  1. - win 70% to 75% of games

    - no scandals, personal or instituional

    - have a good working relationship with the media. you will have a love/hate realtionship

with them, but as nebraskans we are an understanding people and just want info. on the

team. you will probably be paid north of 3 million, deal with it.

    - teach and develop a fundementally system of football that college kids can learn and

put into action on 20 hours a week.

    - recruit the athletes that fit that system and develop depth on the team.

    - promote the nebraska way- mentally tough and physical style of football. everybody

plays hard for 60 minutes, if not they sit.

    - keep and uphold the traditions- academic all-americans, blackshirts to 11, the walkon program, etc.

    - your are a represenative of the university and state, the most recognizable person in the state, you

will be held to a higher standard, again 3 million reasons to deal with it. i have been fortunate

eonugh to live in this great state for almost 50 years, i have no idea what any of the govenors look like.

  2. i would think that as an a.d., any a.d., would want to hire someone that he is comfortable with and has had a previous relationship with.

eichorst has hired al golden at miami and worked with paul chyrst at pitt right now. both have roots in the big 10.

i would think that each of them would be getting a call if it goes that far.

one thing that i have been wondering about is not so much if bo gets fired but i would not be surprised if bo is not

    actively looking for another job.

  3. Same source says that VaTech and NCSU have come to an agreement with the SEC. The politicians and the BoTs have apparently been notified.

Not that surprising since everyone has been thinking this was inevitable for a while. Just interesting since he says it's done already(and by done I mean an agreement has been finalized. just waiting for the word on the exit fee)

has there been any mention about the exit fee as far as when it will be announced?

  4. I really think we get this one. Like our chances big time and watching him on film, I will love the pick up. Hopefully the staff keeps him at tackle because his feet are quick enough to stay with fast pass-rushing DEnds.

i was liking his feet and agility from center

I can see what you are saying, but I feel that our issue isn't going to be at center in the coming years, it will be at OT.

agree....if reeves' injury is behind him that could solve alot of the interior line problems

  6. How about this.

If you offer a kid a scholarship and he comes to college, works his butt off in the class room, keeps his grades up and is working towards his degree but it doesn't work out on the field, the football program can let the kid go from the football team, but he is guaranteed the scholarship to school and the academic help the athletic program offers. And, that scholarship does not count towards the 85 anymore.

Meaning, if it doesn't work out on the field, the kid is still guaranteed his education and the football program is footing the bill. BUT, the football team can move on to someone who is excelling both in the class room AND on the field as far as the team goes.

that is a whole can of worms that would be opened on top of the medical scholarships.

i just feel that if you are going to offer and accept someones commitment to come play and study at your school then there needs to a 4 to 5 year commitment on

    the schools end.

  7. I'm going to look like I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth here.

But, you can't just offer a 4-5 year scholarship without some type of stipulations on keeping it. If I get a scholastic scholarship and once I get to college only keep a 1.8 GPA, I'm not going to have that scholarship very long.

So, just simply saying that a scholarship is 100% guaranteed for 4-5 years isn't really the answer either.

no your right there has to be stipualtions in the grant in aid paperwork. behavorial, classroom progress, etc, but those are already there.

i'm just saying that you recruited the kid and had to have them then through no fault of the kid another player is better than him wants to come

to your school you should not be able to bascially discard the first kid.

  8. wouldn't the pretty simple solution for forced attrition be that when you offer a scholarship to a student/athlete it is for

4 to 5 years, depending on redshirts. that way the coaches are forced to honor their word that they are going to look

after the kids, because that is what they are.

i just get so po'ed when some coach says it is all about the kids and developing young people and then all the stories of

forced attrition, not renewing the scholarships, and the abuse of medical scholarships happen.

the people that i really blame are the university presidents who allow this to happen at their respective schools. they are

ones that could could put a stop to this next week.

  9. ended up getting a beretta .40 and a marlin 30-30.

thanks for the comments and sweet pic of the howitzer.

does anyone of have any experience with panther arms vs. windham weaponery vs. the mini 14 or mini 30.

these may be the next round of purchases.

  10. His semi final game against Tommy Armstrong's alma mater Steele was on Fox sports southwest. A game won by Katy

Folks we have ourselves a straight beast

    44 Carries 232 yards and 3 scores.

not only was adam very impressive his sophmore backup was also impressive. definitely a kid to keep

an eye on in future years.

also i was wondering if that was tommy at the game today. there was someone on the steele sideline

that had a nebraska shirt on.

  11. the blog frank the tank had an interesting post just after we joined the big 10. it was along the lines that if bo pelini thought the

officiating was bad in the big 12 he will commit cold blooded murder in ann arbor.

i am starting to understand this statement more every week.

  12. i heard he gave us a 9 because everyone in America think Nickleback is a bunch of c$%k rock douchebags

Bret Bielema listens to Nickelback along with Urban Meyer.

    Evidently so does Will Muschamp

No, Muschamp clearly listens to Nickleback.

    who is mutchamp :P

How big a boy are ya?

i've never met akita but i'd say he's around 6' 200, just a guess based on his typing skills
