  1. Too bad you're not playing on Columbia. I'd buy stock in Goodyear Tires.

It is sad that you are right about that.

he is not right, but you got the sad part right. no wonder there is the myth of columbia with stupid comments like that

I know the comment is made as a joke (I hope). I once had a bad road experience in Columbia, MO, but I don't let one experience form my opinions. I am actually headed to Columbia/Rocheport this weekend with friends to ride the Katy trail. I'm sure if we don't bring up conference expansion talk and be obnoxious we'll have a great time. Any suggestions for places to eat/drink in Columbia? We are going to hit up Les Bourgeois and then head into town...

  2. Quick story:

Last night I played Hardcore HQ on Rust, using a UMP with silencer.

    Predator Missle

    Harrier

    Chopper Gunner

Unlocked all three, layed down behind the tanker in one corner right after my team capped the headquarters. This is when things got crazy as I racked up 40+ kills with the Chopper Gunner. Since the map is small, the spawn points are limited and they kept spawning in one corner. The kills in the bottom left of my screen just kept scrolling continuously as I kept the Chopper aimed on this corner.

I ended up with 50+ kills for this one life and total ratio was 97 kills to 34 deaths. I was really hoping to break 100 kills...

I know the spawn killing was cheap, but I couldn't resist!

  3. I've been a member for awhile and haven't posted for probably over a year (work full-time, working on my Masters degree full-time) or more. Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who post noteworthy content that keeps me entertained and up to speed. Having lived in KC for 4 1/2 years (born in Nebraska, UNL grad) now I need my Husker fix to drown out the Mizzou/KU/KSU rubbish I hear on the local sports talk.

Hope the visit goes well tonight and that Owa and his family decide to be the newest addition to the Husker family!

Here is a letter of recommendation about myself -

    To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to recommend David Pillen for the ---------- Scholarship. As his Peer Assistance and Leadership Teacher (PALs), football coach, and FCA sponsor I have come to know David very well. He is an extremely intelligent, passionate, and proactive young man with a very unique background; qualities that enable him to achieve success under even the most strenuous circumstances.

Academic achievement and potential are of concern to any scholarship committee. David has been a solid academic student, at one of the most demanding high schools in Fort Bend ISD by maintaining a 3.18 GPA during his high school career.

David has achieved his academic success while holding leadership positions in extracurricular activity he participates in. Currently he is the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes showing that he is not only a great student but a true leader. David has also participated in PALs and Football during his tenure here at AHS. David excels in every vocation he takes part in and will surely do the same at the university level.

The preceding accomplishments alone put David in a class that few students could be a part of, but what makes him a special individual is his willingness to give up his time for the good of others. Over the past four years David has volunteered more than four hundred hours of his own time to better his community and those who live in it. Whether it is teaching second graders the dangers of alcohol consumption, collecting trash or coordinating charity events, David never turns down an opportunity to help those in need. The reason that David has been so successful in so many areas of his life is because he always puts others first, a characteristic that would put him in a class by himself among people twice his age let alone his peers.

There is no doubt that David will be successful both academically and personally at the University of Nebraska next year and this scholarship would help him in achieving that end. If you have any questions, please call me at Austin High School, 281-634-2000.

    Sincerely,

    Richard O. Lazarou

    Stephen F. Austin High School

    -----------------------------------------------

If anyone has read the article from bigredreport.com, I had some interest from some small schools down here in Texas and UH as well as TCU ... no one offered me a scholarship because I pretty much told everyone I Was going to Nebraska. After I said that everyone pretty much stopped showing any type of interest.

And I can say that the only reason that I have this opportunity to do any of this that has been put before me ... is because of God!

As a Husker alumnus and fan, you are the type of kid that this program needs. I'm proud to see that the University of Nebraska has re-established the walk-on program to recruit players such as yourself. Work hard and enjoy your time at Nebraska.

  5. I know there are quite a few people that play NCAA 2008 on here. Could anyone lend me a hand in determining the default roster for the Huskers? They screwed up so many positions/names/home towns that it is difficult who each player is supposed to be. If someone could list the real names for players by position or # as the game has it on the default rosters I would appreciate it VERY much!!!!!

