  1. It seems like we are on a roller-coaster when it comes to recruiting this

year! Some decommits I can understand with the coaching change, some were probably

persuaded by other decommits that went another direction, and there are probably a number

of other reasons for them changing their minds. The bottom line is that they found reason(s)

for backing out of their commitment and felt that NU was not of their choice. We don't need

any commits that are not totally sold on being a part of the NU program. We don't want those

that cannot make up their own minds and let other athletes talk them into following them to

another program. The new coaching staff appears to have a handle on what they are looking for as far as the athletes they want at NU. There is still a lot of quality players out there that they are after and they still have time to sell NU. I think after the recruitning season is over, we'll have put together a respectable list of recruits.

  2. I thought it was just me that didn't enjoy Mushburger and of course the favorite

Mike May! Geez, am I relieved that someone else doesn't care for the way these

two announce anything dealing with NU football. They even make Lou Holtz look

    good on a bad day!

  3. Under no circumstances do we think about losing! I would rather think that a lot of discussion

and thought have already gone into the decision that TO will be making concerning this coaching

staff and their future at NU. The Huskers need to win this game and end this season on a positive

note. A win would only lead to several positive outcomes for the NU football program. I would

never wish a loss on the Huskers--no matter what!! Beat CU.....

  4. Iowa State beat the Buffies today 31-28!!!! They were down 21-0 at halftime and came

back and beat them. It won't be an easy game on Colorado's home field, but this shows

that they are beatable if ISU can beat them!!

  5. I remember when they took such pride in the number of pancake blocks they

had each game. You never hear about pancake blocks anymore. Do we keep

track of the number of individual pancake blocks anymore or is it something

that has lost importance? How is the blocking used in the WCO offense different

from the blocking used at NU when we use to run the ball more.? It seems like

we have a lot of difficulty with any type of running game, is this because of the

type of blocking we are using? Or is it the type of offense?

  6. I think TO will take a look at what's out there for coaches and consider who is the best fit will be for

the NU job. I think a lot of consideration has to be put into this decision so we get the coach that

can bring what is needed to bring life back to the program. TO will be looking for someone that

possesses certain key strengths he considers necessary to be head coach at NU! Many of the

coaches that have been mentioned are no doubt good candidates, but I think TO isn't going to

be hasty in making such a crucial decision, he'll want to shop around and see who is available!

Rather than rank potential candidates, I'm just going to sit back and let TO do his job.

  7. Taking into consideration that the game is at Lincoln and our offense did score 39 points in the

last game, and the fact that ISU did beat them last week, it does give one a little more hope

that we might be able to win one. Even though KSU lost, they are going to come into Lincoln

knowing that the Huskers are having difficulties and seeing what KU did to the huskers, they'll be more than ready!! It all depends on what the defense bings to the game--it could be a

    close game!!!

  8. I know if I was a KU fan, I would take a lot of pleasure in watching my team crush

NU. After all, they've have been rather pathetic over the last 30 or 40 years. We

now know how it feels like to get our butts kicked. But at least it has been very

seldom! After all, how many losing seasons have we seen in the last 40 years

being NU fans? Ask KU fans how many losing seasons they have seen. Changes

will improve things and the Huskers will be back!

  9. I think BC has done some good things for the Husker program, but hopefully he does the best

thing yet for the program--just finish the season and leave. I still hope that the Huskers can

salvage something from this season! I guess as a true fan I don't want to think about losing,

rather I hope thinks will work out for the best of the program. I'm sure TO will make the

    best decisions for everything involved.

  10. I think we are looking at a very long year unless something is figured out in a hurry! We are going to

be looking at a lot of "classless teams" down the road that are ready to put it to us without any regard

to whether or not it is "classy" or sportsmanlike. It is a big confidence booster for their team to lay it to the

Huskers and they're going to do it whenever they can. You could also see during the game that our

performances on both offense and defense could have resulted in the game being even more lopsided

and Missouri being more "classless." It not the other team's job to be nice to us---it's our job to defend

    what they bring at us!

  11. Man, it is hard to believe all the negative garbage that is being spread about our Husker football

team. It's bad enough to concentrate on the task at hand and prepare for the next game let alone

dealing with all this crap thrown at the coaches and team. Hopefully, they put the last two games

behind them and concentrate on dealing with correcting weaknesses so as to improve. Talking

with some ISU Clone fans, they feel that they can be in this game and possibly win it. The

negative feedback from some NU fans is kindling their fire and giving them reason to think this

way. If we want the team to believe in themselves, then we had better show that we believe

    in them first!

  12. To receive praise you've got to give the fans something to praise! Hopefully, our defensive team puts

their last two efforts behind them and come to play against the clonies. It seems like their is a lot of

"individual thinking" rather than thinking about a "team effort!" They need to pull together and play

    as a unit.

  13. I am only hoping for "some" improvement in the Iowa State game preferably on the defensive side

of the ball. Visiting with Clony fans, they really feel that their team has a chance in this game and

I'm sure they'll bring more confidence with them into this game.
