  1. shawn watson is UNDER QUALIFIED? what about john blake?? are you kidding?

gill left on his own free will, and I believe brown did as well(to take over nebraska FCA)

I DID NOT SAY UNDER QUALIFIED (PERIOD). I said "under qualified by what used to be NU standards". I like Watson, I think he is doing a fine job (minus the whole rushing fiasco we have). We used to be the best because WE GOT COACHED BY THE BEST. Tom made buddies after the hire, not hires because they are buddies.

WE NEED GREAT COACHES TO BE GREAT.

Right now we have Mediocrity. Thanks Pedey.

  2. -----THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED OF THE NATIONAL POLITICAL COMMENTS------

There used to be the Sea of Red. Now we boo.

There used to be an unstoppable running game. Now we struggle at best.

There used to be an impenetrable defense. Now the only thing that stops Running Backs is the End Zone.

There used to be RESPECT. Not anymore.

There used to be INTEGRITY. Not anymore.

There used to be FOOTBALL. Just FOOTBALL. Not anymore.

    Now we have Politics.

I am red, through thick and thin, I am red. I am not on a bandwagon to Fire Everyone. Although some changes need to be made. I am not giving up on Big Red. I am however posing a question. More of a theory, looking for opinions.

When will the politics that were brought here by Steve Pedersen stop ruining Nebraska Football?

AT WHAT POINT DOES SOMEBODY (HARVEY PERLMAN?) SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! WERE ARE THE REGENTS? WERE ARE THE BOOSTERS? WHERE ARE THE CHECKS AND BALANCES?!?!?!?

    Nebraska is a laughing stock!

Pedersen hires Callahan, who hires Jay Norvell, John Blake, Scott Downing, Shawn Watson, Kevin Cosgrove, Ted Gilmore, Buddy Wyatt, Joe Rudolph, Bill Busch, Dennis Wagner, Phil Elmassian, Randy Jordon. (Some no longer here), ALL FRIENDS.

ALL UNDER QUALIFIED BY WHAT USED TO BE NEBRASKA STANDARDS.

BIGGEST LOSSES: Bo Pelini, Turner Gill, Ron Brown. ALL QUALIFIED NU COACHES.

IS NO ONE ELSE CURIOUS ABOUT WHY NOBODY GETS QUESTIONED ANYMORE.

Callahan was a 4th choice at best, gives his friends important positions, changes our offense (completely unnecessary), then throws our players out on the field unprepared. With an overly complex system - offense and defense.

    :boxosoap

IF YOU READ THIS -- THANK YOU.

LET HARVEY KNOW YOUR DISPLEASURE FOR STEVE PEDERSEN AND THE POLITICS HE'S BROUGHT: hperlman1@unl.edu

GO BIG RED. GO BIG RED. GO BIG RED.

    ------------------------------------------

The point is not, "who is or is not qualified". The point is not my political views. THE POINT IS: THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN NEBRASKA SPORTS, FOOTBALL IN SPECIFIC THAT NOBODY IS QUESTIONING. Eveybody is mad, but nobody is asking questions!

My post is not meant for commenting, it is a statement. WHERE IS HARVEY, THE REGENTS, THE BOOSTERS?

How are Pedey and Cally getting extensions -- EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVEN'T PROVED ANYTHING!

I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD FIRE CALLAHAN, I DON'T WANT THIS PROGRAM SET BACK EVEN FURTHER. I DO FEEL THAT COSGROVE MUST GO BY SEASON'S END. In any REAL profession - if you fail at your job (which Coz has over and over - at Wisconsin and Nebraska) - you get FIRED.

    ------------------------------------------

    Steps to Repairing Nebraska Football:

    1. Fire Coz

    2. Work out like MOST College teams - Full pads 2-3 days a week. Back to Basics.

    3. GET THE SWAGGER BACK. Confidence --> Where did it go?

    4. Get back in the weight room for the love of Tom! We get overpowered.

    5. CHANGE THE F'N TUNNEL WALK - IT SUCKS

  3. Start with "Prelude 12/21" by AFI with highlights from THIS YEAR! (I love/miss the past - but let's showcase what we have)

In case you don't know the song it starts real quite then has a thumping bass. Here are the lyrics:

"This is what I brought you this you can keep,

This is what I brought you may forget me.