  6. Hopefully Sammy shows up against USC next year better than he did in 2005. Ouch!

I think he'll be a strong quarterback and it is true that our running game will help him out with opening up receivers. Personally, I like his fiery attitude as long as he keeps it constructive. Hopefully through his involvement with the program last year he has grasped what it is to play for Nebraska. That we love fiery players, but not players that run their mouth in the media or bring negative attention if we lose (such as blaming other players or coaches)

In any case, I'm excited to see what he can do!

  7. ...take it to Dick Vermeil's house as a show of goodwill. Vermeil started crying like a baby and blubbering on that "Things like this mean to world to him and it shows him just how much he means not only as a coach, but as a person." After he got done bawling...

(Sorry...trying to break the chain of every other continuance going back to man on man butt-sex)

there was a knock at the door. Vermeil went to answer and it was none other than Trent Green who apparently missed his ole ball coach. "Hey Coach, I'm here for the gang bang." ("Old School" reference)

"Wow Trent, despite what it looks like it's not that kind of party!" Vermeil exclaimed.

    "You must have thought..."

  8. ...Cosby's sack was full of plutonium, explaining why he could kick 70 yard field goals. As Harrison screamed, he took off the nuclear-nad earrings and...

supposedly ran off to Florida which explains his previous absence from the team. When questioned, his mother not wanting to give away the whereabouts of the plutoniom freeze dried nuts, came up with an elaborate story involving Taylor. This led to...

......speculation that Harrison and his mom were actually secret lovers. Which then subsiquently led to suspition that Harrison was involved with Jim Tressel and the Sweater-vest Gang in a ring of Tostitos Chips smuggling. Harrison tried to deny but.........

then, sadly, one of the best threads on here in awhile died. :ahhhhhhhh

    The End.

  10. ........Mason Crosby came out of nowhere and kicked me 83 yards! When I got back up he was already standing beside me and was lining up for another kick. I swiftly moved out of the way (a la Charlie Brown) and he wiffed and fell on his a$$. I then kicked him in the pills numerous times before........

  11. He was on a recruiting trip in Norman, which ended up being a disaster after he got in a bar fight with one of the locals. Those F'ing Hillbillies...

still don't realize that doing your sister is "socially inappropriate", but they vow to never give up the practice. So I decided to get the hell out of there and...

  12. one thing to remember about purify........he isnt the sharpest tool in the shed. i dont want to name drop but a former coach works with me and he visits practice weekly almost daily and he has said more than once that purify just doesnt really get it. hopefully with another year he will

We run a pretty complicated offensive for a college level program. I've got the drift that he wouldn't ace the Wonderlic or anything. However, when you've got talent (which he definitely) has, the coaches will have to find a way to work with him. Even if it takes simplifying some routes and putting more reliance on his abilities (game winning catch against Texas A&M. The coaches picked an isolation play and put the ball up for him to go after it. It was a simple jump ball play). As they say gameplanning goes a long way, but it comes done to players making the big plays. This year, he was that guy and hopefully next year (whether it be the young guys or other receivers stepping up their game) their be multiple options for Keller to go to.

  13. My favorite Taylor move when he took of to run was the half-spin. He'd turn halfway around and then run a couple yards backwards before going down. Every time I about crapped my pants because I was just waiting for a linebacker to nail him in the back. Thankfully that didn't happen.

  14. My bold predicition is that this board will have about 10 people that post on it regularly in about one week.

...and I can't wait. Hopefully the Cally haters will wash back into the storm drains. Cally has frustrated me with some of his calls and decision, but that will happen with every coach everywhere.

My prediction is that Purify has over 1,000 receiving yards next year. Keller passes for over 3,500 yards. With a stronger line and more threats at wide receiver, we look down field for some big plays.

  15. I really wasn't too surprised watching OSU beat Alabama. OSU doesn't have the tradition Alabama does, but it is in the process of building up it's program with a lot of energy and recruiting. Savage is a hell of a runner and seems to consistently find a way to get an extra 3-4 yards. Reid is a dual threat QB that is a pretty solid decision maker. However, last night there was a stretch where he threw a couple of picks that almost cost them the game. I was impressed with how they hung in there for the win.

OSU is a better team than most people realize and it most should be able to see there is a change going on down there with a young coach. I'd compare them to Texas Tech when they were on the rise?

Nebraska simply got complacent like they did in more than one game this year after gaining a solid lead. Nebraska vs. Auburn is a completely different matchup in my mind. There are some simliarities (both bama and Auburn have a LOT of speed on defense), but the matchup just has a completely different feel.
