  1. I'll add a couple more, both include outcomes that definately sucked...

2006 Texas comes to Lincoln....it's a great day for football, and I'm with my dad and cousin for the game. we have great seats for home games so i'm a little spoiled..which is why I make the 6 hour trip to Lincoln as often as I can. Anyway, if you were at this game you understand what i'm about to say. For about 5 minutes in this game I was literally almost choked up at the scene I was witnessing...the Huskers were on the upset trail, the crowd is as vocal as i've seen in a long time and then the snow begins to falll...it was not a normal snow...it was almost magical...it was honestly one of the most breathtaking football scenes i've ever witnessed...

This is my fav. Those 5mins when the snow started falling was one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in my life football or no. It sucked that it ended the way it did but such is life. Simply an unforgettable experience.

My second fav has to be 1992 Kansas, my first game with my old man. Takes me to the south stadium where the locker room used to be, sets my skinny 6 year old frame on his shoulders and we watch as the players exit the locker room and make their way to the field not but 10 ft. away from us. In my head i'm thinking "These guys are huge! Kansas is screwed" An experience I hope to pass on to my kids someday.

  2. Whats sad is he needs an 18 and can't get it. It not hard to pull an 18, I got a 20 and never really prepared for it. I hope everything works out for the young man, but it makes you wonder if he'll will be disciplined and smart enough to learn the offense let alone pass his classes.

This is simply not at all how it works. An ACT proves nothing as far as your capability to learn, especially when you're comparing math and football or reading and football. The ACT doesn't prove much about a person as a student, either. Back when I was taking the ACT, I scored 9 points higher than my girlfriend. Yet her college GPA was .7 points higher than mine at graduation (she also had a harder major).

How long has he been taking this test? Has to be at least a year. Granted a test like this means nothing in the long run, or in his ability to remember formations however, it contains basic building blocks for courses he will be taking as he progresses in his major. If he is serious about college then he should be well informed of the material on the test.

I'm not saying this test replicates his make-up as a person, it's just that after multiple attempts he has yet to "pass" a test as he shooting for the minimum score. An "F" more or less.

  3. Whats sad is he needs an 18 and can't get it. It not hard to pull an 18, I got a 20 and never really prepared for it. I hope everything works out for the young man, but it makes you wonder if he'll will be disciplined and smart enough to learn the offense let alone pass his classes.

  4. He sure did look clueless. He looked like a red-shirt freshman QB playing against a damn good defense and a very good coaching staff. This stuff happens all the time but If you don't think this will be a motivation booster your as misinformed as I figured.

  5. No off the field problems or transfers, thats what i want to see!

As far as players Burkhead. Next year i think he will really hit the holes hard. WR's, their play next year will be key if we want to move forward to 10, 11... etc. wins.

    Oh and these guys :bonez

  6. We are an O-line short on offense. The pipe-line both on offense and defense is what made Nebraska, NEBRASKA. You can dictate play on the relative side of the ball, playmakers then follow suit.

  7. Personally I like the fact that I can listen without being dooped.

i.e. Helu to the 20, Helu to the 10, HELU TO THE 5, and Helu is dropped for a 3 yard gain to the 17 yard line.

I'm exaggerating a little but you get the idea. Man stuff like that got annoying.

  8. I haven't heard much about Rickey since the injury. I already miss seeing him out there. I know some people who have met him and they said great things about him. I know what we have all seen on the field. I have a ton of respect for this guy!

Rickey, if you should happen to read this, all of Husker Nation can't wait to have you back! I was so bummed when I saw you go down, but sometimes God allows things to happen for a reason. I know it is bitter sweet, but I am so happy you will be with us one more year. Many of us in Nebraska are praying for you. GO BIG RED!

    :yeah

The players from the pre-game, lot XX, football game. It went the same way as the real game...

I'll never forget my first game as long as I live. I was 7 at the time and two things were present in my mind. 1) The Huskers are the greatest team ever, and 2) My dad is the greatest man ever. That is a great story. The little guy will remember it forever.

    Great Job Dad :thumbs

  10. Congrats Boys. I was stuck behind Todd in high school Ball, and to me he is the epitome of what it means to be be a husker. He was a small town kid, that never let that dream of putting on that helmet and going through the tunnel die. He is damn fine student-athlete.

It was one hell of a ride watching the 9, but we are better fans because of them, and they worked very hard for what they earned.

  11. I'm down with boring.

As far a sports go I'm the same way. It's always fun to root for the dog. I am a big Gonzaga fan but the huskers are a different story. If they lose it basically ruins my weekend and if it's bad like last year, the loss spills over till mid week. About Wed. my optimistic fandom kicks in and it's like the 94 huskers all over again.

All part of being a fan. Makes me feel like I'm a part of the team, right above the equipment guys, but below the trainers. I'm there to show unwavering fanatic support. If they lose I lose, but when they win I win.

To bad fandom doesn't come with a salary.

Welcome to the light side. Hopefully you'll get lucky like I did, and not have to deal with a loss for a couple of years. 92-97 was one hell of a ride. :w00t

  12. 94 Orange Bowl. Bennett's kick goes wide left and the phantom push in the back call to nullify the Cory Dixon punt return for a touchdown that would of propeled NU to the only team in history to win 3 consecutive Natl Championships!

I hit my desk out of anger just now. 15 years and it still pisses me off.

  13. That is classic....I am sure Thorell was thinking he was screwed once he saw the TE running to the endzone....at least he walked towards Bo. If I were him, I would have tried to stay as far away from him as long as I could. At least he made a great play later on to help him out during film....

I would say that play allowed us to win the game. He made up for his mistake. Still wouldn't want that ass chewing though.
