I think we have a better chance than usual this year simply because of our defense and ST. Probably comes down to turnovers and just how horrible our offense ends up being. It would be looking much better if we had won the Minny game like we should have. There’s certainly nobody unbeatable from the West on our schedule.

Defense will keep us in these games, but looking at the schedule, I don't see Huskers winning more than 1-2 Big Ten games this year: We should beat Northwestern while Illinois is a coin-flip. As of right now, none of the other games look winnable to me.

Yes, it was Northern Illinois. Obviously that is a caveat. But right now, Haarberg should obviously be the starter until his play shows otherwise. Quite simply, he did not produce needless, unforced turnovers at the same rate as Sims. Yes, there was that one throw. I'm not going to say "MY GOSH THIS MAN'S A WORLDBEATER!" But, frankly, with him, we probably get the win over Minnesota because he turns it over at least one less time.

Again, I want to clarify, I am not saying he's the real deal. But, I think it'd be madness to go with Sims right now because Sims has done nothing but show an inability to maintain possession at a level I have never seen.

Starters should not lose their status due to injury. When Sims gets healthy, he should start again unless the coaches pull him for poor performance.

Ok so do you think they will be able to do the same next week against the best team, by far, they have played all season? They have been exposed in the trenches 3 games straight. They are not there yet in that area. Maybe Shedeur  can will them to a win. He is elite for sure but that only gets you so far if you don't have time to throw the football.

CU has Oregon and USC coming up. No way should CU win either of those games. They’ll be double digit underdogs in both. That being said, I’ll bet Deion & Co. finds a way to win one of those two games - even without their best player.

Lol. Your username is out of order. It should be eXHusker.

I’m a Huskers fan, donor, and longtime season tix holder.

Additionally, I possess enough integrity to be able to compliment other coaches/players/teams that may not be popular with our fanbase. Talent coupled with a winning mindset is a beautiful thing to witness, wherever one may find it (IMHO).

The absolute irony of saying that Deon is the biggest game changer in 50 years and then mentioning Saben in the next paragraph.

They were playing Colorado State, the fact they had to come back in the first place says alot

It happens to the best of teams. What you do when the unexpected occurs and your back’s up against the wall, reveals character and mettle.

Dude…for next years class, they are currently ranked 76th with 8 commits.

is that going to improve?  Yes. But no way is he going to have the # 1class.

You’re belief in the hype machine is 180 degrees from mine.

Alabama is not going to hire Deon. Colorado is perfect for him because their s#!t fans don’t care about if their stud QB tries to poke other players eyes or the HC has zero respect for anyone but himself.

QB Sanders has some fight in him- great to see.

Coach Sanders has shown disrespect to nobody (if you have proof that shows otherwise, please post it here)

Rhule would be crazy to go with Sims.

Sims is the more talented QB of the two, period. Yes, he needs to make better decisions overall, but Sims has a better chance at winning in the Big Ten -- HH just isn't talented enough.

I understand that aspect of it and from that angle it is smart. My thing is it could backfire imo. They have swagger when they are winning and proving the haters wrong. But what happens when the haters are right? How will they respond to getting whipped? They may be able to respond to the adversity, we will see. But imo the us against the world approach is a recipe for implosion. That being said, what do I know. I'm a random husker fan who has disdain for the buffaloes

I'd say CU's comeback last night and then winning in double OT after losing their best player to a cheap shot was the definition of responding to adversity.

And very well could be seeing it right now with neon.

Your perspective is a 180 from mine. Deion Sanders is the biggest difference-maker to hit major college football in the past 50+ years. Watch his recruiting class next year - just watch - it will be ranked NUMBER ONE.

Deion is already being mentioned as Nick Saban's eventual replacement at Alabama. And why shouldn't he be? Deion attracts TOP coaches and TOP players -- he is a talent-magnet.

    HC Matt Rhule

"This is kinda what you get when you hire me" - Matt Rhule at the 6 minute mark. He tried to expand on that comment at the 10 minute, 30 second mark - saying he meant he sticks with his process.

I expect more than that from this coach - from any coach. He's an effective communicator - I'll give him that.

  11. Coach Rhule is a nice guy, has had some college coaching success in the past, and he is all about changing the culture slowly.  And most of us agree, all of that sounds good.

The guy has an eight year contract, so he’s not going anywhere — best thing for fans to do is just hope for the best.

Over reaction prize:  Jason Whitlock:  "A 56-year-old man is insisting on other adults calling him ‘Prime', some materialistic nickname. A 56-year-old man is running around with gold chains on like a 19-year-old rapper. This is a level of insecurity and false bravado that’s frightening. Deion wrote an auto-biography, a memoir, and confessed in there that he contemplated suicide. And I've watched his behavior and I go 'yeah, I can see that.' This man is incredibly insecure."

Who is the moron who wrote that?
