  1. I just was looking around on youtube and found this...sorta interestin, and very dumb

I was at the game this weekend. I would have to say that k-state has dumbest intro in college football. I don't see how anybody would get jacked up after watching that stupid video. Plus, their color is purple...... dedhoarse

I was at the game too. A little chilly out but still had a blast. I didn't see that stupid video. I was finishing up my brew and made it in just in time to see the pick 6. Their only shining moment, really.

  2. So now that we are officially bowl eligible :horns2

Where do you see us going??

I'm glad we are eligible but I could care less where and who. I just want to see us win out and go 8-4. THEN talk about a bowl game.

  3. Yeah on the running play right before we scored our last TD he took a mean shot to the mid section. You see when he was walking, he was in a lot of pain.

Crap! We can't afford to lose him. Yeah, we have a few other good RB's, but after seeing Helu today, he is the best we have.

  4. :horns2

Man I am sick of all these PPV games. I don't have the money to do that.

Doesn't matter to me...I'll be at the game. If I'm gonna spend the $$ to watch the Huskers, I might as well drive a couple hours and pay to see it first hand. I'm going with KSU fans but I'll be wearing my RED!

    :wasted

  5. My kid had an early out at school today so I told him to kill some time that he should run a couple of "practice games" for me to make sure that all the mock league play worked like it was supposed to. I told him to just pick a team of the "Classic" menu to play and then let er simulate to see what happens. Since he likes to think he's a pretty funny guy, he ran both the Red and the White teams against the 95 Nebraska Cornhuskers....Here's the results (he only e-mailed me the White and Red stats and only those that really matter to an 11 year old kid)

    BIGREDFAN in OMAHA - 1

He wanted me to mention that White receivers suck because they dropped about 10 wide open passes and that the the Huskers ran it up the gut about 50 times in a row on the Red defense and gained about 10 yards each time...

The stage is now set for opening kickoff on Saturday...may the least bad team win!

    As Homer would say...:Wooohooo!!

70 Yards receiving. Not bad to have a 35 YPC average! :)

Keep throwing to me. I won't drop anymore. I promise.

Sorry I couldn't find what everyone wanted to play so I am just assigning based on size. Again sorry it is so late just have been very busy

Huskerjock! If you're our QB, I prefer the post pattern. I'll be open. Just wing it buddy!

  7. Last Saturday's game was postponed till this Saturday due to my daughter's hysterics because her boyfriend could not get leave from Camp Lejune in order to escort her to her high school prom...leaving her to sit or dance with the other "unescorted" girls...now she is traumatized for life. My son is still recovering from the kick to the nuts that she gave him when he had the audacity to laugh about her going by herself.

That...and the fact that both rosters weren't ready until yesterday.... <_<

Look on the bright side...you get one more week of practice.

Can't wait to show off my skillz this Saturday! Thanks for putting all this together Cy.

    p.s.

When did you graduate from ISU? I have some buds that went ISU. I imagine they'd remember someone of such legendary status as yourself.

  8. 1. mtsamuelson - 6'2; 225 lbs. Wouldn't mind being a linebacker of some sort.

    2. Huskermatt - 5'11: 227. Ill play whatever

    3. papersun87 - 5'9.5"; 195 lbs (I played DB once. Might be too short for that now. )

    4. PIMPZILLA - 6' 4"; 250 lbs

    5. huskerjock - 5'11; 180 lbs Outside Linebacker in High School

    6. BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA- 5' 9.5; 215 ( DEFENSE)

    7. hskrpwr13 - 6'2; 200 what the heck. count me in.

    8. huskerinkc- sounds cool. 6', 195 lbs. played WR on offense & CB on D in high school. WR in college for a short while too.

  9. Yes, when you greyshirt you pay your own way for one semester and than are given a scholarship.

greyshirts can play or redshirt the year they commit but count towards the following years scholarship limit.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info. I knew I could get the answers to just about anything NU related on this board.

    GBR!

