  1. how white trash is this:

Both men then jumped back in the truck and took off, with Taylor following and dialing 911. He lost the truck in a trailer park but was able to identify Burns from a photo lineup that police provided.

Police located the truck and tried to arrest Burns as he walked out of a trailer home, but he resisted violently and then tried to kick out the rear window of a police car. Burns was eventually subdued using pepper spray and taken to jail.

what a moron. it's like something you'd see on COPS

  2. I am glad Koch got drafted, especially before some of those other punters that kiper said were better than him. Way to go Sam.

makes no sense to me why they passed him up in All American recognition and the NFL souting combine invite....#2 punter in the nation last year.

  3. Is there any way you can permantely unsubscribe to threads? I hate having to remember to uncheck that checkmark so I don't receive e-mails everytime someone replies to a thread I posted in.

I can't seem to find a function in the My Controls...but maybe I'm missing it.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

  4. I'm not going to comment on what the NCAA should or shouldn't do to Bush, but I will comment on this:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Asfj...=yhoo&type=lgns

Michael Michaels, who owns the Spring Valley, Calif., home in which Reggie Bush's family lived for nearly a year, said Thursday he will file a $3.2 million lawsuit for fraud against the Bush family Friday to recoup unpaid rent and other finances given to the USC star's family.

Michaels' attorney, Brian Watkins, alleged Thursday night that Bush's mother and stepfather, Denise and LaMar Griffin, failed to pay $54,000 in rent for the home that has become the center of a joint Pacific 10 Conference and NCAA investigation. Watkins also said that Michaels supplied money to the Bush family, including financing that allowed them to travel to several USC road games last season.

Not paying rent and taking cash from Michaels could constitute extra benefits and a violation of NCAA rules by Reggie Bush. Student-athletes, their friends and relatives are prohibited from receiving extra benefits from professional sports agents, marketing companies or their representatives. A breach of these statutes could result in an athlete being ruled ineligible, and games in which they played could be forfeited.

According to Watkins, Michaels became involved with the Bush family after LaMar Griffin and Lloyd Lake sought to establish New Era Sports & Entertainment – with Reggie Bush as a future client – in November 2004, prior to the Trojans winning that season's national championship.

Watkins said Michaels' role in New Era Sports was that of primary investor, and that Michaels' relationship with the family fell apart in recent months – after Bush signed with agent Joel Segal and didn't make good on a commitment to join New Era.

"There was an agreement that they weren't supposed to live free and mooch in that house," Watkins said of Bush's family. "They were supposed to pay rent. But they never paid one dime. Their premise for not paying was that, ‘Next month, we'll pay you. Next month we'll pay you.'

"Then it got to the extent where they were saying, ‘Well, don't worry about it, it's all guaranteed because we're going to be owners of this marketing and agency business, we'll give it to you out of our profits.' Twelve months passed by in that house, and not one dollar was paid."

Said Michaels: "They took advantage of me."

Reggie Bush has denied knowledge of any deal his family may have had with Michaels.

Watkins said that after New Era Sports & Entertainment failed as a business, Michaels sought to recoup $300,000 in back rent and other finances spent while establishing New Era over the course of the last 12 months. The attorney said his claims will be documented by different forms of communication collected in recent months.

okay, if you're a land lord and you have a tennet not paying rent for over a year ($54,000 worth) and also you're just GIVING them money so they can travel to games....??!??!!?!?

    You're an f'ing' moron.

    "They took advantage of me"

Oh come on, you're the one who brought them into your house, gave them all this money in hopes that he would sign with the company you're investing in...it appears to me you were trying to take just as much advantage of them as they were of you.

    Gimme a break

(blah on the censorship/filters on this forum too ;) )

  5. It isn't uncommon for bail bondsman to post a bond based on collateral, such as a second mortgage on a house, title to a new vehicle, etc. Doesn't have to be cash necessarily.

maybe we'll see him on Dawg the Bounty Hunter soon!

No story about the 37th state would be complete without mentioning the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. Formerly known as the Bugeaters and Rattlesnake Boys, the Cornhuskers are the best team -- make that *teams* -- in the history of college football. Jeff Sargarin's highly scientific and accurate study places the '95 and '71 squads first and second on his list of the all-time best. Think your Alma matter has loyal fans? When a Husker fan bleeds they make sure it's Husker Red and they've made sure every home game's been sold out since 1962.

But did you know the Huskers lost the best game in the history of college football?

