  1. It seemed like Octavien led the blackshirts against UT, and they seemed to play better. You definitly need a leader or leaders on defense. One guy playing at 110% can make a team play better, but not always.

I hate the idea of, as soon as we are down, tackling becomes all about stripping the ball. Driving the guy back or just taking him down goes right out the window. I agree turnovers can happen that way, but how about just hit the guy HARD, knocking his helmet off and sending the ball flying.

  2. What do you all think about the trick plays that were called in the UT game? By "trick play" I mean the reverse , the HB pass, and the like. Do you think these were calls made in the moment or chosen for the game? Will we see more of this or will it be saved for close game second half heroics? I just think that these plays can really be a pain for defenses if executed well. They can make a defense VERY frustrated. I realize that you can't establish an offensive drive running reverses. All I know is when Lucky pulled it back to pass I thought I was going to come out of my skin.

  3. I would like to see the gameday crew come. This is the place for college football. I don't understand why they wouldn't like coming here. NU has to win a big game to earn their respect. Until then it will be easy for them to just say "They aren't there yet" and move on. I guess the alamo bowl is long forgotten now.

  4. I am anxious to see how the D line holds up after last week. I think they will have confidence from almost holding Texas to under 20 points, with a great job against the run. If they are making changes they can only be for the better. Look out for some fired up blackshirts come Saturday. :bonez

  5. I think Zac is playing like I had imagined he would. He has been accurate with his throws for the most part, and yes, has had too many dropped. He has been productive when the line has held their blocks, he seems to find the open guy at the last second sometimes. Not a lot of mistakes this season, which is good. I say you take ZT any day as the NU quarterback, IMO.

  6. Yesterday at Memorial stadium is what college football is all about. I wasn't at yesterday's game, but I've spoke with a few people who were there. The weather, the snow, made it feel special. Cheering after the loss shows that we know what this is all about - a game. The greatest game in the greatest place to play.

  7. There are a ton on "what if..'s" about this game. You cannot point to the last one and call that the game. Nunn is out there trying to win for his team. If he has a problem holding onto the ball then lets get him carrying that pigskin around campus  , maybe it will help. :dunno Basically, he is one of our go to guys and I want him out there. He just needs to work on some things. :thumbs

  8. What a game. Had all the makings for the upset. Many factors would cause the game to sway either way. The key was capitalizing on mistakes. We made more mistakes, turning the ball over. I believe the college football gods will be shining on the huskers in a big game in the near future. It is difficult to digest this one right now, a tough loss hurts. This, sadly, is what I live for on Saturdays. :bang

  9. I would like to see a well fought close first half followed by a second half of the same until one team wears out the other team. Never really gets out of hand, but the better team is clearly the winner. I guess that is how I like to watch any game.
