He was still a liability in pass coverage. Luckily Cousins played poor and couldn't get the right guy the ball because our front 4 played very well.
Liability? I only saw the one play where his man (the TE) got behind him. That's a pretty athletic, fast TE, and it was a bang-bang play. He lost a step, and thankfully the TE couldn't hang onto the ball, but that was just one play. Even Rex had a false start last week.
I don't remember that one. I'm just referring to a few where Compton's guy was wide-open but Cousins couldn't get him the ball because he was either flushed out of the pocket, sacked, etc. Just because he didn't give up that many catches doesn't necessarily mean he was covering guys well.

Yards are not a comparable stat to evaluate how balanced a team is. Total yard are a worthless stat. Looking at rushing attempts and passing attempts, Michigan state has rushed 258 times and thrown it 226 times. Nebraska has rushed 332 times and thrown it 155 times. Now look at that and figure out who is more balanced.
Exactly right. MSU is the much more balanced team.

Anyone else thinking there should have been a penalty on that trick play for an illegal forward pass? When they sent the man in motion, they did not hand it off but instead pitched it to him. Forward. You can't do that twice on one play.
Then again, apparently we can fumble the ball forwards and get the yardage. Two calls that I don't understand.

Not sure on the exact numbers, but I think Nebraska is around 2-13 ATS their last 15 games when the spread is double digits.
