  1. According to the OWH, in Pederson's contract, there were clauses in there that would justify not paying out the remainder of the contract. They were things such as stealing, cheating, etc. In other words, crimes and so forth. But, there wasn't a performance clause in his, and they said there likely wasn't one in Callahan's contract either. Actually, I'm not even sure it would be legal if it did say, "If you don't win X amount of games, then you don't get paid."

  2. I disagree that they gave up during Ball State. The offense kept fighting hard that day (they had to compensate for the defense, which I don't think gave up, it's just that they weren't being coached well). The offense's perseverance paid off. I think that was the beginning of the slide though. Even though we won the Ball State Game, that's when it all started to snowball, because it all hit the fan after that game. It got progressively worse, and yes, I think by the Mizzou game, and definitely the Okie State game, the players had given up and that trend continues.

  3. Well, I'm still wearing my Huskers jersey today, along with a white Huskers turtleneck underneath. Being a fan is kind of like a marriage vow. "I promise to love and cherish you, in good times and in bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health." Who cares if someone gives you crap or teases you because you're a Cornhusker. So what. It's just a game. Smile, accept their joke, agree with them, and move on. Make their day. Y

es, our team is in the dumps right now. We've been there before, but nor for a long, long time. We can't be king of the hill all the time. Personally, I think it's great that some other teams are doing so well. Look at KU. I'm giddy that they are doing well. That's awesome, and am proud to congratulate a neighbor when we're down and out.

So put on your husker shirts, fly your flags, and be proud of the the Nebraska the Good Life (even if we're taxed to death). It's just a game. The sun still rises each morning, we still get out of bed and go about our day, football isn't everything. Be proud!

  4. TO said he wouldn't make changes until the season is over. Hey Tom, in caes you didn't notice, the season was over "THREE" weeks ago. Do what needs to be done now. There is no way we can even begin to salvage anything meaningful in the remaining 4 games. Bag it now, admit that there's no hope, and do what needs to be done.

  5. Perlman said that the buyout was coming from UNL money that was earmarked for the athletic department. So, in theory, the money could have been donated by Buffett, who contributes to the general fund, and that "general" fund is now shifting a tankload of dough to the athletic department.

  6. I think the holding up the shoes is in reference to our kicker, Adi Kunalic. He's got a very strong leg, and tied the school record for the number of kicking touchbacks in the first game against Nevada. He's also a freshman.
