  1. Wow....what a good question! I have been a Husker fan since the late 60's, so I have tons of possessions! I used to save all the newspaper articles, but that pretty much ended when I got married and moved to Ohio. My Uncle Stan worked at a print shop in Lincoln so I have every bumper sticker that was made while he was working there. That included schedules, place mats, coasters, etc. I have autographs from players and coaches from the early 60's too! I've collected T-shirts, hats, gloves, coats, figurines, Christmas ornaments, and household things. We went to a New Years Eve party before the Gator Bowl with a bunch of Husker fans......Tommie Frazier and Johnny Rodgers were there, so I got pictures and autographs from them too. Also Jerry Tagge's autograph and picture from the Husker Nation. I have letters from Coach Osborne. I've saved programs and ticket stubs from the games I've been to. But......I think my favorite "possession" is my good son, Dan! Although being born here in Ohio, he followed the tradition of being a Husker! (My other son is a Buckeye. I know....but I tried!) I have closets and boxes full of memories. One of these days I'm going to transform the family room into a Husker room!

Thank you..just trying to come up with something good to get us to Spring practice :)

  2. I was a dishwasher at a steak house that used to have a lot of rich business guys come in. I don't really know what they were doing meeting with the business guys but Johnny Rodgers and Eric Crouch came in together. They both signed my apron and I have it on my wall. It was pretty cool to have two of the three heisman winners talking to me at the same time.

Hey North Alabama Husker, were probably not too far from each other.. im in Huntsville/Madison area in North Alabama... Very cool about JR and Eric... My wife and i got to meet Johnny R 2 years ago at a NU game (he was signing his new book and footballs) a super nice guy!

  3. How did you "acquire" that ring?

Bought the ring, had it verified by Balfour...Its something i always wanted to own... A piece of Husker History to pass down to my son..

For me, its my ultimate memorabilia possession.. For others i can understand if its not for them, but there is just SOMETHING about it when it hits the light just right and you think of that last championship season.. and HOPEFULLY it wont be long before we get another NC and have that to celebrate as a fan base

  4. #1 For me, its my 1997 National Championship ring i acquired...

#2, its my Full Size Nebraska Helmet that Dr Tom signed for me while at a Huntsville Press Club Benefit.. Was in the Huntsville Times with him right after he retired and since i was one of the few NU fans there to support him, they asked if i would like to be in a photo with Dr. Tom... UUUUGH YEAH! :)

#3 My signed Bo Pelini "Welcome to NU Football" greeting he sent my family

    Whats yours?

  5. Hi All,

I just wanted to pass on what a CLASSY thing Coach Bo and his staff did for the birth of my new son. I was so excited over the birth of my new son that i had sent his secretary and email stating that she could let him know in 18 years that he will have a new defensive tackle recruit.

Rivals has him listed at 3 stars.

Dude thats funny! Mom is 6ft, dad is 6ft 5 328... so im hoping he can be 6ft 5 to 6ft 7... He watched his first husker game at 1 day old...

  6. I'm glad this topic came up because Suh is my 4 year old son's favorite player in the world (well, Suh and Kobe Bryant are neck and neck) he's constantly re-enacting Suh flinging Colt McCoy to the ground with his 3 year old cousin. I'd love to get an autographed photo of him (he already has Kobe's), but I've never known exactly where to send a request for that. If anyone wouldn't mind posting that info, I would really appreciate it.

Husker T, know its a tad premature, but i'd try to get it thru the St. Louis Rams... Im sure he will be the #1 overall pick and im sure that if you made a request thru them after he was drafted, maybe they could make that happen.

  7. You guys laugh, but i bet Bo thinks, i will be nice to every person i can, because you dont know when you might call on a favor. J, your son could end up being a 5 star recruit, and I have a feeling you would love for him to play for the Huskers, but if Bo is off elsewhere you might remember what he did and chance your mind and send him to Bo.

It is a great thing he did, but i also look at it logically, he is helping himself out by spreading good publicity, not that he needs anymore.

Congrats.. get a picture of that thing up here if you have a chance, sounds like a cool little gift for the little guy.

Minnesota husker, TRULY you are right.. I want my son to go to NU if he has been blessed with that ability....and i hold no illusions that Bo will be at NU in 18 years (if so he had an AWESOME Career) but i will remember that act (however small to him, but huge to my family) and remeber him fondly.

  8. Dangit...makes me wanna have another kid! :corndance

Does this count against any "schollies" we have left in 2028? :cheers Congrats on your son and your memorabilia from NU and Coach Bo.

Yeah, well its just that it says the University of Nebraska welcomes "my sons name" into the world, not a scholly offer letter ;) I WISH :) I truly debated on whether i should post this on the board, but i thought showing how wonderful and considerate they were overshadowed the fact that he might now get hundreds of requests :)

I will take a picture of it once i have it framed, right now im doing all i can to catch up on sleep, so hopefully by next weekend i can have it done..

  9. Hi All,

In the mail Friday i received a very nice 8/12 X 11 certificate stating that the University of Nebraska Football welcomes my son into the world. The best thing was that it has all the Nebraska logos and it was signed by Bo Pelini.

I think that was a very very classy move by the University and by Coach Bo and his secretary. Kudos to them and its a treasure that i will have framed and put over my son's crib....

Remember.. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE NEBRASKA

  12. I did my part to raise a Husker fan. My son had NU football cards, shirts, jerseys, etc, etc. Took him to games as a youngster and everything. Now he's a Canes fan.:facepalm::facepalm: I guess there is justice however. His daughters (yes, I'm a grandpa several times now) are Husker fans (but don't tell Daddy)!!!

There was the glitz and :bs:, they got lucky against us in the 84 Orange Bowl. He will come back to the fold.

  14. My son is due here in a couple weeks and im going through alot of old collectables that i cant see keeping...Especially since im saving to buy a videocamera to document his growth :)

Right now i have Several boxes and rolls of Nebraska Quarters from the US Mint. All are unopened.. I also have several Presidential dollar rolls that i truly believe have errors in them, but i cannot be 100% sure since they are unopened.

I also have boxes of other state quarters... Texas, some other states... i know i can get face value for them by just turning them in, so if someone is interested, email me and ill let you know exactly what i have and maybe we can work out a deal.

Also will be selling some of my Nebraska memorbilia...to include 3 Nebraska championship footballs..none of them are autographed but they are limited production footballs.. I also have several pins ..

Anything i cant sell to a husker fan, im going to sell on EBAY..
