I was at the FFDP show last night in Omaha (Which kicked A$$ by the way)and during the show the lead singer mentions that his drummer is a huge Big Red fan (everyone screamed). Then later in the show, the drummer stood up and got on the mic and said his lead singer was a Buffs fan (everyone booed). Then the band came back out and they started a heavy metal "F&%@ the Buffs" chant....

 

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I got a kick out of it!

Anyting is possible. Look at CU beating OU last year. No one expected that. If we establish the running game early, knock the living crap out of Chase Daniel, and often and keep the Mizzou Offense off the feild we have a pretty good shot. My prediction is that Lucky breaks the slump and rushes for 150+ yards.GBR

Depends on the situation to me. As for the current situation, I say Helu. Why not, based on the current rotation we should see all three backs in turn. Maybe the loss of his starting spot will "light a fire under his ass" (Lucky).

I still believe though that Lucky will be a key part of our offense. And as for Castille, where is the big man I wanna see some mizzou guys get their sh#t rocked (As for mendoza, that is a good question, he has some serious wheels though )

I've posted on nearly every thread now...Nebraska will win. I've convinced myself of it (makes me feel batter)...and when I'm sure of something it happens. Be ready to yell your heads off everyone.

I'm tired of everyone bashing Lucky too. What in the world do you want from him? Do you want him to single handedly take over games? Sure it would be nice, but it just won't happen and it would help if our line did better, play calling..all that. Give it a rest, he had 1800 yards last season rush/rec on a bad team...and you all act like he's a little girl. Whatever dudes...

A lot of the kats on here hold it against him that recruiting sites rated him a 5 Star even though he had nothing to do with that. NOTE: Some are the same dudes that say Stars mean nothing.

During Tuesday's press conference, Husker head coach Bo Pelini left it open that Roy Helu Jr. could "possibly" start at running back against Missouri.

 

"We'll find out on Saturday," Pelini said.

Hopefully the prospect of his starting spot, will make Lucky play better.

So it's time. Time to find out what this Husker team is really made of. Time to put up or shut up. For crying out loud your Nebraska, and the national pundits everywhere are saying MU will come into your house and beat you by two scores. What is up with that?

 

Here is the deal Husker fans. BE LOUD! Sounds simple right? It's going to take some "Husker magic", earth shattering crowd noise, and some nastyness on defense. But most importantly, BALL CONTROL. Ganz has to be patient. Take what the defense gives him (and trust me, MU will give alot) and be smart with the ball. No turnovers, and no 3 and outs. NU needs 12 play drives, plus some. Get the running game going and dink and dunk, keep Chase and those dopes in black off the field.

 

Do that and Nebraska CAN win this game. If MU turns it over 3 times like they did against Buffalo, there is no way they escape Lincoln with a win.

 

This board needs a wake up call. It seems depressing. Honestly! For crying out loud, if the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS CAN SLAP a 3-0 DENVER BRONCOS TEAM UPSIDE THE HEAD, then by god Nebraska can do the same. Memorial Stadium needs to be rocking~!! This crap is personal. The Nation needs to stop laying downa and saying "well, I hope we play good" and start saying "It's time for WAR". This MU team is all cocky, and thinking they own the North. Don't let them take YOU (The fans) out of this game. If they score quick, big deal. Don

t fall asleep, because that Missouri defense is worse than the experts think and it will be exploited. Write it down.

Give Lucky more carries and he will produce. 8 carries is not what you give to your starting running back. Everyone is complaining about Lucky and the running game, but we are not focusing on running the ball. I know we don't have the atheletes on the O-line, bt that still doesn't mean we should give our starting running back 8 carries. Give Lucky around 20 and Helu abot 10. Then you will start to see some running game.

Yeah, A running back needs to be in the game to get warmed up and establish himself. Helu is playing good no doubt, but when you put in lucky for a play, then substitute helu in. Getting going can be hard when your only in for 1-2 plays. More carries = more production. (Hopefully)

Here in KC there has been much said about Lucky's comment after the game the other day...He said "Missouri . . . they need to watch out, because we've got a lot of anger right now."

 

Not sure if he needs to give Mizzou more reason to play hard...plus he needs to play better before he talks.

 

I doubt a harmless comment as that makes much difference. Most of that "bulletin board" material is over hyped. I doubt MU or Nebraska needs any additional reasons to get ready to play.

 

 

It's obviously been taken way out of context. It was during a VaTech post game interview, the anger comes from the dissapointing loss. Missouri just happens to be the team they play next and they are going to try to take their anger out on them, it was in no way a shot at Missouri, or talking smack.

it isn't a shot at missouri. I think it just means they will play hard.

Yeah, Lucky wants to play better (And I think he will). Saturday, we will see a Nebraska team come out and hit missouri in the mouth.

I agree that some people are absolutely freaking out for no reason. I'm not going to put a bunch of effort into this post because I've said it and read it a hundred times already. Some people need to calm down and give it some time already.

I hear alot of people questioning why we don't run the ball more, and I agree somewhat. HERE is exactly what I have a problem with.

 

1st and 10: rush up the middle for 4 yds

2nd and 6: rush up the middle for 4 yds

3rd and 2: weird screen pass? completely busted up

4th and 2: punt

 

What's wrong with that picture? WHY OH WHY OH WHY did you rush it up the middle twice for 8 yds only to try a tricky pass play?

 

I think Watson gets a little too cute with his play calling somtimes. This may have been during scripted plays, anyone know? It seems these things happen more early in the game than later. Result of desperation, adjustments, or do we just need to scrap the scriped plays? This may very well explain why we have gotten to off to slow starts in every game this season.