New Year's Day of 1984 found the Huskers in the Orange Bowl trailing the Miami Hurricanes 17-0 with halftime looming and their dreams of a National Championship slipping away. There was no reason to panic. On the sideline coaching the Huskers was Tom Osborne, a man so focused and wise he makes Yoda look like a special needs student with ADHD. Dr. Tom -- he as a PhD in Developmental Psychology -- decided it was as good a time as any to unveil a little something he drew up called the "fumblerooski."

The play started with quarterback Turner Gill *placing* the ball on the ground as if he fumbled, then All-American lineman Dean Steinkuhler picked it up and rumbled 19 yards for a touchdown. To say fumblerooski was a surprise is an understatement. Nebraska's offensive was as conservative as its citizens who haven't voted a Democrat to the Whitehouse since FDR. Was Miami fooled? Does a golden retriever look stupid chasing his own tail? The fumblerooski was so dastardly it was eventually banned from college football.

Nebraska should have won -- but the Huskers came up a point short, losing 31-30 on a failed two-point conversion in the final seconds of what many experts call the greatest college football game ever.

Still the game was not a failure. It was the start of a decade long test of Coach Osborne's Nebraska work ethic and the Husker Nation's patience. In 1995 Osborne got a rematch and won his first of three National Championships over a five-year run in which his teams went a mind boggling 60 and 3 -- and produced the best football team ever.

trying to look for a video.

seems so simple that it's a wonder how anyone got confused by it.

  7. will espn stop kissing usc's @$$ finally???

    god I hope so

They're our third game, we are their second game.

If we beat them it'll be amazing. I absolutely hate USC (well, more specifically the most recent USC team and how much hype they got). And not to mention, they haven't lost a game AT home since prior to 2002! It'd be cool to be the first team in several years to beat them there.

    :power

  8. i wouldn't look at that number in the crowd all too seriously. having grown up in so cal, there are a lot better things to do there this time of year than watch a scrimmage. i'm kinda suprised they got that big a turnout

well, what it shows me is how it seem many of the USC fans are just band wagon fans. The team had a "good" past few years and everyone in the country starts following USC football...people who probably have never followed them before Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush joined the team.

Now that their top players have left, not as many people seem interested. I'd be interested to know how many people were at the scrimmage last year.

It's just funny to compare the numbers of USC vs. Nebraska fans, that's all. And maybe there is more to do in southern cal than Lincoln...but college football is college football. No matter what city you're in, you can probably spare a few hours to watch your team.

  9. USC plays their scrimmage game

    http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Am...ov=ap&type=lgns

The 94-play scrimmage was played before an estimated 15,000 fans at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The offense directed by McDonald won 22-19 over Sanchez's offense.

15,000?? HA! That sounds like the minimum number of Nebaska fans that will be at the USC game this season...IN California!

Watch out Trojans, the Huskers are coming! Might want to bring sunglasses to darken that bright red sea in the corner of the stadium.

  10. I'm for keeping it. I agree with Callahan. A bowl game is great to root for during the season, but I always like keeping track of the conference race first. And seeing how most of us follow the Big XII games more than any other conference's...I think most people like to see the top two teams of the divisions play for bragging rights. Especially during seasons where maybe Nebraska is really good and so is Texas...but during regular season we would never know who is better because they didn't play eachother.

And I don't know why they are complaining about the championship game hurting a teams chance to play in the National Championship. That's the way it should be! If Texas had lost to Colorado in the December game, Texas shouldn't have been allowed to play for a National Championship trophy. But they killed Colorado, and rightly so....Colorado deserved it in my opinion because they didn't deserve to be there (but that's another rant all together).

My ideal schedule would be to implement a tournament of some sort like Basketball gets, but that's never going to happen.

    sooo...I say keep it.

  11. I thought you could access the pinnacle sports network through the Listen Live button on Huskers.com.  I could be wrong, is that what you meant by Huskers.com not playing it?

PS - welcome to the board

yeah, that's what I meant...I usually listen to the games there when they aren't televised (live too far away to get to a game every week). I just figured they might at least put the spring game on the pinnacle network, but nothing is on the schedule for "Upcoming Live Events." Could be being passed over for a softball game or something.

I guess I'll just have to read about it after it's over.

    Thanks for the welcome(s)!

    GO BIG RED!

  12. Hi, new here.

Does anyone know if they'll at least put the game via radio on the net? Doesn't look like huskers.com is going to play it and it would be really sweet if I could listen to it on Saturday. It may just feed my craving for the season to start for at least a little while.
