  1. as much as Clemsons linebackers bite on the run...why not run a play action pass to the tight end???

What are tomorrow's Massachusetts lottery numbers?

wish i knew...i'd share the earnings...lol...we need to add that play that Tommie Frazier used to run SO well...the "play option pass"...one of my all time favorite Husker plays...great for teams with aggressive linebackers

  2. Watching the NO v ATL game in the waning, rather boring, last minutes of MNF tonight and I see this HUGE hit put on Michael Jenkins of ATL...guy rolls over after crushing Jenkins and his name is Shanle...I say "no f'ing way" and they say Scott Shanle and sure enough I am blown away.

    1. Had no idea Shanle was playing professional ball

    2. Had no idea he could bring the wood like he did to Jenkins the the 4th quarter of MNF tonight

    :dunno

  3. I always hated the BCS and now they've affirmed my hatred for this ridiculous determination of the best college football team in the country.

Missouri was completely PUNKED by the BCS....Kansas with a schedule strength of 100+ gets to the Orange Bowl over Missouri with a schedule strength of 20 something and only two losses (to the same team)...OMG, I'm sure there is a complete meltdown going on in Columbia right about now

  4. If we do actually hire Bo like ESPN says I feel that we are gonna regret skipping over a guy like Gill who in a few years will be at a BCS school.

I cannot agree with you more.

It's not a step back if he comes to Nebraska as an "assistant" head coach knowing that he is the heir apparent to the Husker football program....I don't think this is a reach by any means....I also don't think it will probably happen

  5. If this act doesn't make you understand how TO is a living legend when it comes to Nebraska football, nothing else will....we could probably count the number of ex-coaches who became athletic directors for their schools and then as AD went out to recruit football players using one finger....the index finger raised as #1 for TO

Tom Osborne IS the very core of what Nebraska football is all about.

  6. I was at Colby Ridge one evening with my 10 year old son and TO walked in to order some ice cream...my sons jaw dropped to the table. I told my son to take a napkin up and ask for his autograph...my son was pretty shy about doing this and hesitated while looking over with napkin and pen in hand...he stood up and then sat down really quickly again and said "dad, i can't"....TO overheard this and walked right over to my son and said he'd love to sign and autograph for him...I was completely blown away and my son never forgets to tell that story to all his friends.

    TO is the man!

  7. Something to keep in mind about scheduling is that they do this 3 or 4 years out don't they?....sometimes its hard to tell if a team will still be good or bad when that 3-4 years comes along. USC was not a dominant powerhouse that they are today when we first put them on the schedule years ago for the 2006-2007 seasons.

You can take a good stab at some teams but who knows...I'm sure we didn't think Virginia Tech was going to be Top 10 material when we scheduled them a few years back.

  8. he and his staff seemed very willing to communicate with the high school coaches from what little I recall).

I'm having a hard time agreeing with your statements about Callahan

Sounded like during TO's press conference on Saturday that he mentioned that Callahan and company had "lost" some of the high school coaches and that one of his primary agenda items was to "get them back" as he built up the recruiting within the state in the coming years. Where do you recall that he did a good job with state high school coaches?

He also was blatantly disrespectful of Osborne from what it sounds like calling him a "crusty old XXXX"...I think he put on a pretty damn good show in front of the camera but behind the scenes I firmly believe he had no respect for the history of Nebraska football.

Goodbye and good riddance...Callahan didn't do a damn good thing for Nebraska football and I think your argument otherwise is completely flawed
