How old is your dad? 12?

Our football team could take some lessons from the volleyball team about how to play with intensity.
-
Because our offensive line can pass protect a lot better than they can run block.

It's not much different than a college baseball coach overusing his star pitcher to the point where it becomes detrimental to the kid's long term career. Sure, the pitcher doesn't want to be taken out of the game, but if he burns out his arm that is a huge disservice to the kid. (All IMHO, of course.)
A college coach should be concerned about the players' best interests, as well as his own. Burning a redshirt for a few plays early in the season, especially in blowout games, is not typically in a kid's best interest. If Niles Paul is relegated to a few special teams plays the rest of the year, then his redshirt was wasted.
-
Sure they want to play. But if they give up a season for a few inconsequential plays, they often come to regret that decision later.
-
Yeah, we should have beaten Ball State badly, too.
No sure thing with this defense.
-
It's not fair to the kids to give up a season of eligibility for a few plays, IMHO.
-
I have no problem with burning redshirts...but play the kids if you're going to. See Niles Paul.

Can Coz. He is in above his head at this level.

John Blake filled the cupboard with talent as head coach at OU, but the results did not show up on the field. Stoops stepped in and took Blake's players to a National Championship.
Ditto with Ron Zook and Urban Meyer.
Callahan has shown he is a great recruiter, but the results are not showing on the field. (Yes, the offense played well today, AGAINST BALL STATE.) The defense is severely under-performing, and that is putting it mildly.
Will Callahan be our John Blake and Ron Zook?

Bowl game? They'd get an at-large invitation to a BCS game.

I am in Texas, but if someone in Lincoln will help organize a booth outside the stadium, I will donate the first hundred cans of food. And maybe come up later in the season to help.
-
Yeah, so we could win an overtime thriller against Eastern Michigan.
-
There is no place like Nebraska...to make your team look like an offensive juggernaut.
-
The defense seems to get worse every game. By the time we get to Austin, we'll give up 1000 yards and 80 points to the Longhorns.
-
Out. Also receiving votes.

That was an humiliating performance. Cosgrove has to go. A bad defense will get this team nowhere. I've had enough of this.
-
I just got hit in the head with a big chunk of sky.
-
Ball State came to play. Tough loss for them. I wish them the best the rest of the season.
-
I've had it with this defense. It is time for a change.
-
It is obvious that Cosgrove can not get the job done.
I propose that we start a CAN COZ food drive so the fans can voice their displeasure with Cosgrove and help a charity at the same time.
Canned items can be collected at home games for the rest of the season. A campaign like this would get publicity and maybe force a change where one is obviously needed.

FYI...have confirmed that Cool River is indeed the watch party site.
-
They are showing the game on ABC in our area. I checked on my channel guide.
So I need to know where other Huskers fans are gonna watch the game. I would think Cool River because I've been there before. Let me tell ya, it feels good to see all those fans in RED!!

Cool River is the place.
