  1. Alright fine!!!! I'll move there and open one up will that make you happy!? j/k Check Plan-it Husker and see what they got. It's below the football forum on the main page. :thumbs

No luck. We're getting the Illinois/Penn St. game instead of the Husker game here for some reason. Off to the bar I guess!

  2. I don't want to give the impression that this board or I condone betting in any way, but how much personally does everyone have riding on this game?

I bet a "bag of popcorn" this morning to some bloomin' idiot at work, he gave me 10 points.

I wanted to bet when I was in Vegas, but they only had the lines on the games out one week before the games, and I was there mid-August. If I were there, I would bet $50-$100 on Nebraska regardless of the points. We're expected to lose, so I'm willing to bet that we are going to do better than the so-called "experts".

Just trying to gague the level of belief in us Husker fans. :)

This may be sacreligious on this board but I like to bet against the huskers when they are the underdogs (especially this weekend). That way if they lose by a lot I win money and if they play well I lose money but I'm happy that they played well.

  3. I,m pretty dumb when It come's to points spread's but i was wondering wat the spread was for this week;s game? also if for example if it says ( Nebraska +5.5) does that mean we are favord by 5.5 or Underdog's by 5.5? the +'s And -"s are wat confuse me about the spread's Any help would be appricate'd thanks

Also, the + sign means that team is the underdog and the - sign is the favorie. So for this weeks game we would be -21 since we are the favorite. They do it that way because if you bet on us to win, you would take away (minus) 21 of our points after the game and if we're still ahead than you win the bet.

Nevada would be +21 for this game. If you bet on them you would be "taking the points".

  4. Just wanted to see what people thought about changing the current uniforms. I know in the past there's been some switching of the "Adidas" logo from the middle of the jersey to the right shoulder and the deletion of the shoulder stripes around 2002, but nothing major. We seem kind of limited since we only have two colors, while a lot of other schools have 3. Maybe throw some black in the mix. I think changing the N from a single-lined letter to an outlined style (like on the 50-yard line) would be cool.

I don't want to sound dramatic but changing the N on the helmets is a horrible idea. The classic thin N on the helmets is my favorite part of the entire uniform. Could you imagine Michigan or USC adding a colored outline to their helmets?

  5. does ne1 know what we are ranked in the bcs preseason or ne of the other polls???? :moreinteresting

    I've seen 13 through 15.

  8. I'm really excited about Keller's potential at Nebraska as well but let's remember, the reason he is here is because he was demoted to second string at Arizona State.

Best case scenario: he was the best qb at ASU, and that's why the coach orginally named him the starter at the beginning of this season, but his teammates rallied around Rudy Carpenter since he led them through the end of the 2005 season. They just liked Carpenter better and that's why the urged the coch to make the switch.

Worst case scenario: he was a locker room cancer at ASU and his teammates know something that nobody else does which is why they urged their coach to make the switch.

I think that everyone we'll be keeping a close eye on how he relates with his fellow huskers throughout the offseason and first few games.

  9. Enough of the Bosie state for president.

They beat Oklahoma, not SC, not Ohio State, not Florida, not LSU or a host of other teams more talented.

Oklahoma got mauled by Texas early in the year. Oregon beat them. (with the hlep of Officials)

A lot more motivation for Boise than Oklahoma in this game.

Go back for the last 8 years and tell me how many teams that were not ranked in the top 5 of recruiting won the NC. ZERO!!!!

Look at those ranked in the top 10 in recruiting and see where they finished up ranked by year.

    All will be there.

This all changed in 97, recruiting ranking has proven over and over again. You can doubt it all you want, but the cream rises to the top.

We are not close to the talent level of a top ten program. I doubt we are ever going to be. So you need a staff the players trust and can motivate them to over achieve (Boise State). Hopefully BC is the that person. To early to know one way or another. But if the players feel he is the man to do it, who am I to say he isn't.

Look at Ohio State: They were #5 in '02, #41 in 03, #9 in '04, #12 in '05, and #12 again this past season.

On the other hand look at Florida State: #4 in '02, #21 in '03, #3 in '04, #2 in '05, and #3 this past season.

Judging by those recruiting rankings you would think it was Florida State in the National Championship game this year and not Ohio State. Recruiting is important but as far as ranking go, I think you can compete for a National Championship if you are consistently in the top 20.
