  1. What would we do without this guy. he had 17 tackles today and didn't allow Brad Smithi to run wild.

And hummmmmmmm, did Cosgrove's defense work better than Pelini's??? Huskers did a lot better this year and that includes an imp[roved Mizzoui offense

  2. Bash him all you want, but he "gained" alot of field pos. by making some tough catches in traffic. A catch and no return is better than letting it drop and rolling 10-15 yards like Mizzou kept doing. If Mizzou would have had Panico they would have had at least 40 more yards of field position. They are "hidden" yards that don't show up on any stat sheet, but they are crucial in a defensive struggle like today.

  3. I only saw the fourth quarter because I was at practice with my youth football team. I loved the announcers comment that Brad Smith would be spending quite a bit of time in whirlpool tomorrow. We must have laid some serious hits on him. I was concerned about some of the play of our d.b.'s on the last drive that put Miz 1st and goal. Granted the first P.I. call was bull, but we were not FINISHING. Mcpherson concerned me a bit (fell down in the end zone leaving receiver wide open). That last drive had nothing to do with schemes, but rather obvious player breakdowns. We have to ride this wave of momentum through the rest of the season.

    GBR...for better or worse!

p.s. Pelini and co. got lucky against Ok St. (gave up 35 points).

I 'll tell you what Brad Smith is a tough kid. Huskers hit him hard today..

    Final score OU 38 OST35????????

  4. I agree. The pass rush from the front 4 has been poor for the most part and yea, it does look like we are rushing straight ahead. Our guys can't shake the linemen fast enough. Would some stunts help with that? Has anyone else noticed that is seems Titus has gotten FAT?

I still think we should be blitzing more in certain situations.

I think the game plan was to make Smith beat us with his arm, and not allow him any room at all. By not stunting and rush ing straigh tahead, they accomplished their goal.

  5. There were a few time that it seemed we couldn't get any pressure, but I beleive this can be related back to the game plan. Most times the front four were simply using a power rush. Straight ahead. Instead of swim moves and pressuring from the outside to avoid leaving their area so that Smith couldn't take off. Smith didn't have a lot of opportunitues to step up and break one up the middle because Nebraska did such a good job of staying in their lanes. Smith only had one or two big runs. Man I'll tell you what he is fast and super quick

  6. Best:

Redout - crowd looks great, sounds into the game

DeAngelis looking like a real kicker

Shanle the stud coming up HUGE with the punt block

    C-Ross slicing up the D

    B-Jax running hard

    Worst:

    Herian's injury - ahhh damn :(

    others?

Crowd was totally awesome, just got back from the game. It was one of the best games I have ever been to. :horns2:horns2:horns2

  7. You are forgeting the most important element in college coaching, recruiting. The Stoops are the best recruiters in the country. Thats why they are so good. How do you think K-State got so good? They convinced kids to come to, at the time, a scholl with the worst football tradition ever. If Callahan can't recruit in the next couple of years then cry into your beers. For footballs sake girls don't give up yet.

On the other hand I'd love for that stupid air up doll of yours deflate like your school spirit.

KST recruits in an entirely way, they get a bunch of jucos and hope they can contribute right away. That to me is not recruiting.

  8. The change in Husker Nation is more than coaches and schemes. We are in unfamiliar territory and maybe a true test to see if we really are the "greatest fans". It's freakin' easy to be a fan of a winning team, hell, anybody can support a winner. If fan's are dropping, then they are nothing but flippin "wannabes". Face it, many of us have been proud of our knowledge of "Nebraska football", we have known personnel, plays, etc. We don't really know what NU football is, our identity has changed, but our F%#*ing CORE should NEVER CHANGE! Our core is the fans, the pride, the history, and the determination to win, IMO. For years we have won games simply by just showing up (weak schedule), if you deny that than you are kidding yourself. I am a proud fan and have been through good times and bad. Now we need more fans, more than ever. If I am a player or a recruit, and I see a sea of red turn into let's say a lake of red, then yes we are done! I whole heartedly agree with eric. We can't change it right now, so pull up those pampers, quit your whinning, and support our team. Remember, once the pulse is gone, it's dead - WE ARE THE PULSE! Let's encourage and inspire OUR team like never before! GBR!!!

    Amen, brotha

  9. He admitted he was wrong and now your arguing for him? We've never had a problem in the past with space but now we do? That is one of the main reasons we don't have keenan no more, He was pissed that he wasted a redshirt to sit in the locker room during warm ups. Alot of players were pissed off and I don't mean walk on's. It's not good to divide the team, if callahan didn't have a thumb up his a$$ he would quit suiting up the redshirts, so there would be some more room.

You know .....kind of like a politician, if your wrong just lie.....don't tell us what really happened . Just lie. Now I find fault in you.

  10. Since everyone seems to be having a negative attitude with the football program rather it is the fire in the players, the coaching staff, the WCO, the lack of tradition, the recruiting or lack there of, the record, or any other little thing that someone wants to complain about. I am here to bring a positive outlook on to the team. As of right now, the team sits at 4-3. Believe it or not, but we control our own destiny on winning the North.  I win against Missouri is very possible. They run the same type of offense that K-State ran against us last week. They do not have big play recievers so our secondary (which has very good talent) should be able to lock down and go man to man against them which would leave us to put eight guys in the box. We had a lot of missed tackles last week and I think we will get this solved and show up with a very good effort against Smith. As far as our offense is concerned, we have shown that we can run the ball on anyone. Ross is a great back that needs to have the ball in his hands more often. He has shown that he can be productive running the ball, catching the ball out of the backfield, and returning punts (which he doesn't do often enough). Our passing game has been up and down, but we have shown the ability to put up big plays in the passing game. We just need to convert these big plays when we have a chance. The rest of the season contains Iowa State in which many people here think that we can beat. Then we travel to Norman to face, what I think is the best team in the country which is Oklahoma. It might take a miracle to happen, but guess what, some times they do. After OU, we get Iowa State which is probally the worst team on our schedule, followed by Colorado. If we happen to beat Missu, Iowa state, and Colorado, They would put us in the Big 12 Championship game against OKlahoma probally. I believe it or not, if we get to the Big 12 championship and could find a way to win it, we would be heading to a BCS bowl game. Something that none of you think is possible. If we would happen to get there, then we would probally face a Utah team that is very beatable.

I just wanted to post this so that everyone can read something positive rather than all of the negative that everyone else thinks is more important to post.

Peace Out and bring on the negative comments.

yes we control our own destiny, that's where the scary and negative part comes in.

    I love this dude
