thanks fro......i knew there location what i meant was are these decent seats?....i mean for $140 i hope they aren't terrible.

Those are the 3 closest (excluding the real dives.... like the place called "MOTEL".

lmao I used to live right across the street from that place. :nanalama

  2. If you want a nice hotel, I'd recommend the embassy suites, if you're looking for something more economical, the Howard Johnson. it has a great indoor pool.

Friday and Saturday night any bar between 9th and 20th on O st.

I want to say 36B is in the South Endzone but I could be wrong on that

  3. I like this guy's prediction.............................

    http://www.philsteele.com/Misc%20Pages/2008ncaastanding.html

Also he boasts that he's been more accurate over the past ten years that everybody else. Let's hope he keeps streak going.

    i'd take it

I think everybodys prediction has to suffice you as mizzou is pretty much a unanimous favorite to win the north outside of hardcore kool-aid drinkers :koolaid2:

  4. I don't get how husker fans say there isn't a rivalry there but bash colorado in every way possible. I like boulder it's a nice town and I've met more reasonable normal colorado fans than pot smoking hippie colorado fans.

Not to mention Hawkins is probably one of the ten best coaches outside the SEC. He built BSU overnight and he has completely cleaned up Colorado's program in just three years.

As for the team, I hate Colorado as much as every other husker fan but give credit where credit is due.

  5. I'm reading a lot of smack about the north it seems. I see a lot of "the year NU has depends on the outcome of the VT game" and I just hope WMU is not overlooked. They seem like a pretty solid team and you would think NU would be favored by a little more than 14 points since it's in Lincoln. I don't know maybe i'm just paranoid. What do you think ?

They're starting W. Michigan prep this week. They're not going to overlook the first opponent. I'd be more worried about overlooking SJSU or NMSU

  6. I don't think anyone has any issues for you sticking up for your team. I think you'll find that most people can agree that you guys had a fantastic season last year. The problem is that most of us have a hard time believing that the same thing will happen this season with the schedule you guys have. I know last pre-season you said it would happen and most of us, me included, laughed our arses off at you. I know me personally I rooted for KU to win the North last season because I have a strong dislike for Mizzou, no offense Mizzou fans most of you on here seem fairly decent. I wish KU luck this next season, but my personal opinion is you won't win 11 games again, but I also don't think we'll win 11 games next season either.

Can I buy you a drink? you hit the nail right on the head. :koolaid2:

  7. I have stayed out of it, due to not being around, but I notice one thread you Huskers are stuck on. How good KU was 7 years ago means nohing. Who won in 1977 means nothing. Who has a better program now means a lot. I am not saying your awesome history, and it is awesome, is completely irrelevant, but some of the things you are throwing out are not gonna make much difference in who wins the NEXT 10 games between our teams, which is what we are excited about. I think your great fan support and tradition will be a nice edge and will help you. If you asked me, right now, to say how many Cornhusker games we will win over the next 10, I would say 4 or 5. We have been the better team, on average, in the last 4. We have a coach who has taken us from crap to good (no talk of Dynasty, but we are pretty good). We had a much better team last year, our recruiting has caught up with your, we have some awesome FOOTBALL ONLY facilities and we have some momentum. What you have is known and I respect it a lot, but I think your dominance over the Jayhawks is most likely a thing of the past. I give about 2-1 that the final vestigate falls this autumn. Best of luck to you, I hope things turn in a better direction, but you guys need to look at how other programs were built. Old Howie Schnellenberger (sp?) made Miami in a power in the early 80s out of Nothing. FLorida State was no good until Bowden. Florida had not even won the SEC until 1991, much less a national title. I am NOT saying we are destined to be one of these, which are in recruit central, but they show how who was winning in the 70's and 60's does not mean who is going to be good later.

We may come up and quickly wane, but we have a good coach and have invested a lot while things have gone better. Our teams won week after week after hearing how we were a fluke and how each week we would be exposed. I not going to rehash my arguments, too many of you have heard them, but who won in 1985 has NO effect on who is gonna win this fall. The players have gotten past that with the last 4 games (we almost win at your house while winning big in ours). So good luck, we know you are gonna come to play, but so will we. Count on that.

