  1. Is anybody surprised?

AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas regents are backing the creation of a so-called Longhorn network of cable sports programming.

The regents met behind closed doors Wednesday with school President William Powers Jr. to discuss the plan. The regents' academic affairs committee then publicly voted to allow Powers to sign a deal.

ESPN has confirmed it is in talks with Texas to distribute the proposed network. ESPN and school officials have declined to discuss how much it would be worth or other details.

Fox Sports, believed to be interested in the network, declined comment Wednesday.

  2. Along the lines of what Husker Runner said...

VERY disappointed that the sub-forums are gone in the other husker sports. Basketball, Baseball, and Volleyball all deserve their own subforum there. There are PLENTY of discussions that go on in those during their respective seasons. Honestly, the baseball sub-forum was the reason I came here during the spring/summer. Those should come back, and I will be extremely disappointed if those all stay thrown into the jumbled mess that is now other husker sports. I must of missed the part of this being solely a husker football board n not a Husker Board....

Really? I wouldn't say that two or three "active" threads a day would count as "PLENTY" of discussions to warrant sub-forums for them all. Your baseball threads will still exist, and chances are tremendously good that they won't ever leave the first page of topics until they've run their course.

"Outdoors World" has its own subforum and there are one or two threads per month in there, not nearly as many threads per year as volleyball, baseball or basketball, and certainly less Husker-related.

The Aggies started Big 12 play on a high note, with a 3-0 victory over Texas, but it hasn't been quite as smooth sailing since then. They are led by junior outside hitter Kelsey Black, who is ranked second in the conference in kills per set. Associate head coach John Corbelli was an assistant coach at Nebraska under Terry Pettit in 1981, and is married to head coach Laurie Corbelli.

The Tigers are led on offense by senior Paola Ampudia, who ranks third in the Big 12 for kills per set and had 20 kills in three sets in a sweep of Colorado last Saturday.

  5. Nebraska wins S4 25-20 to win the match 3-1. Some communication issues at times and the first set especially would have been a lot closer if Texas hadn't killed themselves with service errors, but a pretty good match all around for Nebraska. Killer match for Delano. Also some nice play from Broekhuis. We'll need her to be clicking by tournament time so it's good to see her stepping up today.
