  1. I heard some interesting info tonight about this situation, however I'm not sure how credible the info is as I just was part of a discussion with some buddies and a guy who claims to be a regular at the bar in question knew one of my buddies and ended up getting involved in the conversation.

Apparently according to him the bouncer had a few beers before the incident, which I guess can get the bar in trouble as bar staff aren't supposed to drink while working So the entire case may end up being dropped if the bar puts pressure on the bouncer and his girlfriend, save for the resisting, which by all accounts may be pled down to nothing.

As I said I don't know how credible the source is as I don't know him from Adam but its something I thought I'd mention anyway.

I thought the bouncer/doorman in question was from another bar and thus was a patron of the Alley. I don't think anyone has accused the staff of the Alley of anything.

I accuse the Alley of being a sucky bar.

I like the Alley. It's a bit expensive, but it's right next to a strip club, so that scores it some points.

  2. Time won't make much of a difference. It would take an act of god for Murillo to start over Grixby. It's just not in the cards.

Courtney is that you? shouldnt you be at practice learning to look for the ball or taking some HGH to get taller?

Bah. Do you REALLY think Murillo will start over Grix?

    I mean...really?

Keep in mind that Bowman should be back at some point.

I hope so. And if he is, Jones goes back to the bench while Grix stays out there.

I know what you're all saying...but Coz just will not let a senior with plentiful starting experience sit the bench. I also maintain that, if our safety play is as improved as I think it will be, Grixby will look WORLDS better.

  4. I know it was 2005. Look at how Colorado ended that season. Lost to Iowa State by 14 points, lost to us by 27, and lost to Texas by 67. They also lost their bowl game against Clemson.

Eh. It depends on how you look at the term "Restore the Order." One Big 12 North title, when the North is at maybe its weakest point ever, does not mean (to me) that the order has been restored. Your mileage, however, may vary.

  5. Nebraska, as of right now, isn't underrated as a program. We haven't been that good for a while. Winning the North, while nice, didn't bring us back in the eyes of the nation.

I'd love to see Nebraska restore the order, and think a BCS bowl this year IS a possibility...but as of right now, that poll doesn't shock me at all.

A digression: I HATE those shirts that say: Order Restored. They have the date of the 2005 Colorado game on them. Um...no. That game did not do it.

  6. Not disagreeing with your assessment at all. Technique and fundamentals don't necessarily equate to good players.

If it's Ruud vs. Octavien that we're talking about, though...I have to take Ruud. Potentially, Octavien is a monster. Realistically...all I've seen is a guy who gets hurt easily and ends up out of position a lot. And I don't really like Ruud that much.

And you know that right now I take Swift over the other wideouts. Purify will probably pass him by, though (and that is FINE if he does...I like Purify a lot!). Hopefully the young guys will show out...I want a sick receiving core. Just needs to be proven.

And I really think Shanle is worse than Ricketts. Not saying Ricketts was good, by any stretch...but I felt like our safety play last year just left our corners out to dry.

  7. If, if, if.

I'm not disagreeing with your hypotheticals. I'm just not selling the players that we actually have down the river.

I'm not a Ruud apologist. I think he's decent. He knows the defense. And he hasn't really been hurt a lot. All things I cannot say of Octavien.

Also...Grixby gets crapped on a lot. I don't think it's always his fault. If a safety helped the guy out EVER, things would have been a lot different.

And no, Taylor is not Montana. But I will say BJax is better than Lucky. Without hesitation. Hopefully, Lucky has improved and will prove me wrong. We'll see, of course.

Also...why will we be so much better playing true freshmen?

Regardless....you're one of the "potential" people. I'm a bit more realistic. I like to look at the players we have, versus the players I wish we had (ie: I look at what they've actually done on a football field, versus how "athletic" they are, or whatever).

  8. Hmmm...really. I actually can because he has proven it on the effing field. All these magical receivers that are "going to" be so awesome have yet to prove anything. ALL THE POTENTIAL IN THE WORLD MEANS SQUAT TO ME UNTIL I SEE SOME PRODUCTION. Granted, Purify had that for most of the season. But he STILL DIDNT know all of his routes by the end of the season (and, imho, set the tone of the game against Oklahoma with his fumble).

So, yes, overall...best wideout on the team. And I just said it with the straightest face ever.