I promise to depart just promise one thing,

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.

This is what I brought you this you can keep,

This is what I brought you may forget me.

I promise you my heart just promise to sing,

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.

    This is what I thought,

    I thought you need me,

This is what I thought so think me naïve,

I promise you a heart you'd promise to keep,

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."

On the last "kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep" The screens go black - this is that 'all-knowing' here they come kind of warning. Picture this - play tunnel walk in your mind - on each big 'duhn' show a different saying thing ie "TRADITION" etc. Then show the stadium (from a blimp view) then 'Google Earth"-like zoom in right on to the fifty yard line (maybe a live shot?) Have the camera spin around showing the crowd. Then have a super loud 'boom boom boom' knocking noise (like off of a horror movie) - at this time the camera focuses on the doors. THE DOORS OPEN - THE PLAYERS HIT THE FIELD AND SOME FIREWORKS GO OFF.

What do you think? I've got goosebumps just thinking about it.

Do we have to dye our hair black and wear rectangular glasses?

say what you want, in Memorial that song is CRAZY. I remember last year at the Texas game when they played it during pregame - un real

  5. HOW DID 84,000+ DWINDLE DOWN TO LESS THAT 50,000 BEFORE THE FIRST SNAP OF THE 4TH QUARTER. AND LESS THAN 20,000 BY THE END OF THE GAME

That is terrible. WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

:star DO NOT LET THIS GAME DEFINE YOU! SHOW UP, STAY UP, WEAR RED, AND BE LOUD. THERE IS A WHOLE LOTTA SEASON LEFT! :star

-This post has been edited. Your views have showed me that some of us still have spirit. Thank you. Just the main points are left.

  6. There was about 80,000 fans yelling at Coz during the 4th quarter, not counting the ones watching on TV.

    :hellloooo:hellloooo:hellloooo

Not that I don't agree, but there was only about 40,000 people left in Memorial in the 4th Quarter - it was a pretty pathetic site. Whatever happened to "We'll all stick together, through all kinds of weather." I was there, I watched the final ticks of the clock - props to those of you who stuck it out with me.

  7. Even though I would love for there to be a USC/LSU matchup in the BSC game (hopefully we make it through our schedule)... there is nothing I would enjoy more than you guys beating down the Trojans this weekend.

Just wanted to wish you guys good luck..... also be prepared for them to talk about USC the entire game even if you guys are playing really well.

Here's a good luck wish passed along from the bayou...

    GEAUX BIG RED!

THANKS BUDDY! I WANT NOTHING MORE THAT TO SEE THE PS2 THEORY COME TO LIFE - WITH US PLAYING YOU FOR THE NC.

  8. We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. - Vince Lombardi

Last week was a typical case of 'pulling a Michigan'. We were looking ahead, but still pulled it together to win. We showed the makings of a strong team, a team that didn't fall down and stay down.

    WE GOT BACK UP!

USC is the 'best team in the nation' by everyone's standards. But they don't have the most important thing in college football. They don't have character. They don't have the gold marks on their helmets that were earned from fighting Wake for a win. They don't have that humbling feeling of 'surviving' a road game.

To the doubters - that is what you are. You are not a 'realist' - you are a doubter.

NU has a chance, they have the makings of a great team. They need the true blue Husker fans to show up, inside Memorial and out. Fill the parking lots with you, your friends, your friends friends. Then walk into the GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL STADIUM IN AMERICA and truly read the words above the gates.

Husker Nation has been doubting our team for 5 years. The team should be doubting us. It's time to step up and truly be THE GREATEST FANS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

go big red. Go big red. Go Big red. Go Big Red. GO Big Red. GO BIG Red. GO BIG RED. GO BIG RED!
