Jesus dude- read the thread on back up qbs- every #2 guy transfers cuz they wanna be a starter. Sometimes it works for them (Vedral) sometimes it doesnt- McCaffery/ Gebbia. We don't have a legit #2 not because of lack of development, but because of the nature of the individuals who play the QB position. No one who takes on that role says - hey I want to be the #2 qb, and I'll wait my turn to be #1.

     Not true at all

plenty of 3 and 4 star kids are willing to wait 2 years to start and play when the other guy is banged up before then. Unfortunately our coach doesn’t believe in sitting guys who are so banged up they can’t run the offense. So smothers has had to sit and we haven’t been able to see the handiwork super Mario has Been supposedly coaching up with our backups.

    Dude

we have Three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster right now. None of them I guess are worth a darn. We really don’t know because Frost won’t play Smothers-the 4th best dual threat Qb in the country 3 years ago

and if we didn’t have the talent, why not go into the portal and pick up another quarterback?

how many times in the last 4 years have we gotten beat by a second or third team quarterback who had a record day against us?? But I guess Nebraska had some excuse why we can’t -

The one to Toure should have been caught.

    never touched his hands

The kid threw 4 interceptions and totally blew several very open touchdown throws. He only plays well when it doesn’t count for anything

He did another one of those backyard football turnovers we were promised wouldn’t happen with a 4 year starter

Hes not a winner and if our coaching staff doesn’t have anyone else ready to go that is on them

How many times in the last 4 years have we been torched by a second or third team quArteback? It’s time to turn the page on Martinez and this coaching staff every single legitimate metric points to it

Frost doesn't comment on injuries does he? Yant roll and ankle or take a shot to the head we don't know about? QB needs time to get the ball to Betts.

There were plenty of times Martinez had 5-6 seconds to throw. And when he did throw, lots of times just yipped them- 2 sure touchdown throws

youre right despite all logic and historical statistics and trends. I believe that Frost is the next TO

    Well

At the end of Frosts 4 seasons he will have more league losses than Osborne did in 25 seasons.

if Scott can win 250 league games in a row with no losses over the next 21 seasons he will tie Tom Osborne more or less. That may be kind of tough- but I’m guessing several of the hard core Frost guys will lay out a path. That’s about 13 league wins per season- not sure how he gets there with us winning just 1-3 league games a year right now.

Yep all it takes is getting another kicker out of the portal, a couple of offensive tackles and another year of Martinez getting coached up by Super Mario and we’re home free.

Yes, the Big 10 kicker of the year suddenly becoming the worst kicker on the team is systemic??? You can't replace the problems if you  don't have quality depth behind them. We are just getting to the point of having quality depth.

The coaching staff put in a backup who hit all his kicks against Purdue.

recruiting and developing players in on the coaching staff, it’s literally part of their job description. Then they have to have the skills to determine who plays.

We have 24. Four star players. Purdue and Illinois have less than ten. It’s a coaching problem.

  7. Can all the guys who were posting all the obscure stats about how good this team really was and how much improved Martinez was and was going to get NFL looks just take a seat or put some kind of asterisk next to your name?

Because you were wrong- dead wrong and your opinions about serious Husker matters should be taken with a huge grain of salt or ignored completely.

This is a 3 win team with bad coaching, bad fundamentals and a bad quarterback and that’s all that really ever matters now

I listed the main deficiencies as the Kicker, the punters, and two linemen. Punter singlehandedly cost us the Michigan State came. There is one, the kicker's inability to reliably make a field goal cost us several 1) by kicks actually missed- 2) by us going for it on 4th, when a reliable field goal was the better play- this cost us at least 2 games, and the offensive line giving up the all the sacks and qb pressures as well as how many false start penalties that killed drives- they cost us the rest.

At the end of the day this is a systemic problem. You solve one problem another one is there- the proverbial Dutch boy with his finger in the dike problem. Well coached teams in the aggregate don’t have multiple players consistently making those types of errors.
