  1. Jeez...he was so fast when he was healthy...

He never did get all his speed back after that Mizzou injury, which is very unfortunate.

He loss speed after that injury yes, but he healed. I think that overall, he loss a half step or so when he put on more weight during the off-season after his freshman year.

  2. It will be hard to change the perception until someone punches the bully in the nose a few times. FSU can do us all a favor in a few days. If not we'll get more of the same in 2014 and we'll like it.

I wish it would be Oregon or somebody else that would do it. Because even if FSU wins, it's still another "southern" school that won the NC. Might as well be the SEC.

  3. BREAKING --

    Statement from NU AD Eichorst:

"My approach has always been to not comment publicly about our coaches until their full seasons are complete, as I strongly believe it is unfair and counter to best practices. However, given the volume of unfounded speculation and conjecture about our head football coach, I want to reaffirm what I have said many times since I have arrived at the University of Nebraska -- that I positively respect, appreciate and support our football student-athletes, coaches and staff, as we do everyone in the Husker family. We very much look forward to our upcoming bowl game and Coach Pelini continuing to lead our program in the future."

  4. FFS...........WHAT WAS THE QUESTION FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE AT WORK AND ARE NOT WATCHING??

The reporter asked Bo how he felt about the 2 interceptions

He should have said, "I loved them! I'm going to convince RKIII at halftime to throw at least 4 more in the 2nd half."

Sarcastic answers to dumb questions would be so awesome. lol
  5. I would love this match up... Remember last year, people were assuming we'd be taken to town by Georgia and we were in it for the bulk of the game.  bring on the best team possible,  Football fans outside of Husker/LSU fan base will watch this bowl matchup, would much rather have that then some scrub team on a pre-New year bowl

I still have a hard time believing that we got UGA's best effort though.

2.) Tackling is freaking horrible. Andrew Green deserves as much ridicule as Taylor.

I'm tired of seeing players "hit" the ball carrier thinking they can knock him down. f'ing wrap up and actually tackle the guy!

It's like they the tacklers will stop and dive at their ankles instead of popping their shoulders into them and driving them to the ground.

  7. Taylor could have played like Taylor yesterday and we still could have won but...

1.) Our D-line cannot get off blocks. This has been an issue for a very long time and I think this is what hurts us the most. What is this, coaching? Lack of talent? Are our players out of shape?

2.) Tackling is freaking horrible. Andrew Green deserves as much ridicule as Taylor.

3.) LB's are very hesitant to react. It seems like by the time they know what to do, they are trying to run the ball carrier from behind. (Chalk it up to youth, but we've had the same issue when we had experienced LB's on the field last year.

  8. Seems like almost all of the Nebraska fans are jumping on Bo Pelini and his staff. I think the major reason for the Bruin victory was that on both sides of the ball the Bruins had faster players than Nebraska did. Yes, recruiting is the responsibility of the coaches, so the current staff could be (and should be) criticized for not gettting players who are fast enough to compete with the better teams in college football.

But the recruiting issue aside,do any of you think that the outcome would have been any different if you could have magically swapped out the entire Pelini staff for any other Big 10 staff?

I don't think that UCLA has faster players than Nebraska. That's based on what i saw. Nebraska is a pretty fast team. If you follow star rankings, Nebraska and UCLA are pretty even at least on Scout.com.
