  1. He has to run the plays given to him....

That being said... there is virtually no line to protect him... they have cotton balls

Green has the size and speed to help this situation, as long as he has some blocks and yes, the only pass I saw in the endzone that was catchable was from Green.

    Sad Day!

  2. name 1 QB who gets sacked 5 time and has constant pressure from the defense that rushed 4 people most of the night, that can succeed in finding open receivers and consistanly move the ball.

when the qb is under pressure the receivers need to break off their routes and get open to help the qb.

the loss yesterday wasnt due to poor QB play, it was due to HORRIBLE offensive line play, and stupid penalties.

i like Cotton, but i just dont think that he is the right guy for the job anymore. the penalties that the offensive line is committing is due to a lack of discipline, and that starts with the techniques that the position coach is teaching or failing to teach.

You hit the nail on the head there. I've been saying this for a while. I simply can't think of a team Cotton has coached that improved. He seems to be a good guy, but his track record is another story. It certainly looks like we have big, agile, athletic lineman........ still the line doesn't get it done. If we can't fix that.... we're in for a long season.

  3. A Lawrence Phillips or Ahman Green type RB that could score on any play from anywhere on the field.

Roy is as good a running back as we've ever had... what we're is missing is the OL that those other guys had

Your joking right? Right? Sure, Helu is a decent and tough running back but to say he's as good a back as we've ever had? How old are you? Ever heard of some guy named Rozier? How about Phillips? How about Green? I could list a lot more but there's not enough room...Sorry but I respectfully disagree... :nutz

I would agree he isn't as good of back as we ever had but his 110 ypg is pretty good and a big play running back is not what the team is missing. I think what is missing is diciplned play I never remember seeing so many costly penaltys mostly on the o line but that is the main thing holding the team back

Sadly, I have to agree. Our O line is not looking as good as I expected. To be honest, I've yet to see a Cotton line really emerge as one of the top tier lines.

  4. I think Jared Crick is doing a great job opposite of Suh right now. He and Baker will be side by side for a couple of years.

it will be fun to watch

Exactly, I think both of these guys are going to suprise some people. Crick is bigger than Suh and Suh imself said he may be stronger. He is green behind the ears in a big way, once he matures..... look out!

  5. We are seeing history in Mr Suh guys, he is very special and has little help around him and hardly any offense to keep him off the field and fresh.

Are you serious? We have the best front four in the country, and one of the top 3 defenses in the country.

    :bang:bang:bang:bang

    :yeah

And on top of the d line our corners and safties are playing lights out. Look at the games this year. They have been hung out to dry and still haveing huge games. In almost every game this year, oposing QBs had all day to find an open receiver (by design at times, VT) and couldn't. Our D can be very very good and they are young..... scary for anyone on our schedule.

  6.

And I think you have to give a lot of credit to the Pelini brothers. Wonder where Suh would be if they had not come along. words do not describe what he is doing right now.

    This

Honestly, he probably would have transferred.... He needed the coaching, not only to get better for the team but for himself. He wanted to learn more and become better and the former coachs just weren't geting it done. (or anything for that matter) Not bad coaching... no coaching, even apon request.

  7. It appears some on here have forgotten about what a Nebraska fan is. Or maybe have not been around long enough to know how to be one.

This kid gave everything he had. It hurts to lose, but to lose like they did and we did at VaTech hurts way more.

Our players seemed to respect their players and our coaches did the same.

I would like to see us act like what we all claim to be. These comments are not it.

Respect, we want it again, well let's try to earn instead of lowering ourselves.

    :yeah:yeah

  8. The D is the only reason we won that game. The O was horrific and for a while, it was embarraging to even see them take the field, that was painful. The fact that we were even in that game is due to the D. Our Defense controlled the game and handed the O the game on a silver platter on more than one ocasion. That is blackshirt football. Sure we dropped a few ints but hell even the receivers couldn't catch them. Overall.... our D played the best I've seen in a long long time. I think the Blackshirts will be seen this week.

  9. Not to sound ungreatful. But that loss at VT ripped my heart out. It's getting old to have opposing fans come and pat us on the head for being such impressive losers. It doesn't matter if the comments are well intended. They start to grind on the nerves after a while.

*pat on the head* *pat on the head* *pat on the head*

Good job Huskers, way to take a loss. Come back soon so we can tear your hearts out with less than 30 seconds to go...OK.

*pat on the head* *pat on the head* *pat on the head*

Sorry, but being a good sport also implies that you don't make these kinds of comments to opposing fans who wanted their team to win the game, not be a good example of how to lose.

Way to completely, totally, absolutely fail to understand what good sportsmanship is all about. :thumbs

    :yeah

I think the proper thing to do in this case is to find the guy that wazzed in your weaties, before you posted this, and deal with that.

  10. My understanding is... We may see as many as 6 DBs at one time on the field at the same time due to Mizzory's spread offense. I don't think Denard is the only DB that is not normally a starter working with the first string. I am excited to see this kid get more playing time though. He is a hell of an athelete!

  11. WTF. Why would anyone shoot a dog? Also why would anyone even be carrying a gun on a gravel road???

I have a couple of ideas who it was but they are both denying it. People out here are proud of their weapons. Just wish that responsibility went along with that.

I really appreciate all the support guys..

    Thank you...

Have you called the police about this? I had an individual steal my dog (herbie husker was his name). I tracked this kid down over a month and a half. I had some good leads and actually found my dog. It turns out, in Oregon it is a felony to steal or kill someones pet. In my case the kid turned out to be 14 so the police didnt do much execpt tell me I should be a Private Investigator... LOL I'm sure the kid is in jail somewhere by now and probably the dad to, he was a real piece of work. (wish I could have gotten my hands on him... pretty elusive) <_<

You should see what the law is in your area.... if you really want to find out and take action. Then again it may be better to morn and enjoy the memories.

    VERY SORRY TO HEAR THIS!
