  1. The Option will always work. People who say it is dead in this modern day of football are ridiculous. The Option puts sooo much pressure on the opposing defense its not even funny. They may stop the standard Triple option twice to the outside, Then the third we hand it to the fullback and he runs right up the middle for 20 yards. Its complex in how the defense has to adjust to it, But it is relatively easy to run. You can seal off the QB and the Fullback, but then the halfback will be open. You can seal all 3 off, then the play Action pass starts to work. The Spread uses this same basic principle, Have more choices then the defense can defend. Spread can be run from shotgun or standard formation, And can utilize anything from tight end posts to 4 receiver draws up the middle. Its just teaching all the plays and different formations of the spread that proves difficult in College. Some coaches can teach it in various ways and it sticks, some can't. There is only 4 years to grasp it, and its tough. You need to have players develop in the system in the same way the West Coast players have to, Just not as complex. The West Coast is the step up from the spread, and its just too complicated. When you have a QB that knows all the plays extremely well, IE Zac Taylor, It opens up everything entirely. But in the time it takes to learn the entire play book, the team will be one dimensional based on the QB's knowledge. The Option isn't like either of these. Its relatively easy to learn, There aren't a massive amount of complex plays to memorize, So players can usually step right in and play. Thats why it is so popular in High School football. It still has the ability to work at the College Level, the spread just seemed to work so well everyone else adopted it.

    Well said :clap

  2. I will post but if I get any doubters or flamers then I post no more news. We should just speculate more...but I will piss on the flamers or doubters.

I have a question.....If you have such an in in thei athletic department, and such a storied collegiate career, then why are you seeking validation and cautioning those on internet message boards?

I agree, are you the president of huskerboard? And to the rest of you suck ups, the info will come out in time or some other chat room. This guy is a egotistical freak that grows off of you other dolts. IBR stand down and get in check with yourself.

I have a question... What does it matter to you? I say let the man tell all of us not in the know whats up! If it wasn't fpr him we wouldn't have anything worthwhile to read oh mista moral authority...

  4. While driving home from class today heard Sipple being interviewed on ESPN 1460 radio here in Kearney. He said that he had very reliable sources that something will go down either this afternoon or tomorrow. He sounded VERY confident that we're (thankfully) in the last 24-36 hours of Pud's reign as AD. WOO HOO!!11!!111!!!

  5. Yeah, I left early (5:00 left in the 4th, so not too early). Mostly because I'd rather watch football and not grown men play pattycake. And mainly because there was another Big XII North team playing that I'm more of a fan. Thank God for a storm delay in Lawrence or else I wouldn't of gotten to watch a team beat up on a south team like they should. Yesterday's loss to Oklahoma State was pretty much the end of the season. The dagger was in, and Okie St. came in and twisted it, finishing the Huskers off for good. I'd try to sell my remaining tickets for the games, but word on the street is you can't even give them away anymore.

At least there is still tailgating before the games.

do not EVER post here agian!! or ill beat your ass into the ground!! :box

Hey tuff guy, try posting something constructive instead of childish threats and insults...

  6. Why? they SUCK.

Because that's the kind of crap we always criticize sCUm fans about.

Sorry buddy, I'm just sick and tired of being pissed off about what have could have been!!! Take a look in the mirror and drop another sugar cube in the Kool-Aid before you call names...

  7. To say that folks leaving when we're in the process of the worst home loss in the modern era makes them fair weather fans makes me want to hug you until you sleep... This coaching staff has turned our program into a national laughing stock and if fans leaving make boosters contribute to the pay out I AM ALL FOR IT!!!

  8. Yes, it would appear that the defense is so bad that something as archaic and easily defended as the option looks good. I am actually a fan of the option, I'm just curious if the fellas on this board who hate on the option will admit it can still work or admit this is perhaps the worst D the Huskers have ever fielded..
