  1. That is embarrassing that they couldn't sell out their tiny stadium against a top 10 team. We sold out our stadium against Nicholls State, and 270 some teams before that!!! Like the kid said, great fans...

Yes sad that there are so many open seats. I don't want a red stadium in a couple weeks. However, your statement about sellouts has nothing to do with people in the seats it has to do with the actually selling of tickets. There has been numerous times the stands in Memorial were not full but counts as a sellout.

  2. How men think:

I got a phone call from a gorgeous ex-girlfriend the other day. We

lost track of time, chatting about the wild, romantic nights we used to

enjoy together. I couldn't believe it when she asked if I'd be interested

in meeting up and rekindling a little of that "magic."

Wow!" I said. "I don't know if I could keep pace with you now.

I'm a bit older and a bit balder than when you last saw me!"

She just giggled and said she was sure I'd "rise" to the challenge.

"Yeah" I said, "just so long as you don't mind a man with a

waistline that's a few inches wider these days!"

She laughed and told me to stop being so silly. She teased me,

saying that tubby bald men were cute, and she was sure I would still be a

great lover. "Anyway," she giggled, "I've put on a few pounds myself!"

So I told her to f#(% off.

  3. Ahearn Field House. It's the only way a KStater can win a basketball game this year! I will buy something for my dad Uncle Bill. He will always wear Husker Red. I wore an Alumni Husker pin at last years tailgate, thats as much as I think I can bare.

  5. This is definately the wrong message to send. I am a teacher and I have had a student turn in a pocket knife to me twice in my 4 years of teaching and both were in first hour. They where nervous that they would get in to trouble and I let them know how proud I was of them to step forward. In both cases I just had the parent come to the school to get the pocket knife back. You don't want to give the knife back to the student, in case something were to happen on the bus. The school needs to make a statement all right, it needs to thank the student publicly for doing the right thing.

  6. It will be interesting to see how this years players react to the change in coaching styles. Everyone loved Wooly, but Huggins isn't so Huggy if you don't play the way he wants. For instance, Lance Harris isn't consistant and he will either step up next year or get kicked to the curb. The exciting thing is the players he will recruit. The kids from Ohio :woo

My goal for the team next year is the NIT

You have to start some where

I have seen K-State win at home to the Huskers in Football, but I have never seen us Beat the chickhawks at home in basketball. Actually they have never one against them in Bramlage.

    Big 12 next year:

Northern Iowa coach, McDermot, (spelling) is going to Iowa St can his team finish the season?

Mizzou ? Coach????? I hope they get gonorrhea and die a slow horrible death

KU just have them play a team that starts with the letter B in the first round of the Tourney

NU coach is in question among fans...was Danny Nee a better fit?

Colorado in same spot as Nebraska with coach, the next step is always next year

OU had the players not the heart, great coach top team every year

Texas there team is like there football team, always underachieving (except this year?)

    OkSt bring back Big Country

Baylor will a non-conference help?...evidently MU and KSU were there big wins and that proved to be not that big of deal when you look at how good they were at the end of the year.

Texas A&M new coach...new attitude, will the rest of the conference stand up to this approach and regain national attention as a power conference...will A&M be able to repeat there performance the gave this year and repeat to the Dance?

Texas Tech...can't count out Bob Knight any year, but has he sold his soul to reality TV and the great Auto-Parts store in the sky? This is my most anticipated match up of next year. A winable game for K-State and two coaches that are just as much fun to watch as the game itself.

  9. Nebraska blonde

A young blonde woman in Omaha, Nebraska was so depressed that she

decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Missouri

    River.

She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the frigid water

when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the

    dock,crying.

He took pity on her and said, "Look, you have so much to live for.......

I'm off to Europe in the morning, and if you like, I can stow you away on

my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food every day."

Moving closer, he slipped his arm round her shoulder and added, "I'll keep

you happy, and you'll keep me happy."

The girl nodded OK. After all, what did she have to lose?

Perhaps a fresh start in Europe would give her life new meaning.

That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat. From

then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit,

and they made passionate love until dawn.

Three weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered by the

captain. "What are you doing here?" the captain asked.

"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she explained.

"I get food and a trip to Europe, and he's screwing me."

He certainly is," the captain said. "This is the Ameristar, and we never

    leave Council Bluffs."

  10. Not an excuse because there can't be one. They sucked Sat. Evidently since KState used all there timeouts in the first I don't know 30 seconds of the game couldn't call a Fab 5 Michigan timeout. When the upback saw that there wasn't a punter he yelled "Hold on" the center was on a quick snap and snapped the ball on the first sound. Dumbass.

    :bang

  11. I love it how the media can't help but portray Solich's firing in a way that makes Nebraska look as stupid as possible. God forbid we give Nebraska the same respect we give everyone else. I don't really have anything to say though. How is this any different that any other anti-Callahan article? Other than the fact that it compares a second year, 3-0 coach with a first year, 0-3 coach. That's not a very fair comparison for either, is it?