  10. post-2170-1202277079.jpgJust read the Alabama paper's article on the new commit, Rogers. The article mentions that he came to a visit to Lincoln and brought Wald with him. Wald was offered a Grey shirt from NU. Either I've had too many whiskeys or I've never heard of a Grey Shirt. What is it exactly?
  11. See the threads :)

Rivals has them both in; Scout has at least Marlowe and there was a local newspaper linked in the Rogers thread about Justin's commitment.

SWEET! Thanks for posting the good news. Both already have the speed. Put 'em in the weight room and we'll have a couple more stars! I get chills thinking about getting back to the good 'ol days. It's early, but we are on our way.

  12. I was born in Kearney and a lot of my relatives still live in NE. Due to my dad's job growing up, we moved a lot. Went to school in MI and eventually IA. Then on to college at Minnesota State-Mankato (Mankato State then) so I was extremely happy to see Jamrog join the staff. After all the moves and traveling...Always a die hard Husker. No need to be a UNL grad. to bleed Husker Red.

    QUOTE(Husker B @ Feb 5 2008, 06:46 AM) 305245[/snapback]

This guy is incredible. I just watched his highlight film at Rivals, he's one of the hardest hitters I've seen out of high school in a very long time. Seems to be a ball hawker too, which is nice. I'd love to see the things Pelini could do with the kid, and it would be nice to have a true headhunter in the secondary again, so these 5'10 WRs from Tech and KSU think twice about their slants and skinny posts.

Edit: mods, please merge this to the Mason Wald thread that is in the recruiting forum, thanks. Sorry, it's too early for me.

I am completely with you brother! I just watched his highlight reel on Rivals. Wow! Doesn't hit like a typical high school kid, that is for sure. Sign him up tomorrow boys!!

  14. Fox Sports blog

    Mr. Gill,

I wouldn't normally take the time to write like this, but I had back surgery and I have far more free time than I can stand!

I think the whole world must know by now that Nebraska is suffering a rough patch. As you can imagine, Nebraskan's are foaming at the bit to find out what will happen next. (and for other reasons...)

I know I can't ask you a slew of leading questions on the matter as your probably not at liberty to respond to them, and I respect that.

What do you think of the situation facing Nebraska? Is this a poetic

I guess the big question everyone is asking, with Dr. Tom back, would you consider returning to Nebraska as the Head coach if the offer was right?

Good luck to the Bulls when they face Bowling Green. You and your team would be amazed at the far larger audience that is pulling for you guys.

    Thanks a million,

    My real name etc etc

    Hello Dan,

Thank you for the kind words. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Whatever happens with the Huskers or whatever happens with my future is in God's hands.

    Have a blessed day,

    Turner Gill

I emailed Turner also. I received a response back which really excited me. But now that I read this, I am very disappointed. His response to your email is EXACTLY the same response I received. Word for word. Looks like he is probably getting a ton of emails from Husker fans and has put set his email on out of office assistant.

  15. I want to make clear this isn't a rumor thread. Instead it's an article from Journal Star.

    Five Questions about Gill/Pelini

I think the quick turnaround that Gill did in Buffalo is a good indication that he is the man for this job. Sure, he doesn't have a long term head coaching resume, but he obviously has the experience and knowledge of the game. Put him at Nebraska with TO as the AD we can't go wrong! TO will help him with recruits. Honestly, the thought of having BOTH Turner and TO back in Huskerland give me chills and enormous feeling of good things to come. Something most of us haven't had for a while. On a side note, I sent an email to Turner Gill last night and he actually responded. I asked him to PLEASE accept the job if it was offered to him and he responded "Whatever happens to Nebraska football and my future is in the hands of God". He didn't exactly say he wants the job, but he didn't exactly say he doesn't either.

    TO+Turner Gill= Glory in Huskerland.

  16. How about the head coach from McCook? He has lead the Bison to numerous titles and has done it with virtually zero big time players. Out in western Nebraska, there is not a lot of big name talent. Goes to show you he has a heck of a mind for the game and a desire to win!

  17. How will Pederson & Callahan spin this game?

Callahan, "It was a tremendous game".

Pederson, "There are positives to take from this".

I have one... "OSU has a good team. It was a pretty hard first half, but at least we outscored them in the 2nd half."-- Bill Callahan.
