  1. Saying "42 points should be enough" is kinda like the "9 wins should be enough" argument. I guess if we're just looking at absolute number values, yeah, that's kind of a lot of points, but in that situation HOW DO YOU NOT GIVE AMEER THE BALL??? I don't care if his offense produced up to that point, they sh#t the bed when it counted the most. How typical.

Given that he had Armstrong throwing 50 times, often while rolling out and throwing back across his body while off-balance, I think it's a miracle they put up as many points as they did. Pointing to the scoreboard only tells a small part of the story tonight.

I'm glad I don't have to think about Tim Beck's clown ass ever again.

  2. After watching the BTN re-broadcast last night, it was at 5:07 left in the 3rd quarter. From the ESPN broadcast you can see the kick if you're looking specifically for it, but it's from quite a distance away.

I've been in contact with Bill Carollo, head of officials, and he's been quite cordial and seems to be looking into it. Unfortunately, I don't know the woman's name, or her network affiliation. So, I'm hopeful there's a better angle that the league can get ahold of, because what was on the broadcast isn't all that clear. I hope she comes forward as well.

If anything, a stern reprimand would get the guy to get his act together...

So I just watched the replay on BTN2Go and beginning at 5:15 left in the 3rd you can see the ref moving back the media and then it appears he kicks someone behind him but it is very difficult to see and it happens a split second before the camera angle changes. If you subscribe to a cable/dish provider that has access to BTN2Go you can view the game replay at http://www.btn2go.co...school/nebraska and then fast forward to 1:40:00 and watch the left side of the screen where the media sits. I had to rewind it several times to see it.

Just watched this. That's crazy, he definitely put some "umph" into that kick. What a prick

The footage is from the opposite sideline, zoomed way out, and they cut away right as it looks like he is "kicking." Kinda hard to tell IMO.

  3. I've had this feeling for a long time and can't shake it. I think this expansion will have some sort of physical failure and kill or injure many people. Goodness I hope I'm wrong.

    Holy sh#t dude.

Scale of 1 to 10, 10 being "Wow that was a really relevant and enlightening comment and I'm glad you shared it," that was probably a negative nine nundred forty six.

f'd up enough that I actually logged into Huskerboard to post something.

  4. This guy made at least 3 of the 10 dumbest plays in the history of Nebraska football. By himself. It should not be a surprise that lot of people feel that the negative vastly outweighs the positive with Niles Paul.

    The Iowa State fumble

    The other Iowa State fumble

    The Texas Tech lateral

None of this "he's a Husker!" crap. The guy's a shmuck.

I didn't even list the horrific drops. Just think back on some of the mortifying crap this guy did on the field. It boggles the mind. He is a blooper reel. No debate here, folks.

  5. What propelled them into the rankings was defeating a overhyped undefeated Baylor team.

Baylor getting pounded by aTm apparently doesn't hurt their resume in this week's poll.

However, their last 4 games still look pretty good. They have won at Miami, at home vs Baylor and Mizzou, and at TT. None of those teams are world beaters, but it's arguably more than NU has accomplished. Washington is now 5-1 and in the top 25, so that looks like a decent win (they play Stanford next week, so we'll see how far they have come). Other than that, the only win worth noting is vs. a depleted Ohio State team. Getting ass pounded by Wisconsin isn't helping us either.

I think Nebraska would win home or away against K State. I don't think they could contain our offense for 60 minutes, and I don't think too highly of their offense. I also don't see them sustaining this level of success through October/November. However, if you had told me after the NU-KSU game last year that at this point in 2011 KSU would be undefeated and ranked ahead of us, I would have sh#t.

  6. KSU is a decent, yet seriously flawed team. It seems like they have been winning primarily because the D is making people 1-dimensional and getting timely turnovers. They have made some big special teams plays, but they are very inconsistent. The had a KO return TD last night, but missed a PAT and FG, and gave up an onside kick at the end.

Their offense will stall completely when they play a good defense.

  7. I have been so sick/busy lately things have not really sunk in yet... as a Nebraska/Chiefs fan it was crazy. both team were down at one time by a combined 38 points at one point. both staged the biggest comeback in team history.... they scored a combined 49 unanswered points to end their respective games..... pretty wild

Yeah and both have bye weeks now. Kinda weird.

  8. The entire first half was pathetic. It felt like October 2007 all over again--hopeless. It was that bad (like I really have to point that out). The fans who booed likely weren't just booing the pass, they were booing the whole pathetic effort. At least, that's how I felt at the time. I don't fault them for booing. If the team wants everybody's vocal support, the least they could do is show a damn pulse when the game kicks off.

Aside from the boos, the other thing that people are talking about today is how loud Memorial was in the fourth quarter. Our fan base isn't pathetic. We're just not stupid enough to take a sh#t sandwich with gratitude.

  9. I understand that there may be some motivational value to the "circle the wagons" mentality, but I'm starting to worry about how much the players and coaches are calling out the media and fans. I don't think any member of the media crossed the line last week. I also think that an athlete or coach at that level should have learned by now that social media should basically be ignored.
