    This dude has some serious speed.. Crazy..

     

     

    Man that is crazy speed. Did this guy burn us a few times during our game? I cant remember.

    What Bo Inherited -- expectations

    When we last saw Bo coaching the NU defense, Bo had some serious talent that he inherited. The 2003 Husker defense featured no fewer than 10 future NFL players in prominent roles: Ryon Bingham, Le Kevin Smith, Trevor Johnson, Adam Carriker, Barrett Ruud, Demorrio Williams, Fabian Washington, Josh Bullocks, Daniel Bullocks and Jerrell Pippens. And, of course, that defense did very well.

     

    This time around, Bo has inherited a defense where, perhaps Suh, maybe Dillard, perhaps Asante --- and well, I can not think of anyone else that might have NFL futures that he inherited. Even if we are very liberal with our assessment and say Suh, Asante, Dillard, Turner and maybe someone else is NFL caliber that means instead of inheriting 10 future NFL defenders he will inherit 5 at best. So....

     

     

    Do not expect miracles. Do not expect this defense to even approach the defense we had the last time Pelini coached here.

     

    Be reasonable with the expectations. if we move from the #115 defense nationally to say the #40 that would be awesome.

     

    This is a serious question. I didn't watch the Huksers in 03.

     

    Before Bo came, how many of those 10 NFL players played like NFL players? I HIGHLY doubt all 10 of them did.

    I don't see why people say it is so impossible to have a 9-10 win season next year. Lets look at the schedule....

    09/27 Virginia Tech -------------------- W 4-0

    10/04 Missouri -------------------------- L 4-1

    10/11 @ Texas Tech ------------------- W 5-1

    10/18 @ Iowa State ------------------- W 6-1

    10/25 Baylor --------------------------- W 7-1

    11/01 @ Oklahoma -------------------- L 7-2

    11/08 Kansas -------------------------- W 8-2

    11/15 @ Kansas St. ------------------ W 9-2

    11/28 or 29 Colorado ---------------- W W 10-2

     

    I am saying Kansas win and Mizzou loss, but really i think we win one of those and lose the other. I hope its Kansas we beat, so I don't have to put up with their BS.. because I live in lawrence.

     

    I see 2 sure losses and 5-6 gimmies.

     

    2 sure losses: (KU/MU) and OU

    Gimmies: Western Mich, San Jose, NMS, ISU, Baylor, (KSU or CU)

    The rest are toss ups, and since most of the games are at home I see no reason why we cant go 10-2 this season. I will not make a prediction on the bowl game till I found out who we play and I see how our season is going first.

    I will try to make it.

     

    i dont know if I can. I cannot drive yet. I went to the 06 spring game. Was fun.

     

    honestly, for me it wasnt the game that was good... it was being in memorial stadium for the first time. what an experience!

     

    Hope I can make it and hope to see a lot of you guys there.

    I honestly don't see the the cause of the lovefest for KU.

     

    They played a lot of crappy teams, and beat those teams. 2. Yes TWO teams on their schedule at the end of the season were ranked. They were dominated for 3 quarters by one of them, and went on to lose

     

    Then they played VaTech. VT is an interesting team without a doubt. They, too, are in the same boat as KU. They played 3 total games vs ranked teams, and lost 2 of those games. One of em they lost by like 40.

     

     

    I am not sold on KU. They play smart football, but, they just dont recruit well enough to be able to hang with top teams that arent overrated.

    My Predictions for next year

    Don't hold me to these, I will most likely change them before the season starts.

     

    Let me start off by saying that I dont think we lose that much from last year. Yes we lose those like Ruud and others, but most of them were under-achievers anyway. I think their backups looked as good or better then them.

     

    OFFENSE:

    Remember last year in the first half of a couple games. I think specificlly the A&M game, the Texas game, the Kansas game and maybe more... Watson called the plays. We scored points. We looked GOOD until Callahan started calling the games again.

     

    I think with Watson calling the plays we will be fine on O.

     

    DEFENSE:

    We lose some starters from a D that was very underachieving all year. Just about anyone is better the Coz.

     

    What it all boils down to is this:

    How fast can Bo turn around the defense?

     

    If he can turn it around and turn into just somewhat of a good defense this year we will be solid. If he can work miricles and turn it into top 30 or top 20 then I would bow down to the Great Pelini 5 times a day.

     

    I would say a good, safe prediction for next year is 8 wins.

    My prediction: is 9 or 10 wins

    If Bo works miricles: 11+ wins

    Question on Bo's Defense

    I am really liking what I hear about this guy. Sounds like the players really like him. (Just from reading waht Dorsey had to say and hearing some things that hte 03 defensive players said)

     

    When I was watching the game last night I saw LSU DBs doing something that I liked.

     

    When they were running down the field with 1v1 coverage, they looked at the WR, but knew when to turn around.

     

    Maybe it was just my imagination, but its what I saw.

    This just in: Oregon is beatable... by a lot..

     

    I looked at their schedule. They only have on loss, but that was to saint marys. They almost lost to KSU, and, they are up by 4 at halftime against some nobody.

     

    Im thinking 11 non-confrence wins, and 10 big 12 wins. 21, and then we play in the big 12 tournament... if we can pull some wins there, we could make the tournament.

     

    Then again, i have no idea if this team is good enough to do it.

    Alright guys. If you dont know how to run a macro to help TO this link has step by step instructions on what EXACTLY to do.

     

    Once you complete these and get it going, open another firefox or 2 or 3 and set them all to do the same thing.. leave it on over night.. and during the day.
