is just completely ignored? Outside of the fact those are not talent rich schools at all.

Yet the results have been similar and even worse. (Insert little guy with shruggy shoulders and hands up)
I’ll exhibit optimism when it becomes warranted. Right now, IMO, the optimists are the loonies with no tangible reasons.
I'm not saying you have to be optimistic, but almost every time fans get in a tiff about something, especially as advanced as a coaching search, it never pans out to be what was expected/rumored. No one here knows what's going on, and the time it's taking just adds more fuel to the fire of people being speculative. I'm impartial to the length of time it's taken, because the results are not known yet. All that's happening is speculating that the everything is f#&%ed because it's taking longer than we want.

We just went 3-9 this year. That's the epitome of doom & gloom, and things like Frost failing to fix the most core elements of a B1G football team like special teams provides a lot of evidence that he's clueless.
I wasn't responding to the performance of the team, but the coaching search itself.

I think a decade + of incompetence on and off the field proves evidence enough.
You can't compare the past to now, it's completely different people at the helm.

more likely we will get a young guy from a non Power 5 group or maybe a unproven developing assistant.
i think Trev made a compromised choice and it won't likely turn out well. the longer we wait, the less we have to expect.
just getting a dedicated ST coach and a real kicker would help.
The entire fanbase is doom and gloom with 0 evidence of something going wrong. Take a chill pill. It's going to be alright.

Sam dropping a nugget on his podcast that we may get a OL/OC combo coach and Frost takes over coaching QBs. That would allow Beckton to stay at only TE, and us to hire a RB, WR, and ST coach.
Bill Callahan?

If Willy Korn comes here, would not be surprised to see it as a way to get Chadwell if Frost does horrible next year. I'd love it, but I know others are wary of the G5 coaches.

I'm from North Platte. Woodhead was passed up on because of his size. I watched him in high school and it was amazing to me no one wanted him in DI. BUT that was how it was back then. People were very tied to size of running backs. Still are a bit, but it's been proven small guys fit into schemes at higher levels thanks to a few people in the NFL. I don't think it necessarily coordinates, but I don't think it's necessarily a great get. You're telling me Smothers and Harberg wouldn't be in that running if they played DII?
