  1. I turned it to Jim Rome is Burning at 3:38 central time and missed him talking about Nebraska. I saw the big Red N at the top left of the screen but missed him talk about us. Does anybody know where I can watch that clip at?

    http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4547074&a...egoryid=2963048

Thanx by the way Rome had Tom O on during the hiring process of Bo and Rome was very respectful of TO and the huskers of old. I agree Rome called it like it was during the BC period. And he used the word "when" Nebraska gets back.

  2. Did anyone else think that the announcers where more for Clemson?

Hey watched the whole game on CBS. They had three people calling the game. CBS had one announcer reporting for each school and then the main announcer. It was very interesting after the game started they all seemed to give the Clemson defense credit though out most of the game, even when the blackshirts held Clemson to 45yds rushing the whole game.

I do agree that Clemson had a lot of speed!

The other thing that should have been done was to give Shuh or Stienkulher the MVP for the Gator Bowl.

ps not to take away or disrespect Ganz!

  3. The author of this post has changed his mind!

Just had back surgery and have been out since I wrote this post. So this is a little late on this post but wanted to at least admit my short sightedness. Thanks to all that participated.

I would like to say that after reading my post I would like to say that their are other teams I would like to see in our bowl game. Iowa (Idiots Out Wondering Around) would be a great game to see. I'll have to think about this but the author of this post has changes his mind.

  4. Thats no fun, we get them next year to try and avenge the loss.

Give me someone like ND, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan State, Georgia Tech etc...

Notre Dame sucks, I dont want 2 play them in a bowl game, that would be lame

I would take any chance to play the urin colored homers, If there is one school I hate whether they win or lose it is those guys.

totally agree!!! btw you'll love this pic of ND stadium!post-1946-1227230210.jpg

  5. How about avenging one of our losses with a bowl game against VT? I would like to see that match up because it might give us a gauge and some confidence about this year. I believe VT has gotten better and this would be a way to negate our loss to them earlier this year. Not to say that there are a number of teams that would be great to play but this match up gives us a double boost in my opinion.

Don't know how it would happen but a possible match up with an opponent that we lost to this year that is not in our conference.

  6. NEWSFLASH>>>>>>We are not ISU, Never have been, Never will be.

Doesnt make things any better just because you guys suck.

kinda like it doesn't make you a great lover just because I slept with your girlfriend right?

    Game, set and match..........................

I love this little banter! .... and CY I loved your narrative about your beloved Cy! I don't wish that much bad luck on ISU. Because there are enough teams that I would rather see have that kind of luck... most Texas schools, MU, CU, KSt, Penn St, Michigan, USC, ND, and Miami.

  7. As for now I personally do not think one game this early is going to totally destroy our season. Again if we should lose, it's how we lose! I want them to win and expect them to win but a loss this early with so many tough conference games still ahead another game could cancel out this loss.

  8. I've been visiting family in NE Nebraska and have been away from my computer. So I may have missed a thread or two on this subject. (Though I did catch the 4th grade Muzzo fan's thread!!!:w00t:w00t ) Does anyone have any idea who is trying to stay from BC's staff? TO mentioned that they could stay and help with the transition and recruiting till the new HC is hired but made no promises about their future status. Just curious to know any information anyone has out there?

  9. I disagree. From what I'm reading more people feel pitty for us than are laughing.........pitty is worse.

Yeah - those people who really know the ins and outs of college football pity us... and that's not a good thing.

Take it from an objective observer. There is neither laughter or pity. It's more amazement and shock. It's like a head-on train wreck. Oh... you may find some snide snickering from the young and stupid, but most observers are just shocked.

Thanks for your opinion. I live in Indiana and would agree that people have the same reaction. I totally agree!!! It hurts! :nutz

    Thanks,

  10. I don't know if any of you other folks saw it, but the AOL home page the other day had a link to a story and picture of Bo Ruud, Corey McKeon and a couple of other players wearing Volleyball uniforms.

When I was in school at NU (many moons ago, but in Boyd Epley's full glory), NU's players were STRONG. Big arms, big necks, broad shoulders and backs, powerful legs. I played basketball at old Men's P.E. Building with many of them and these guys were incredibly strong, explosive and agile.

The players shown in the link were SMALL. They looked like high school players to me. No wonder they are getting physically dominated week in and week out.

Dedication, discipline and hard work in off-season training = reluctance to lose.

    :dunno

    here is the pic:

  11. New to Nebraska and I had two questions.

Why aren't the games on local TV? I have a great dish package and rarely get to see Husker games.

Why is everyone saying Osbourne has integrity? If he's going to can Callahan while saying he won't, that doesn't seem like it matches up. I'm not trolling but am uncertain as to why that word continues to be used. I understand his success but not his character.

    -newbie

Definitely 2 good questions. I'll address the 2nd question. My thoughts on this has to do with a lot of what was said in reply #8(did a good job). When you hear people say, "that bc is gone after the TX game or at the end of the year..." you are not hearing that from TO. Does it look like BC will be gone soon? In many people's opinion it is "YES". :corndance

TO's past makes him so good for this situation. He rarely jumps to a conclusion till he has as many of the facts as possible (while many are speculating). Many facts that you and I will never know and he will never tell us. He is a man that gives people chances but is not willing to sacrifice the the "TEAM" Now where that line is many of us will never know. But TO in the past with players and other situations has made the decision and blamed no one for it when it went bad nor took personal credit if it was brilliant.

He is as close to the word "FAIR" as you will find in anyone. chuckleshuffle

  12. that is one expensive pill to swallow...

Don't worry if the rumors are true about who is behind the demand for changes then I'm sure they (Buffet) could cover both buy outs with a personal check.

    red_38

Buffet has not donated to UNL. Maybe a son or daughter but not the big guy himself. I asked the person in charge of donations here at UNMC if Warren Buffet has donated to the university in any way, he keeps track of these things for a living, and he said no, Buffet is NOTORIOUS for having very tight pockets.

Thanks, didn't know about Warren. But there must be some Buffets supporting the program? I'm sure husker nation faithful will come through no matter what happens.

    Thanks again dan.
