Look, my comment was not meant to bash LBGT efforts for acceptance. It's just some of the names of these groups and councils and the fact that they're treated as being so important. It's probably just me being a dick but don't people have better things to do? I guess I come off a little callous because I already accept these people and I just feel many of these things hold back their cause and treat them as being unequal. If everyone would ignore the differences, there wouldn't be the need to recognize differences....I guess that's where I'm at with it.

And you can spare me the lecture about how they are still discriminated against. I realize there are still people that just don't get it. I just happen to be for ignoring them rather than empowering their narrow mindedness by having to address it. Surely aren't those people in the minority today?

I agree with all of the above. If sexual preference shouldn't matter, then we shouldn't make such a big deal out of it.

The only problem is, we're not there yet.

    Close. But not yet.

as long as we keep bringing it up, it will be a big deal, and people don't understand that.

What the hell does QIA stand for?

    Queer, Intersex, Asexual.

    ¯\(°_o)/¯[/size]
Ok, I have to ask, at the risk of opening myself up for more deserved abuse.

1- Is that really what QIA stands for?

2- if it is, how does "queer" differ from the other 6 letters represented?

    3- WTF does intersex mean?

4- Do we really have people who identify with being asexual? I thought that was some kind of organism that multiplied without having sex. Are there people who can do that?

    Nvm, I looked it up.

    Q is for questioning

    I is intersexed (aka hermaphrodite)

    A is ally

    Thanks for the misinformation LoMS.

Traditionally, the QIA stand for what I said, but there is no 'official' definition.

    L - lesbian - female sexually/romantically attracted to females

    G - gay - male sexually/romantically attracted to males

    B - bisexual - sexually/romantically attracted to both sexes

T - transgender - member of a gender other than what is expected of their anatomical sex

Q - queer - umbrella term for anything that doesn't adhere to heterosexual/cisgender norms

I - intersex - physical/anatomical sex does not categorize as exclusively male or female

A - asexual - someone not attracted to anyone

A - ally - heterosexual/cisgender person that is a friend of the cause

There are plenty of people who identify as asexual. I am friends with a number of asexual people. Whether you think Q stands for queer or for questioning, they essentially mean the same thing, which is someone who doesn't fit into sexual/gender categories that our society considers default and normal.

holy **** i never thought i'd see cis or cis gendered on a ****ing football forum. seriously, the tumblr language needs to go back to tumblr with all the other special little snowflakes.

next are your going to tell us about the importance of xir, xirs, xirself? or hey if we are including that, can we include demi sexual deamon dragonkin? and all that other otherkin bs? because if so, i hope to god a asteroid hits this planet for we no longer deserve it.

I like to imagine him playing Magic the gathering with a couple dudes in a studio apartment somewhere, sipping a couple Bartles and James Fuzzy Navels, sharing stories from times past. Ah yeah, the good life.

magic the gathering has sucked since the miradin block back in early 2004. why no mana burn wizards?

  5. Not sure how many people actually follow esports, but i figured we could at least try to have one thread that encompassed all of them.

the dota 2 asia championship just started it's qualifiers for NA, it looks like the team i follow(fire, formally sneaky nys assassins(sna)) will not make it out because they refuse to make an upgrade with one of their players. for those who don't know this tournament has a 1.6 million dollar prize pool and the finals will be held in Shanghai

At his intro presser he got side tracked telling stories about walk-ons at OSU. He said he thinks that it is a critical part of a program. So we should have no worries there. Hell, if he's friendlier with the Nebraska high school coaches than Pelini was, things could get better actually.

it sounds like he is, oregon highschool coaches loved him for how he dealt with them.
  7.

I know this was a highly successful program that, correct me if I'm wrong, Clownahan basically did away with. What about Riley, anybody know if he had walk ons in Oregon? Walk ons can be pretty good football players, Schlesinger wasn't bad, Clay Mathews walked on at USC and aint bad either...

i'll say he did, hell brandon cooks one of the better new wr's in the nfl was a walk on at osu, he had a ray guy winner as a walk on as well.

I feel a bit like an old-timer, but watching Georgia Tech run the tiple option and score big points is a lot of fun. Obviously, nebraska is not going in that direction...but watching this offense run well is good for the soul. It reminds me of a lot of good Saturdays in Lincoln. And get off my lawn.

i wanted PJ in 07 not the idiot in ohio. PJ has won everywhere he's been

  9. I was impressed that even people with court side seats didnt sit.. people truthfully understood what this moment meant...

Everyone i have heard who was at the game said it was one of the best games environment wise they have ever been to.

It was so loud that it was actually causing my ears pain. Someone tweeted they hadn't seen a Nebraska fanbase like that since 2001 Oklahoma. And well freaking done by our fanbase tonight. EVERYONE stood up the entire game.

Here's a pano I took beforehand. It's about 10mb so it might not load very quickly.

There's never been a crowd like that for a football game. EVER. It was beyond ridiculous. You said you were having pain. I texted EZ in the 2nd half. Said the crowd noise was wearin on my and I was part of it. LOL. That I must be spendin too much time accross the way on blue hair blvd. LOL.

I'm not sure you can compare a basketball crowd like that to a football crowd. I have been to some games at Memorial where the football crowd was rocking and LOUD. But, in basketball, when you have that many people in an indoor arena, there is no comparison in football.

wisky's radio crew called it the loudest environment they've ever played in(football or basketball same 2 guys for both sports). hell listening to their call of the game they mentioned how they had no clue what was going on directly to the right of them in the corner, they couldn't see at all due to people standing.

  10. Taylor-Lewan.gif

These are clips from the UM-MSU game with OT Taylor Lewan getting away with a bunch of face masks. Refs seem to never call a holding call in favor of Nebraska defense. With this guy on the other side in Ann Arbor, things could get nasty.

so take him at the knees until he cry's like the female dog he is. might help him stop being a complete and utter piece of skunkbear crap.

  11. For the past three seasons, a Michigan player has switched his jersey number for the season to wear Howard’s No. 21 as part of the Michigan legacy jersey program. Senior wide receiver Jeremy Gallon wears No. 21 this season, and is the third wide receiver to represent the Heisman Trophy winner.

“I think it’s a fantastic honor. I was humbled by it when the athletic director Dave Brandon came up with the concept.”

I'll have to check back later, Sky Sports is televising the USA vs Cook Islands rugby league game. Probably won't take too long before I lose interest in that one ;)

i thought the usa only played union rules?

  13. The WWE video editing staff could make Funaki vs Scotty 2 Hotty look like Macho Man vs Steamboat.
