  1. The mindset used to be "How bad will we beat Ok, Kansas, ISU Ect......" Yeah this is Bo's 1st year as a head coach, Callahan screwed things up bad(granted he could recruit). Scholich still had that attitude that was started by Devaney, and perfected by Osborne. Now we have a hybrid of Daveny and Osborne as far as attitude goes. The head coaching we will have to see. I think it will be really good.

So to all the "maybe we will go 6-7, 8-5, even the 10-3 common this is Husker Football. Never say Quit. Take each game as it comes.

Before all the "this guys on cloud 9" bs comes let me ask you this...

How can you expect the players to take this attitude if you the fan do not??? :bonez:bonez:bonez

  2. This is Husker football people!!!!!!!!

All the games are important... Did Callahan make us soft from the dog eat dog world of Devaney, Osborne, and the scary D of McBride?

  3. All this pleading by the Colorado media reminds me of the creepy girl in highschool who keeps stalking you and giving you stuffed animals and cards.

You feel you should be nice to her, but you don't want to lead her on..She might go all "Fatal Attraction" on you.

    :yeah

Maybe over time if kansas, mizzou, can hold there own for more than a season or two. otherwise I'll keep the ou nu every couple years!

  4. Would we be considered 2008's Cinderella team, or a program that has returned to domanance.

Will the Huskers win it all this year? Probally not, if they did I'd have to say it was a return to domance. Yet after the last 4 years I wonder how many people would call it luck. :restore

  5. I hope Im still a real Nebraska fan after this post. If Norm was considering NU you go get him, I'm sure it didn't even cross his mind though. He is one of the best with out question. Watson is a good guy but is unproven on his own. I think people forget that Cally brought the play book and called the plays.

With that said I hope Watson turns into the next star, that every team wants but can't have.

Watson was known for the power or power play at CU. They would double down the DE, KO the EMOL with the FB and lead through with BSG. They put a clinic on in 2001 Big 12 game vs UT, with Chris Brown.

waston will work out just fine. give the guy a chance. who did much of anything undery cally. NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :steam

  6. I really liked how he said he would consult T.O. I also really liked his talk about unity and family those are very good traits for any leader no matter who or what he leads I also liked when asked about what offense he would run he said that he would not make any wholesale changes that was refreshing not that I liked the WCO but that is what was recruited for ,for the last 4 years ,making the system fit the players is a lot easier than doing what the last as$hole tried to do !!!!! :)

Gradually change the offense instead of overnight. What a concecpt!!!!!!!! People do learn from history

  7. why the heck would a guy that just got hired as a head coach put his new team on hold to go back as an assistant for a game. Yeah it's the NC but come on. That would put so much doubt in his leadership. Don't you think he's gonna bust his balls to get to a championship as a head coach, and not fall back as an assistant? <_<

  8. Met him at Popeyes on west O '83. My sisters worked there, and we stopped in. He was sitting there by himself eating some chicken. I was 11 at the time. I was in awe. Heres the guy I want to play for when I'm older. Went up and said hello, and he was a nice as could be. I don't remember what was all said, but he is a good man.

Used to go to a church at the time and Husker players would go there too. Like Stan Parker, Turner Gill, Tom Rathman. Hard to listen in church when their sitting there and your a 10 year old boy dreaming of being them. Now I dream of being like the real PLAYER. :)

  9. Bamafan,

Having moved from Nebraska to Alabama and marrying into a Bama crazed family, I know exactly what you are talking about. There are a lot of similarities. Of course there are high expectations, just like the Snake said. Anyway, great post!

BeachBuffs, Do you live in the Mobile area? I passed a vehicle that was "Buffed Out" the other day. Might have been you.

On a side note, does anyone else living elsewhere notice how many Husker fans are roaming around this country? My wife and I see people all over Mobile with Husker tags or stickers. Its amazing. I've made a scene many times when I've seen someone with Nebraska gear or vehicle stuff....I actually had an experience like the ESPN commercial when I was trying to get my license plate. I tried several different combos, but settled for UNL FAN. The size of our fanbase really is amazing.

Go Big Red and Roll Tide!

PS...I'll look for a link, but if you've ever seen or experienced the bama crowd singing about "We just beat the hell outta you...." its awesome. Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer Give 'em Hell Alabama!!

For me it was a move from Nebraska to Georgia. Yeah the Husker nation is everywhere. See alot of people with Husker stuff. Especially on Saturdays. Pisses these hillbilly pupdawgs off!!!!!!

    :bonez:woo:restore

  10. They say this cr@p to ruffle feathers and have something to talk about. They have a certian amount of time to fill with their doped up thoughts. Why do you think the 6 oclock news keeps going back to the weather. Filler.

Soon they will eat there words, and jump on the Husker bandwagon once again!!
