It's better for everyone if he moves on.

It might be better for him to spend a year under Riley and Langsdorf, than to transfer to the MWC.

I mean . . . would it? Kid wants to play, and if he's seventh on the depth chart at NU, but could be a stud at Utah State then why not?

    (Utah State chosen arbitrarily.)

  2. Who can ever guess what Iowa's going to do. They usually field a just stingy enough defense that most of their schedule is beatable, but they're never good on offense, and they play up/down to the level of their competition better/worse than just about everyone.

They could lose to FCS runner-up Illinois State in week one and still finish 10-2 or clobber them and finish 6-6.

  3.

Nobody would ever say Oregon, ASU, Baylor, or even OSU physically dominates a team. It is just a different game. Even teams that play good defense don't do it like it was done back in the day. A lot of that has do do with the high powered offenses of today.

guessing their opponents would say differently.

I am not saying they didn't beat teams by a lot of points, I am saying that they turn games into track meets. Nebraska/OU/ Michigan/ OSU of old/ Alabama under Bryant physically beat the crap out of teams on the offense and defensive side of the ball. There have been many things written about how Nebraska would physically beat up lesser teams to the point that it effected the rest of the teams season.

no, I'm saying Oregon and Ohio State beat teams up AND score lots of points.

So, correct me if I'm wrong.

As of right now, if we go into fall camp with no more departures and Berry gets here later this summer, we will have 85 scholarship players on the roster.

    Correct?

This is correct, however Damon Benning is speculating there could be 3 more departures. And there's been whispers of a LB and OT coming in from JUCO and playing this Fall. Sounds like there is still some things in flux in terms of the final Fall roster.

i know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a girl who says one will be

    Stanton.

Not sure if this was serious but I'm good friends with another Husker athlete (non-football player) who hangs out with Stanton. He said a week ago that Stanton is frustrated but not down. Didn't think he was giving much (if any) thought to transferring.

that's good to hear. it was just a rumor but seemed believable enough given our QB sitch.

I just wish it was Oklahoma. Obviously the rivalry is in the tank and destroyed by the old big 12. I just remember going to the last big game in '01 in Lincoln. Each others fans were just telling each other if we have to lose, I want it to be to you.

I would want Kansas and Oklahoma. Beef up the West in Football, and take away the Big 12's Basketball Powehouse. I used to want Mizzou, but they reek of SEC now.

I like it! But who would you add in the East to even out the number of teams in each division? Or would you put Kansas in the East?

ah, maryland vs. kansas, that classic big ten rivalry.

  8. More so than home and homes I'd love to see one-offs at some neutral sites. Those games always generate lots of hype and put lots of money in the schools' pockets. Maybe it's just me but I think it'd be cool to play Missouri at Arrowhead or Notre Dame at Soldier Field (for example).

I REALLLLLLY want to meet up with K-State at some point soon to shut up a guy I know who has just been pouring on the purple drank ever since Grandpa Bill got them back to relevancy. Winning big in a watered down Big 12 is supposed to be an accomplishment I guess.

haha KSUx has never been relevant

Fair enough. But they are competing for a joke Big 12 title every year it seems.

KSU has been higher ranked, played more conistent and easier to watch football, and played in bigger games than Nebraska has played in. They have won some big games and have lost some too, but I don't remember them folding in an epic let down like we have and I don't think they are a team prone to beating themselves like Nebraska has been for a long time.

Snyder is a legend and what he's able to/ been able to accomplish down there is nothing less than a miracle.

The Big 12 is a joke now? Why? They have some of the top ranked teams in the country. It wasn't a joke when we were there was it? I don't remember people calling it a joke when Nebraska was headed into the title game with Oklahoma and Texas. We wanted to win that "joke" trohy pretty badly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the move to the Big Ten. I don't miss the Big 12 aside from our Oklahoma rivalry and maybe getting a parting shot at Texas (we never could pull it off). Why is it that the instant we leave, the conference is suddenly a joke? It seems childish to me to even say. It's like when you buddy gets mad and takes his football home, your left standing there with your thumb in your ass saying "fine! I didn't want to play football anyways!"

This fan base has a huge problem showing respet to anybody it seems. I see it all the time here and its kind of dumb really. Just being honest.

If it wasn't for Ohio St. and Michigan St, what team would the Big Ten be touting?

We Husker fans act so high and might, not willing to give K-State an ounce of credit. I wish like hell Nebraska could play near that level of clean consistent football. I wish our offensive line could even remotely resemble Kansas State's offensive line. Pelini couldn't sniff Snyders' ass when it comes to coaching.

I hope Riley is a lot closer to Snyders abilities, we'll be in damn good hands.

The arrogance of Husker fans is troubling. We still sit in every thread and act like Minnesota doesn't belong on the field with us. They've beat our ass in their place and in our house. They stuffed their run game down our throats last year. When they needed to make a play, they made it, we didn't. Give em' some credit. They came into Memorial Stadium, Lincoln Nebraska, and beat the Huskers who by all rights have every resource to ensure that something like that should not happen.

Wisconsin has made us their bitch. Literally. I've watched two game Nebraska vs. Wisconsin now that have scarred my memories of Husker football for life. I've never been so ashamed to be a Husker as I've been watching that title game and then that 408 yard rectal pounding the "Blackshirts" took last year.

Iowa is knocking on our door. They want to take our spot in the hierarchy. They're not far off.

I'm hoping like hell that Riley and his staff restores the order of things. There's no reason any of these things should be happening other than the fact that Nebraska has made some very big mistakes in the hiring and firing of coaches. It's time to get it fixed but right now, I can't see why any Husker fan is stil sitting around calling K-State, Minnesota, The Big 12 or anybody a joke for that matter. We've become the joke to quite a few people ourselves.

all of this, again and again and again.

  10. For lolz here are Eli Manning's numbers the year before Langsdorf coached him and during:

    2013: 317 of 551 (57.5%), 3818 yards, 18 TDs, 27 INTs, 6.9 per attempt, sacked 39 times

    2014: 379 of 601 (63.1%), 4410 yards, 30 TDs, 14 INTs, 7.3 per attempt, sacked 28 times

So, from his worst season to one of his best (and his career high completion percentage). Obviously Odell Beckham Jr. helps.