I hate to point it out, but until Devaney, you guys were not realy that great either, not in a sustained way. You could win some conference titles, but You all had a 62.7% win percentage in the 74 years before Devaney, and while that is good, great came after 1961. You guys built up a great thing and it will probably carry you through BC and hopefully a while longer until it is back producing 9+ win seasons like the days in old.

This was in NO WAY supposed to be a Jayhawk bashing thread. It was just supposed to be a season prediction. Good Post. :cheers

  8. SJS is set at 11:30 on the schedule. NMSU should be more fun to watch. Chase Holbrook should put up big numbers

Uh oh. If you're going to tell me NMSU and Holbrook could try to sneak one past us like Ball State did then I want no part of that!

NO... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. NEVER. He's just the poor man's graham harrell. Big passing numbers don't mean victory.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have not lost much on the field this summer.

It appears, however, the Angels will lose out on signing their fifth-round pick from June's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, Calvary Baptist Academy outfielder Khiry Cooper.

Cooper, a University of Nebraska football signee, said he is almost certain not to sign before tonight's midnight Eastern deadline. Teams who do not sign draft selections who are not college seniors receive compensation in next year's draft.

Instead, Cooper will focus on playing football and baseball for the Cornhuskers.

"The whole process was difficult," Cooper said. "It's been my dream to play pro baseball. The opportunity came and it shocked me. I was committed to Nebraska and I didn't know what to do."

Cooper took six hours of summer classes at Nebraska and realized Lincoln was where he needed to be for at least the next three years.

"Throughout the whole process I prayed about it a lot," Cooper said. "I think God wanted me to be here. He didn't want me to chase after money. You can get money anywhere. I'm not saying it wasn't a good sum of money. I felt my place would be here and I'd have a better opportunity after three years — with my degree and playing football and baseball."

Cooper was a two-time All-City and All-State baseball selection for the Cavaliers, patrolling center field for the two-time state champions.

He joins a growing list of risky early Angels' picks who did not sign with the club.

In 2004, Los Angeles drafted Patrick White of Mobile, Ala., in the fourth round. Today, White, a quarterback, is a Heisman Trophy contender at West Virginia. Last year, the Angels drafted Connecticut prep right-hander Matt Harvey in the third round. Harvey turned down the Angels' offer and signed with the University of North Carolina.

Cooper, like White, had a football scholarship in hand when the Angels drafted him. Unlike White, Cooper also plans to play baseball in college.

"I talked to a lot of people," Cooper said. "I talked to (Nebraska assistant baseball) coach (Eric) Newman and my mom talked to (head) coach (Mike) Anderson. They gave me good advice. They never pressured me. They were always like, 'We want the best for you.' They were there for me. That's one of the things that got me to stay here."

  10. I have a good friend that went to Penn State, I would love to play a one and one with them...let them come to Nebraska, kick their butts, then play the next year there, and buy out their stadium like we did at Notre Dame. That would give me a thrill like no other!!

We didn't buy out their stadium in '02. remember Larry Johnsons coming out party?

  11. How early do you show up at Memorial Stadium on average to the games? I would say for me its anywhere for 3-6 hours (Depends if its a morning or night game) earlier than the game starting that I'm outside... and I usually head in the stadium about 30-45 minutes before kickoff.

My longest gameday was easily USC last year when I got there at 8 am and the game started at 7 pm. I think I left the stadium at about 12 that night.

When I lived in Lincoln, I would go about a half hour before the game, however during the USC game last year I went down to the stadium at 1 am to be first in line for gameday. Took a power nap at the HuskerBoard tailgate and was good for gametime.

  12. Everybody is so far on either side of the fence on this issue and it's a tug of war that never ends.

The traditionalists are always going to outnumber those who don't oppose a b******* because a good majority of Nebraksns fear change.

There will never be a solid b******* even if devaney himself rose from the grave and asked husker fans for a b*******.

  13. "I guess in Husker land a temporary absence from the top 25 means a decade"- Mark May (August 7, 2008)

You're supporting your view with a quote from Mark May? WOW!!! You just officially lost this argument.

P.S. Mark probably doesn't know we were in the top 25 last year before USC and in the top 10 5 years ago.

LOL. Why does Mark May hate Nebraska so much? I'm being serious here. I've never heard him say a nice thing about the huskers.

finished ranked in the top 25 7 of the last 10 years, 2002, 2004 and 2007. He's so F&$%ing ignorant.
