Jim Tressel's agent: No calls from Nebraska to him. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/tressel-agent-no-nebraska-contact-with-former-ohio-state-coach/article_860d68ce-7a48-11e4-a476-8fdcceb72b08.html … #huskers
Again...is he supposed to say that he has?
There could have been:
Conference Calls
Emails
Snapchats
Shawn Eichorst swiped right on Tressel's Tinder profile
Groupthink
Skypes
Google Hangouts
Go to meeting drops
Eichorst could have called him at the riverboats in Council bluffs (no calls from Nebraska)
---it's a fun lawyery world sometimes
You forgot carrier pigeons
Morse code
smoke signals
semaphore

Ok i've been listening to the radio, reading huskerboard and following people on twitter and facebook. Per all of the results and opinions Eichorst is looking for a few things.
1. Head coaching experience
2. Big name guy
3. Supposedly coached this last weekend.
Based on this i'm surprised the obvious name hasn't come out yet thats Lane Kiffen, he fits all of those.
please don't shoot me.
gotta respect the NU coaching family ties, imo

Cant....take....it....anymore
Just give Barney the job so the pain can end. At this point anything but the Tressell/Frost combo or Mullen or Patterson will feel like defeat
only 38 more days until this search has gone on as long as the 03 search . . .

Schiano would be a sh#t hire
i might move.

well fellas, brady hoke is officially AVAILABLE

New Source flowin' the info to The Sock. Says that the deal for Tressel/Frost is tryin' to be worked out by the folks involved. Hopin' that we may hear somethin' official from The Ginger Assassin in the next day or two dependin' on how the deal goes and if all folks is happy.
As usual, The Sock don't know nuthin' on his own. Just repeatin' what's been told to The Sock by The Source so believe or don't believe it as you wish. Sock don't care.
Go Big Red!
is this what shawn eichorst calls his penis?

He also has experience coaching defense. Wasn't he the LB coach at North Texas or somewhere like that?
Frost had served one year as defensive coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa (2008) and two seasons as the Panthers’ linebackers coach (2007-08).

i dunno. nice to see a guy wrap up but ya gotta finish the tackle imo.

Hey TT, ever thought about coaching?

The Mrs. Frost in question is Scott's mother.
We talked about dogs, about Scott & the Broyles award, just general chit-chat.
I legit talked to her last night, which is closer to any "insider" info that's been put on the board purporting to be real.
So spill the beans!!
WHAT KIND OF DOG DOES SHE HAVE?!?
it's a chocolate lab. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/scott-frost-a-key-cog-in-duck-dynasty/article_03142b63-df82-52cc-be8c-f22014c1259e.html?mode=jqm
A CHOCOLATE lab? If you rearrange those letters, delete some of them, and add some more, it spells HEAD COACH. I think we have our answer.
true story: when that article first ran, i read the sentence "my chocolate lab is there" and for the briefest of moments thought it was some sort of laboratory that produced chocolate.
it was early.

I think I could live with Matt Wells as our next coach...
i sure could.
-
^ I mean, if it was going to be Patterson, I'm sure NU would let him coach out the rest of the season.
... and not sign a recruiting class?
They did this with Bo at LSU, so he could win his Natty. yes, I said Natty.
and to think, if we hadn't we never would have gotten this:

Lol, take a coach that can get outcoached by Bo Pelini.
No
ding ding ding

would really like to see Mullen or McElwain.
Frost should get a serious look
I have seen a number of people make "CEO" comments... maybe out of left field, but what about Tony Dungy?
Nebraska has money, but there's no way it's spending 7.5 million on Bo's buyout, then another 7.5 for McElwains before any salary is talked about.
And he's going to Gainesville.
^ actually if Bo takes another job we can reduce the amount of his new salary from the buyout, NU will only have to pay the difference. per Sean Callahan after the presser yesterday.

People want Frost in as HC, he'll he could be a great coach, BUT he comes from a super finesse offense
misconception Oregon can't seem to shake. they run mostly power-based stuff, just with a lot of speed and misdirection.
Ok, so lets say Tressel and Frost come....what happens next? Honestly if Frost comes, Ron Brown is a guaranteed stay. Fill in the rest...
HC - Tressel
OC - Frost
DC -
DL - Ed Orgeron (I've wanted him on staff since I heard him speak at coaches clinic last spring, and he recruits well)
LB -
DB -
WR - Ron Brown or ?
RB - Ron Brown or ?
TE -
OL -
good god yes

shame his name isn't in the mix, "@MockRicht" practically writes itself.
-
Tressel is the president of Youngstown state. Do we really think he's leaving that job?
Obviously having been a head coach at the FBS level, Tressel probably has plenty of money, but he's currently making $300,000 as president of YSU. He'd likely pull around $4-5 mil as a head coach.
-
This is a bullsh#t statement. If a deal is in place, then it's not names. It's one name.Deal is already in place for the next head coach. All names that I have heard are good options. Fans will be happy.
assistants have names too.

"Over the last two or three years, there was a growing feeling that expectations were not being met,'' he said. "We've had an enormous amount of patience giving Coach Pelini the opportunity to take our team to the next level. Now we're going to find someone who can.''
Daub also suggested that other off-field issues beyond Pelini's record played into the decision, saying the won-loss record "is one, but only one, of the measurements'' of the coach's performance. Daub seemed to be alluding to Pelini's past sideline behavioral issues, but declined to comment further.
"I will not other than to say there's a lot more to the story that's appropriately muted,'' Daub said.
yes, that was a pretty juicy little carrot from eichorst, wasn't it?
-
My guess is McElwain. Coached this past weekend but won't be coaching this coming weekend.
I don't know that much about him..wondering if that would be the splash he needs to make?
^the last coach we swiped from Colorado State has done pretty well.
-
[haven't read the thread. sorry.]
Sure seemed today like Eichorst has his man already.
