I find it hard to believe that any college football fan would place Callahan above Osborne in any category other than the number of modifiers used when speaking. Callahan shows no signs of being the coach or role model that Osborne was and is. I look forward to seeing any news about Osborne.

Championships are very rare, and even more rare as you move up the competition ladder.
Here's what Wikipedia says about College Football National Championships. (there's more to the article)
Notre Dame 13
Alabama 12
USC 11
Oklahoma 9
Michigan 7
Ohio State 7
Minnesota 6
Miami 5
Nebraska 5
Pittsburgh 5
Georgia Tech 4
Harvard 4
Tennessee 4
Texas 4
My involvement with football spanned over 3 decadess, playing and coaching various levels of youth.
In all that time, I personally played in but one championship game, a city championship, and lost. I coached for over 20 years in several cities and in all that time, coached in only 3. Won one, lost 2. In the 37 years I've been a Husker faithful, they've managed to win five.
Not for nothin (I'm just killing time before spring game) but I'm curious as to other's experience is with football championships.
I kept the score clock for a HS six-man championship.

My son, who keeps up on these things said that the kicker we have offered a scholarship to for next year may decommit since he has been offered by Texas. Would leave us in a bind for next year.

We do not have an offensive lineman that is even close to all big 12 caliber let alone all american. The O-linemen did open up more holes this year than last which was to be expected. You couldn't get much worse than '05.

it's starting right now
Whats he had to say so far???
Callahan really didn't say much. He just talked about lost opportunities. Then started raving about just how good the tigers are. Especially their QB. He said the team really had its work cut out for them this week. I stepped out of the room for a minute so I might have missed it, but I was hoping he would have said somethiing about Greg Austin.
I can hardly stand to watch the show. Rose is such a shill. Had to laugh when Rose made the comment about the personal fouls not called on the OSU player and the one called on Purify and Callahan said he couldn't comment on the officiating. Like Callahan couldn't say he didn't want those highlites. Also there was a dropped pass by Hardy (I think) and Callahan's comment was a backhanded "We need to do a better job coaching"
If you can get the NTV wrapup out of Kearney it is more interesting but not as good of highlites.

I think of the Orange bowl against Miami when Osborne went for the two point conversion. I'm pretty sure TO used the quote in "More than Winning". That book changed my whole perception of being a fan.
