  1. Yeah, they'll really want to come to an environment where fans are so spiteful they record conversations, hang onto them for two years, then drop them anonymously when it would hurt the program most. Welcome to having the worst scrub of a coach anyone could possibly imagine if he really does get fired.

wasn't a fan that recorded ebyl.

  2. Even if this is true now, or at the end of the season, it really, really sucks if you are a true Husker fan (and not sending audio to Deadspin)

Players will transfer. You know...players that Husker fans have been excited about? Gone.

Who will coach? Your grandmother's bridge partner? Frank + this = no sane good coach will *ever* come here.

Be careful what you wish for. Pelini's rant was bad, no doubt. But look at the options. Nebraska may soon envy Penn State.

pretty sure having a coach get called out for having a tape shown where he called the fans ****ing fairweather ****s won't scare other coaches off.

  3. Bell doesn't seem like the type to run with something unless he thinks it's legit.

If(IF!) this is true was this something the powers that be just found too unseamly to get around? Was it just the last straw for a guy they considered borderline anyway? Were they going back and forth on what to do and after making some calls liked their options?

It's a Facebook page called "Kenny Bell's Hit" created in honor of Kenny Bell's hit in the CCG last year. It's not Kenny Bell.

So this wasn't Bell's actual page or a posting by him, just some rumor a random dude posted? Wow.

the charlie comment was a joke, the posting about bo supposedly being gone i assume he took from RSS.

  4. 3.1 million views on YouTube now.....EPIC

If that keeps up it'll probably get mentioned on Tosh.0 which may or may not be a good thing.

considering how that mouthing breathing idiot tosh gets his jokes, not likely. Tosh and his writers do nothing but browse /b/ on 4chan and reddit all day to find old jokes that have long since gone stale. much like how jack has cancer, tosh is the cancer of the internet.

  5. Rumbles on the Rivals board that Ameer got hurt. I hope that's either bunk, or nothing season-threatening.

Sounds like he got an ankle rolled on. Most likely will sit out the rest of spring ball. I"m sure an official word will come out at the next practice. Good time to get the other running backs some reps, especially Cross with the firs string. Good time to get the timing down.

Cool, thanks for the update. Sounds like it's nothing to worry about.

i'm still curious as to the other injury that some people speak about.

  6. All live for TV shows are pretty good. Been to several RAW shows, but have never seen a live PPV.

saw one of the in your house shows back in the 90's at the civic, main event was Mankind/taker it was good. I haven't been impressed with the WWE in several years though, they've miss handled so much talent and kept people way past the time they should have hung up the boots(i'm looking at you HBK, HHH, Taker, Flair). They have almost hit Russo levels of booking which is just depressing.

  7. If every Christian religion approached it like this, there wouldn't be any problems.

Well, except where you view one man living a wonderful, godly life in wedlock with a woman and another man marrying another man as sinning in every loving moment they share.

You don't have to accept it, of course, just pointing out a problem with your portrayal of that approach as an end-all, be-all approach for Christians.

I suppose what I am saying is a Christian religion that teaches the act of homosexuality is not a sin and not to be viewed in the same light as adultery or drunkenness, then there wouldn't be a problem here.

A Christian religion that teaches the act of homosexuality is not a sin is a compromise and conformity to a world-view not found in scripture - it might seem nice but it would be a heretical teaching. At any rate, he is right, there wouldn't be any problems. Reason being, the Christians would still have the same beliefs about homosexuality, but based on scriptural precedent would not impose laws or restrictions to try and prevent sin but would leave people to be self-controlled and would only self-regulate within the church. The homosexuals can go on living their lives as they see fit, as can the Christians.

I personally DON'T believe there is a difference between any two different sins - homosexuality included.

So are you saying that committing homicide and working on the Sabbath are equally immoral?

Working on the Sabbath is not a sin - otherwise Jesus would be sinful. The sin lies in being too busy to allot time for rest and focus on your relationship with Jesus.

Anyways, as far as your question, there are two answers. Both are acts of disobedience towards God, considered sin and equally as damning - the penalty for sin is death, not just a measure of death depending on how bad it is. However, scripture consistently paints a picture that some sins, particularly those committed against other people, are to be dealt with more severely and taken more seriously than others.

4th commandment Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
  8. How hard would it have been for Coach Brown to say my following statement doesn't reflect the University of Nebraska and only a personal belief before he started? then he would have avoided all this mess.

Exactly. He stepped in it when he attempted to posture himself as representing the University. He's going to take flak for this, and he deserves it.

He does it a lot though. I honestly think he isn't worth it. He may be a great coach and all but there are lawsuits waiting to happen with his much of a pusher he is with his religion.

  9. I actually ran into a Texas fan who asked me how was i liking the new conference full of perverts (the wisconsin and penn st. thing)

I'm sorry guys, i couldn't fire back after that shot.

ask him how he feels about the perverts in his own school. ask why some of his coaches left(you know un wanted sexual advances) ask him how the book em horns are doing.

  10. Here in the land of rugby and cricket, I was surprised to see that American Football here in Auckland is getting a pretty strong foot hold. I saw a clip of a game on the news the other night...man...some of the Maori and Islanders are not only big...but can really fly. Might have to go watch a game live.

you want to see what would have been a scary running back or fullback? look up jonah lomu, he was a maori rugger in the 90's he was like 260 ran the 100m in 10.8 seconds, just over 4.3 in a 40 metre, i'll post some of his highlights dude was just sick. Oh by the way, while on dialysis he still played rugby against doctor wishes. He's the type of player that the old husker players would have loved.

and as a bok fan i hate him, the all blacks and the wallabies.

  11. I have an official transcript of a conversation taken between Obama and Zac Lee:

BO: So Zac, what have you done?

Zac: Well Mr. President, I played quarterback for the University of Nebraska and now I am with the---

BO: Sorry to interrupt, but what's a Nebraska?

I guess BO was okay with having a Fox New anchor there as long as it was Jenna Lee.

is it really any surprise when the fox anchor's are such gigantic tits? Megan Kelly or what you is an unprofessional, Bill "the tide goes in tide goes out, you can't explain that" O'reilly can give up but not take it.

  12. I know this has been talked about to death and then some, but if the SEC expands with A&M + one or more others, does it cause the other conferences to follow suit. If the Big Ten expands and adds more teams, is there really a point to referring to "TEN" any longer?

Now, here's a loaded question... for the sake of argument, let's just say UT wanted into the B1G. Would you be in favor of it, provided they signed in blood that they would abide by the same rules as everyone else and face penalties for coloring outside the lines?

Personally, if there were assurances of the above, I'd love to see them in the conference. That's just me, though, even though I don't see how they'd ever agree to be an equal member of a conference.

we already have osu, we don't need another dirty program.

  13. The OWH is in their fourth day of an eleven day series on UNO sports and the transition to Division I. Monday was men's soccer, Tuesday was women's soccer, Wednesday was women's volleyball, and today was women's cross country/track & field. Tomorrow is men and women's golf, Saturday is men's and women's tennis, Sunday is men's basketball, Aug. 15 is women's basketball, Aug. 16 is women's swimming, Aug. 17 is baseball, and Aug. 18 is softball. They've done some pretty good pieces so far, trying to capture the goods and bads of moving up.

    Here's the articles so far:

    Men's soccer

    Women's soccer

    Women's volleyball

Women's cross country and track & field

Here's the OWH Mavs page: World Herald Mav site Some good accompanying articles, especially a few regarding the soccer team.

Keep an eye there for the remainder of the series.

i'm absolutely peeved about this. i want trev fired for this. he screwed over several programs just to keep tom happy.