This is not an attack on Jake but read some of the articles that were posted in here when it was announced that Solich was leaving. It just takes SI a couple of years to figure out what is really going on. NU's D has never left, however the WC offense has never been completely sold to the Husker Faithful. It is hard to change the only way a program wins. And I still don't understand why it was changed. I'm glad it did but don't understand. You just don't wear teams down anymore. Fullback dive in the fourth quarter was one of the most unbelievable calls NU could have. D lines could not compete. KState has improved since 89, but it still never found a way to beat NU until they changed from bruiser to finess. You now run a Texas style offense, how have they done?

  12. ok, as soon as KSU reches dynasty status you can rant all you want.....with a couple good seasons you don't earn bragging rights......although you wish

    hunter

    :wtf

what does that have to do with the post?

    Did you mention Dynasty?

Are you talking like SF. 49rs type?

you know the one in the 80's and 90's. :thumbs

  13. I love when you guys trash TTech for wanting to score 100 points. Just because you know NU can't. Great D but no Offense.

    More stats for the Kid.

    Most Points by NU–77; Arizona St., Sept. 16, 1995;

    Iowa State, Nov. 15, 1997

Most Points by NU (Conference)–77; Iowa St., Nov. 15, 1997

Biggest Victory Margin (Conference)–63; 77-14; Iowa State, Nov. 15, 1997

Wonder how NU did that year? Like I need to be told...

    Get off the dedhoarse

Do you think TTech has that good of a D?

Or are you worried NU's D is not good enough for TTech's Offense?

    NU's D is there strength.

Worry about what is this weekend.

Maybe if you tell me some more about NU championships it will change this years KSU game.

Hey maybe it will work for ISU? Tell them you put 77 on them and then took home the Sears Trophy, that won't motivate them.

Sorry still on the comments from "Most points ever allowed @ Memorial Stadium?"

    Just the facts.

  14. Wow, have we become this sensitive as NU fans? KState Wildcat simply answered the question asked above, and we jump all over him for it? I realize he did inject a couple other little tidbits, but I'm amazed you guys jumped all over him for it.

Fact, Snyder brought one of if not the worst team in Division 1 and made them contenders. KState has more Big 12 championships in the 2000's than Nebraska does. I believe they have just as many bowl appearances in the 2000's as Nebraska, and they have just as many BCS bowls in the 2000's as Nebraska.

I'm a Husker fan, but I am willing to give credit where credit is due. Snyder is the only coach still in the Big 12 to ever record a win over Stoops and OU in the 2000's. We think Lincoln is a tough place to recruit players into. How about Manhattan KS? They're population is roughly 25-30,000.

I know we're all a little sensitive due to the last few years, but let's not run off other teams fans off of our board. It would have been completely different if he'd come in here talking smack and trolling, but he simply answered a question.

Yes, I added my tid bits but this wasn't an attack. Why did you pick this post to jump on the championship wagon. I didn't trash NU I answered the question. I know the Woodshed is where we hate one another and only post appropriate things else where. It must just be from the nervous energy about this weekends game. :bang

By the way the info is directly from your Media guide found on the web. Yes, even the number of fans at the game. If you want to find out how bad KSU has lost in the past I probably would of posted that info and then mentioned last years score too. :sarcasm

Why don't you just look at my stratagy for beating ISU this week in the "Iowa St. Gameplan" post where I added my own 2 to Foppa's 11. And since you expect me to add my KState tid bit Eustachy was busted at Missouri and you guessed it at a KState party. :cheers

  15. Most Points by an Opponent–61; Minnesota (61-7), Oct. 6, 1945

Most Points by an Opponent (Conference)–48;Oklahoma (48-0), Oct. 22, 1949

Last time KSU was in Linclon 38-9

    Not bad.....

    Other Memorial Stadium Facts:

The last non-sellout came Oct. 20, 1962, when NU and Kansas State drew 30,701.

Which is simular to the attendence during the 2003 game during the 3rd quarter after the sea of red parted.

  16. Foppa's Gameplan vs. ISU..

    1) Give ISU's bus driver wrong directions to Lincoln.

    2) Have ISU play the Prison team from the movie 'Unnecessary Roughness' for the 1st quarter.

    3) Tell NU's O-Line that ISU molested all their sisters, mothers, and girlfriends the night before.

    4) Whatever the play-call is, do the exact opposite.

    5) LOTS of super glue.

    6) No watching the offensive Broncos film of the Broncos vs. Chargers game that was played today. Seriously, are they copying NU, or is NU copying them???

    7) The only time NU shifts is in their cars leaving the stadium after the game.

    8) 'Yellow' is the name of a Coldplay song, is generally associated with a warning of some kind, and is found on bananas. It isn't a color you want to see on the field every other play.

    9) Needing 10+ yards + throwing 3 yards = never getting first downs.

    10) Executions are legal in prisons, third world countries, in the Taliban, and on third downs.

    11) Just win, baby. :thumbs

#12. Have old basketball coach Eustachy throw a natty light party for the football team the night before.

#13. Have ISU starting defense ride down to Lincoln with Eustachy. His trips are famous for taking detours.
