  1. I was shocked to look over our list and see that Rozier and Crouch had not been listed.

I think we should also include Deion Sanders (Miami). Neon Deion should have a chance against these guys.

I'll second Neon Deion. He played for Florida St. though.

How about Sean Taylor? The guy was a bruising safety and always seem to come up with big INT's, quite aq few for touchdowns.

  2. Eric Casilious (sp) also said that Favre should be MVP this year over Brady, today. Although Brett has had a great year and has less weapons, you just can't argue against Brady this year. ESPN Radio sucks anyway. 1/2 hour of show, 1/2 hour of commercials.

  3. Coming from Lawrence, KS I am a Chiefs fan. But living in Houston, the Texans are growing on me. I still rooted for the Chiefs in the season opener down here, (wearing my old Ahman Green Husker jersey), but I can't help cheer for the Texans in all other games. They also have Ahman and Kris Brown, who happens to be one of the best kickers in the NFL this year.

  4. All I know is that this weekend when I was listening to the game, I actually knew what the score was and where the ball was after only listening intermittently. So that's better than Rose... I was about to get on here and praise him for doing a decent job... but alas... it wasn't even him.

Listen to NFL announcers and you'll know exactly what is wrong with Rose... you have no idea what the hell is going on in the game when he talks... down... distance... score... none of that.

I think his big problem is that he forgets that he can see the action but people listening can't. He doesn't have to say exactly what's happening at the moment... mess it up and then correct it. He can wait for the play to happen, and then articulate what he saw while the next play is lining up. Patience... down and distance...

Alright, I kinda understand. But for me I listen to the Huskers on radio, because I can't see it. When I lived in Lawrence, KS, I could always go to the game or catch it on TV. Now that I'm in Texas I don't have that option and I am thrilled to pick it up on the net. I listen to pro announcers all the time. I used to listen to Len and Mitch while I watched KC games. They may not have been the best but I loved Mitch's excitement and Len's critical bastardness. Down here in Cypress, TX I listen to every Texans game and those announcers do a hell of job also. I guess bottom line I just don't look for THAT much out of the radio announcer. I just like someone that gets a little excited and keeps me entertained. I'm just happy as hell I get to listen to the team I love no matter who is telling me about it. I'll nit pick that the next time we are 10-0.

  5. Grant Wistrom for assistant DC.

Yea, that's a good idea. You do realize he just started coaching HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL right?

You are just a beacon of sunshine in every post you make! Brighten my day every time!

I can never and will never understand why some people think former players will automatically be OMG TEH BEST COACH EVER1!! That idea by itself is just plain dumb IMO.

That being said there are MANY MANY good coaches the were former players. The idea that players can not be good coaches is also "just plain dumb"

Read my post again. Player as coaches based ONLY on the fact that they were players is dumb.

I'm not saying he should be a coach JUST because he was a player. I will admit that I was a little over excited by naming him DC, but I do think having him on the staff would be a good TRY at the very least. He was ONE of the best defensive players we ever had and a Pro Bowler at that. I certainly think he could be a defensive line coach. As far as being a high school coach, I think he would drop that in a heartbeat to bring the Blackshirt tradition back to Nebraska.

  6. I'm sorry, I'm not an Ag, but I am curious where you went to high school topekahusker. I'm a '93 grad from Rossville. And speaking of fans, I work ON the A&M campus and there is only one group of fans better than the Aggies. And I think you know who they are. :bonez

  7. I don't know spefically, but I want a defensive guy, and just runs a simple offense and an aggresive defense.

    His name would be Marty.

Hope not. Was happy when he was at KC that way I knew my Chiefs buddies were never going to get to the superbowl. :)

THAT is very true. But I guarantee he wouldn't let us get embarrased anymore. We would just lose in the Big XII Championship EVERY year lol.

  8. But don't forget one thing. I witnessed the Oklahoma Sooner fans during their DARK YEARS. They wouldn't wear their Sooner gear or wave their Sooner Flags until the second year of Stoops when they started winning. We have to be better than that. I took my flag out yesterday and put it on my truck and will display it proudly and I live in Oklahoma. If I can do it, so can everyone else. The Huskers will be back and the program needs our support NOW. I don't want to suffer through another wrong coaching change...

I'm wearing something red everyday this upcoming week. Too bad no one in Boston has any clue what's going on...

No worries there. Hell last week I was at the LSU/Fla game proudly sporting my Husker hat. Funny thing is a dude, four rows lower that me, just beyond the wall separating the lower level from the field, had a Nebraska shirt on. Right in the Bowels of Death Valley, still supporting out 'Skers.
