There is no one person on D that has a make or break tag on them. Jones better step up, He was as bad if not worse than Grix last year. Bowman will be back. His therapist said his PT has been good.

Bowman would have been the first CB taken this year, if he was healthy, no doubt in my mind..

He would have run Sub 4.4 or right above 4.4 and with his size the NFL teams would have fell in love with him, he would have been a Top 10-15 pick

Grixby has his size limitations, but I *believe* he is solid on technique and experience. I'm not as low on him as many of you are. IF Murillo can develop the defensive awareness that will propel him above Grixby on the depth chart, then good for him and the secondary.

 

I'd like it better if Bowman were healthy, but that's a tough injury he's got and I would not count on him coming back, or coming back 100%. Even if he does, it's been a long time since he's been out on the field running with the receivers.

 

Besides, I'd like to believe this Husker team is too tough to let a few individual losses affect their season. A lot of it is just about guys stepping up, keeping the team together, staying focused. We - and other teams - have suffered bigger losses and just pulled through the end, whether it meant QB-turned-Flankers returning to the QB position, or 3rd string QBs stepping into the lineup and winning games.

I thought he played alright. Without that cast, he might have played better especially against Purify.

Just alright? Are you serious? He has 0 d1 experience and played his butt off against one of the top WR in the Big 12, this guy is way ahead of Jones and Bowman. He will see a bunch of PT, and we will be 4 deep if Bowman comes back healthy

Larry Asante and Armando Murillo will have big impacts on this team next year, and it is great that they are both secondary players, that was easily the weakest area of our team, and they both will help sure up there respective positions.

Getting Bowman back doesn't hurt either. Last year we were 70th in pass defense, next year we should be top 30-40.

Bill Busch has stated before that the safety positions can switch depending on how the offense lines up. So the safeties probably know both positions. I think it mostly matters how we play out of the base defense against balanced formations.

Yea it seemed like Green and Shanle were both communicated a lot this season

Don't get me wrong, we can beat them, and I think we have a very good chance, we really need to play great defense in that game and shut down there green receivers..we need to make them one dimensional and get the running game going

LG:Christensen/Williams-then Williams starts by the end of the year

C:Byford/Roark-Roark pushes for PT big time

RG:Slauson/Huff

RT:Nicks/Murtha

This will be the smallest position move for him, and he is much better at FS.....SS is for bigger guys and for run support

when we play a nickel I see Grixby moving to that role and Murillo and Jones splitting time across from Bowman..

I could also see Culbert or Thenarse pushing Green for PT

USC returns the whole defense, Booty will be better in his second year, they are stacked at Oline, and stacked at WR, they won't be putting anyone less then a 5* at receiver, they have like 4 or 5 5* Rbs..They are loaded..you are crazy to think they will not be better..

Its very sad to say but we are going to get it handed to us bad next year. I wish we didnt schedule this game.

 

Huh? I think I may be more concerned about Wake Forest than USC. The USC game is in Lincoln and USC will be even worse than they were this season. Jerrett is gone and we should be improved. I am more concerned with some in conference games than any of our ooc games next season.
