I'd take the dominant offensive line over "big-play" wide receivers any day. Because then, at the very least, you can rely on them to give your quarterback time to find receivers and it allows for the run game to be consistent.

And don't underestimate Nobler either. He may have been a late add with no other offers, but one of this staff's strength's is finding the hidden talent.

Late add I guess. recently submitted his LOI. No stars, but looks solid, lots of heart. Here is his video profile:

  3. I was wondering if there was any plans to update the board skins/fonts or what not. It looks as if were using the most Lo-Fi option as our only one. I know Slacker had mentioned that things will take time, but does anyone know if this is still in the works?

Somewhere Landlord showed some skins he had made for another website, and they were killer. I realize he's busy but I would love to see him put a little dazzle into the board's appearance.

And on the appearance, are we using the right Red? It almost looks orange. I could also do without the reply quote boxes that show up in purple/yellow/green. Compare it to the color used in the starting lineup AV's.

Anyway, I'm very gracious for the upgrade... :nanalama

  4. Back in 2006 I first discovered message boards on the internet (porn would shortly follow). At the time I was a religiously die-hard fan of the TV show The Office. I still enjoy the show, but the freshness that existed in the first 2 and a half seasons has worn off. Anyway, in one of the early second-season episodes, the Michael Scott character refers to the employees of Dunder-Mifflin paper company as "Dundermifflinites."

  5. Apparently NU offered Fajardo, but we were too late. Fajardo sticks with Nevada, turns down Nebraska.

Bravo to the kid. We shunned him, then came crawling back, but he tells us to buzz off. Cannot blame him in the least.

Going to play under a great offensive coach there, if he stays during Fajardo's time there. Klenakis is probably one of the best and most underrated offensive coaches in the country.

IMO it could have been his integrity in the matter that helps land us Carnes. Weird how things work on LOI signing day.

  6. Maybe Tommie talked some since into him. Maybe us going back and offering Fajardo convinced him that we were still taking a QB, regardless of what Turner did (love the guy as a player, hated the timing). Either way if Carnes wants back in, I'm willing to give him another shot.

  7. Being from Seward (about 10 miles from Utica) I've seen him at a lot of track meets and such. FWIW, I also played basketball against him in 8th grade while he was in 7th. He was damn good then too. Heck of an athlete...very similar to Tyler Evans in my opinion. I'm glad to see he's walking on.

very legitimate speed from what I've heard. Excellent walk on pickup.

  8. I love the Olympics and will probably watch everything but the male figure skating. Thanks for the party invite though Drowning, I'm sure the lil' smokies will be a hit.

I don't, however, get why Michael Phelps is swimming to the Olympics. The winter Olympics.

  9. There have been some very reputable people around claiming he is a "lock." Crabtree has wavered all day about his pick. He finally said this afternoon that he "doesnt know." Which is right because he gets paid to access talent and he really doesnt talk to the kids or coaches as much as Jon Talman or Sean Callahan does. That is why I remain confident that he is "N."

The optimistic side of me says that Crabtree has managed to sell a few subscriptions today.
