In that game, Rutgers held Penn State to 29 percent shooting and limited D.J. Newbill, the Big Ten’s leading scorer, to just 14 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Kadeem Jack paced the Scarlet Knights with 12 points and 11 boards, while Myles Mack added 10 points and seven rebounds. Second-year head coach Eddie Jordan was one of the greatest players in program history, helping Rutgers to a Final Four in 1976. He finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in both assists (585) and steals (220) and was an honorable-mention All-American in 1977. Jordan, who was a former assistant at Rutgers and Boston College, did most of his coaching in the NBA, and coached nine years in the league with stints in Sacramento (1996-98), Washington (2003-09) and Philadelphia (2009-10). The Hawkeyes have road wins over North Carolina and OSU while all four of their losses have been to teams in the rankings at some point during the season (Texas, Syracuse, Iowa State and Northern Iowa). The Hawkeyes brought back three starters and 10 lettermen for Head Coach Fran McCaffery, who is in his fifth season at Iowa after serving stints at Lehigh, UNC Greensboro and Siena. The Hawkeyes went 20-13 before losing to Tennessee in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Iowa has been tough at home this season, going 8-1 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes are one of the deeper teams in the Big Ten as 10 players average at least 10 minutes per game while no player averages 30 minutes per contest. Iowa features seven players who average at least 5.0 points per game. Senior forward Aaron White leads Iowa in both scoring (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg) while junior forward Jarrod Uthoff chips in 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. The Hawkeyes are a solid defensive team, holding opponents to 37 percent shooting and blocking 5.5 shots per game to rank second in the conference.

Lol, really? I'm not even comparing Bo and Tim. I didn't say a word about Bo. I just said Tim Miles doesn't go on sideline tirades and/or act like an idiot. He was ejected from an NCAA tournament game for pointing out an official's error who then had a quick trigger and hit him with the technical. Because football is tradition rich while basketball has largely been the forgotten stepson of Nebraska athletics. Because no one even expected a tournament appearance until maybe, if we're lucky, the 2015-16 season when he was hired. Because this is his third season and many of his true recruits have yet to hit the floor in a Nebraska uniform. No one is "getting away" with anything. This is an ongoing project. Probably true, I'm a pu&&y IRL Done and done.

I could count on one hand the amount of sideline tirades Tim Miles has gone on even if I had three fingers and my thumb amputated. Hopefully, they'd leave the middle one be so I could use it when I see Eagle1.

The Hoosiers are playing their first road game of the season on Wednesday. This too. Just because we had a tourney team last year does not automatically make us a good team. The potential is certainly there but the expectations are probably too high. Miles said himself after the Baylor game that he thought we were a year off from being in the NCAAs so there's still room for this team to grow. I like what Minnesota_husker said in the GT about Petteway and it's true for this team in general. When we get hot, we're hot but if things are going bad we're ice cold in a hurry. Some forward momentum would go a long way for these guys.

I don't think there's a reason for panic, even if this season ends poorly and with us missing the tournament and ending in the cellar of the B1G. However, there are things that can change to have a successful season. A lot of those reasons have been listed above and I'm certainly no basketball coach and won't tell Coach Miles how to do his job. Things I know, though, we're lacking a true point and a true post presence. Now, on the latter, we've got two of our guys on the mend. Leslee and Moses should be back soon and will help not only on defense with rebounding but also on offense by creating space and letting Walt play the 4 like he should be. On the former, Tarin Smith is doing a better job of improving and being able to fill that role but he's still learning out there. Tai hasn't lived up to the hype we built for him but is still good enough to be on the floor at the 2. Benny sliding back into the 6th man role with Tarin getting better would be great. Things I think I know, this team isn't loose. Quite the opposite, they look too tight. Too afraid to make mistakes. The expectations from last season are weighing on their minds. Athletics are about rising to expectations and overcoming adversity. If there's anyone out there that can teach a group of young men to do that, I think that'd be Tim Miles. TL;DR: We should build a new arena because obviously that was the only thing we had going for us last season and that's why we suck again.
