  1. I like up and coming coaches. Having said that someone from outside MR’s tree wouldn’t be the worst idea. Especially when you consider the money he has to spend and the fact that most of these guys have had very little experience with other coaches mentoring them.  I think snow is the DC and they are just negotiating with Carolina for his buyout. I believe he was fired when MR was and that would mean he was due compensation vs these other guys that left on their own.

  2. Completely underwhelmed by these hires. The teams that are successful at the highest level bring in top coordinators every time theirs moves on. They pay the top guys available to get them. They don’t just take that money and pay a guy they once coached with because they’re comfortable with. Could have hired these guys with a 5 million pool.

Thats not necessarily true on Deion Sanders. Deion is a leader as well and does have connections. You be crazy not to think that as well regardless of the coaches being there with him at Jackson State.

I think they both can assemble good staffs. You’re right that deion has connections. I just think MJ has better connections because of his brother. So it’s great vs good in my opinion. With BOB the staff matters a little less because he’s your OC.

BoB is a high floor guy imo. I would feel super confident he goes bowling year 1. Its very hard to say what his ceiling is or if he would even stick around to find out but he is a great organizer and I think he could get things moving quickly.

Deion is a super wildcard. Its possible he just lights it up but I think its just as likely he has some growing pains going up to p5 where he has worse talent than the teams he plays instead of much better talent where he is now.

I agree with all of that. BOB will be solid but maybe not great. Deion with his recruiting will be messy but most likely good. Mickey is a leader and has some connections that might allow him to assemble a staff that far exceeds what the others will do. It will be interesting to watch it play out.

Judging from the stats on Football Outsiders, Baylor's OL was a rather mixed bag in 2019, Rhule's best season. Rankings in different categories anywhere from #16 to #116. Overall fairly mediocre, though.

Feels like more of a product of the conference more than him being a great o line builder and those stats seem to prove that.

  7. I think it’s funny that people keep talking about rhule building the line. Went back and looked at box scores from all of his games at Baylor. Lots of yards on the ground Vw the non con and then averaged about 120 on the ground in conference play when you take KU out. That was a time when the big 12 played no defense.

  8. They most likely have an agreement in place. All the they can’t get anyone to take the job talk is BS. There are a 100 coaches and coordinators that would welcome the opportunity.  Trev might have had a coach in the bag 12 months ago. The search didn’t start after week 3.
