  1. Boy, what are we going to do when ol' Dr. Tom has passed on and he can't come bail our a$$es out anymore? We going to drag his carcass out and sit it behind a podium and talk like a ventriloquist so that all fans can be soothed on why things aren't going well? Seriously, I like T.O. but I think it's dangerous that we coming running back to daddy for help.

you sir are a moron, he will bring leadership class and crediability back to this program!!

  2. I dont know if this is a good idea. It might work but this is the same man who in a way forced the decision to name Solich as coach after him. Also I think he said he did support/recommend Pederson.

dude seriously ya gotta stop smoking the crack man TO is the only choice and the right man for the job :w00t:woo:bonez !!!!!!!!!

  3. Yeah, I left early (5:00 left in the 4th, so not too early). Mostly because I'd rather watch football and not grown men play pattycake. And mainly because there was another Big XII North team playing that I'm more of a fan. Thank God for a storm delay in Lawrence or else I wouldn't of gotten to watch a team beat up on a south team like they should. Yesterday's loss to Oklahoma State was pretty much the end of the season. The dagger was in, and Okie St. came in and twisted it, finishing the Huskers off for good. I'd try to sell my remaining tickets for the games, but word on the street is you can't even give them away anymore.

At least there is still tailgating before the games.

do not EVER post here agian!! or ill beat your ass into the ground!! :box

  4. Does anyone think that there is a real possability of Osborne coming back to be the AD????

I don't know. I can almost see Osborne being too stubborn to take the job. I would love for him to do it, but wouldn't be surprised if he didn't take the job, assuming it's offered.

i wish he would but i dont think he will if he was gonna come back he wouldnt have retired

  10. I'm not embarassed to be from Nebraska.

I'm not embarassed to be a fan of the Cornhuskers.

I'm not embarassed for the kids who are playing this year.

I won't even be embarassed if we lose the rest of our games.

But!! I am embarassed because, once again I have to say my dad was right. the next time I see him, I will have to say, "Damn, Dad. You were so right about Pedersen and his hiring of Callahan. And the way they screwed over HuskerNation." I don't know if Solich would be doing real well today, obviously we never will.

But even if he had gotten fired later or they would have hired other Nebraska people, we could be doing it our way. I asked my dad why he thought Callahan wasn't a good hire and why he hated Pud so much. After all Pud is from Neb, right? And my dad said Pud is an egotistical, stubborn, know-it-all. No one took the job at first because everyone has too much respect for Solich and the way it went down, which in turn led to NO respect for Pud and why he fired Frankie. Coaching circles are REALLY tight knit. They look out for each other and stand up for each other. No one took the job here cuz no one wanted to coach for Pud, my dad told me. I said bullcrap, everything will be just fine. Callahan will learn what this is all about.

My dad was still friends with the secretary who worked for Osborne and Solich every single day they were at memorial stadium. He knew Callahan wouldn't work when, she told my dad the day he got there he took down a giant picture over his desk of the state of Nebraska with a Big N in the middle that had been there since the late 60's (i even remember it as a kid). In its place was a picture of himself (Bill) wearing Raiders gear on the sidelines of the NFL during the Super Bowl. Two weeks later he fired the secretary and anyone else working in the office who was from Oz and Solich. My dad would give me an update of about a dozen stories exactly like this one over the following months from people he knew inside the program. I should have recognized.

I said who cares? he wants his own people in there. let him go for changes and get the program into the 21st century...etc, etc...But damn it, i was wrong!! Those people, that picture, the offices, the trophies--they ARE Nebraska! They are who the program is. My dad is a fomer coach and player and was involved in the University for almost 12 years of his life. He has never been invited or informed of any functions or speaking engagements or camps or ANYTHING since Bill has got there.

But I turned a blind eye. I said the wins will speak for themselves. Pretty quiet, huh? Geez, I gotta look @ my dad and brothers and say it...I was wrong and we need Ron Brown back here. Turner Gill. Monte Kiffin.

    Scott Downing. Osborne for AD.

I feel bad for all of us cuz we were straight up lied to and dumped on. And now we can't even get real answers to the problems or a fair assesment from the AD or HC. ENOUGH!! I am not embarassed to be a Huskerfan. I am just ready for this nightmare to be over.

great post!! im with ya all the way!!

  11. Obviously, we all want to defend our Big XII north title. But at the same time, the way we are playing, would anybody really want to face off against Oklahoma? I just think that if we were to get to San Antonio, we would get beat like CU did by Texas a couple years ago (70-3), and the last thing this program needs is another embarrassing drubbing. I don't know, just a thought. Obviously I hope we do well in conference play, but I'm almost hoping that MU keeps going so we don't have to get killed by OU.

It's sad to think that this is what has become of the Big Red. Hoping to avoid blowout losses.

are you frigging kidding me get the hell outta here with that crap wtf is wrong with you!!!!!! :asshat

  12. Tiger fan here who was at the game.

I know Nebraska has some issues right now, and I think it's very legitimate to question the coaching and play calling. Obvisouly, you guys have recruited a lot of talent and I understand your frustrations. Nebraska is used to pounding the ball down the throats of their opponents and winning division titles and championships. If I were a Husker fan, it would be easy to expect northing less than excellence. I wish we had a third of the football tradition Nebraska has.

That said, anyone here giving props to Mizzou? What do you think of our chances to beat OU and make it to the division game? Are we orverrated?

dude go pump up mizzou somewhere else ad tell your coach to get some class

  13. Trev Alberts. Bo Pelini (I think he would come back with a little finesse, and with promise of a head-coaching position). Turner Gill. Jason Peter. George Bush. Eric Crouch. -- All people looking for something...perhaps Nebraska football is the answer?

There is still the problem of actually getting any of those people to come in mid-season.

And how would we know unless we actually tried?

    agreed :bonez

  14. The argument of, "Well this guy sucks, so let's just bring anyone and hope for the best," rarely works out. So once again, still waiting for someone to suggest a suitable mid-season replacement."

Man...I think you're missing the point. All those folks that you mocked by paraphrasing 'oh, let's bring in anyone other than Coz' have a valid point.

That point being, it's not THEIR job to ensure that when one is fired that there is an adequate or better replacement. That's not OUR job. It's not YOUR job.

That's what we pay/paid Steve Pederson and all the athletic directors before him to do. And we pay, might I add, Stevie a hefty salary.

If it were up to me, our team would already have been back to an option program with a Doritos logo on our helmets. That's why I'm not IN CHARGE.

    I don't tolerate devil's-advocates.

Not now. Your devil's advocate viewpoint might have flown before last night, I don't think it holds any water after 41-6.

For one, it's not a devil's advocate viewpoint. Secondly, we pay people to bring in good coaches, yes, but it doesn't matter how much you pay someone to bring in good coaches when there is nobody to bring in mid-season. If we had someone I thought was suitable to bring in or promote, I'd be the first person screaming for Cosgrove to be gone tomorrow.

As I've already said, Wyatt is about the only person within the program I would consider possibly suitable. I've listed my concerns about why it still wouldn't be the best decision. I'm not going over them yet again when you can clearly read and should be able to see them for yourself.

Does that mentality also condone the type of performance we witnessed tonight, solely because we "can't find a replacement mid-season"?

Keep that up, and we're in for a long, redundant (Cosgrove-schemed) season.

[/quotPederson dude i just want to frickin punch that guy in the mouth every time i see him!!!! :madash
