  1. Now I know most of you want this season to be over and just look forward to next year witha new coach as long as its not Callahan. But I was looking through schedules and bowl tie-ins and I found out this.

-If we get two teams into BCS Bowls from the Big 12, we get 9 bowl tie-ins instead of 8.

Next week...say we win, Colorado has Iowa State...they could lose to Iowa State...considering it is at Iowa State...say Colorado loses.

That puts us and Colorado playing for a bowl spot at 5-6 and 5-6....and whoever wins...will probably get the invite.

So now you think that is the only way....kansas state is 5-4 right now...but there schedule doesnt get any easier....they go to nebraska(which is us) play against missouri on k states turf and then go to Fresno State at the end of the season...they could lose all three of those...I no they will lose at least 2...because here is Fresnos schedule...and my cousin lives in Fresno, California and says their crowd gets roudy:

    09/01 Sac St W 24-3

    09/08 at #23 Texas A&M L 47-45

    09/15 at #19 Oregon L 52-21

    09/29 La Tech W 17-6

    10/06 at Nevada W 49-41

    10/13 at Idaho W 37-24

    10/20 San Jose St W 30-0

    10/26 Boise St L 34-21

    11/03 Utah St W 38-27

    11/10 at #14 Hawaii 11:05 PM

    11/24 Kansas St TBD

11/30 at New Mexico St 8:00 PM

They happen to look like a pretty good football team. So even if Colorado wins next week and K State loses...and we beat Colorado and end up 6-6 and so do they....K-State could very easily end up 5-7...Just look at this Colorado and Kansas State could both end up 5-7...without much happening....and that would book us a bowl bid down in Shreveport...which is better than nothing...2 bad wed get the living sh#t kicked out of us by a SEC team.

Well hope you understood all of this since its kinda close together...but just thot I would let you know..and the chances of the BCS having two Big 12 schools in their bowls could happen... Kansas wins out and Oklahoma wins out...and Oklahoma beats Kansas...I'm pretty sure they would both stay in the Top 12...maybe even Top 10....

    Go Big REd :sarcasm

  2. I am 14 years old and sadly one of my friends from club baseball passed away after a strong fight with cancer on halloween. Well his funeral is today at 10a.m., and i am going. I played with him for 2 years then i quit club baseabll for financial purposes, well mostly i didnt like the coach. He played another year and than was diagnosed with cancer on the day of the iowa state game last year. It spread from his lungs to his bones and he slowly started to lose weight and deteriorate. I will probably not be able to watcht any of the game today unless it is taped.

This made me realize that football is not that important. Well it is actually very important, but not even close to as important as a life. When you guys are watching the game...think of me and how i would want to, but i want you to think about or pray for:

    Columbus resident, 14

Jacob Budler, age 14, of Columbus joined his grandparents in heaven on

October 31, 2007 after a strong fight against cancer. Funeral Services are

10:00 am Saturday, November 3 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in

Columbus. Visitation is Friday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at McKown

Funeral Home in Columbus and continues from 2-5 pm at St. Bonaventure

Catholic Church. There will be a Vigil service at 5:00 pm on Friday at St.

Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation continues Saturday morning from

8-9:30 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.

Jacob was born on July 12, 1993 in Columbus. He was in 8th grade at Columbus

Middle School where he was an honor student. Jacob was a member of St.

Bonaventure Catholic Church and attended religious education. He was

    confirmed on October 25, 2007.

Jacob was happiest when playing sports and competing, especially playing for

the Columbus Mariners baseball team as a pitcher and catcher. Jacob was also

involved in football, basketball, golf, wrestling, soccer, and most recently

tennis. Jacob approached every new sports season with the goal of having fun

and getting better. He always accomplished both.

During the past year Jacob continued to live life to the fullest. Through

Make-A-Wish Foundation, he attended the Final Four tournament in Atlanta and

visited his cousins in Georgia. He was guest coach of the day for the

Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team. Jacob's last year was made most special

by his many friends who continued to spend time with him.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Jeff and Ann Budler. Jacob had no

siblings, but had many cousins with whom he was very close and spent a great

deal of time. Jacob is also survived by many aunts and uncles including Mary

and David Morgan, Palisade, Colorado; Jane and Bob Patterson, Omaha,

Nebraska; Pat and Diane Budler, Kearney, Nebraska; Tom and Barb Budler,

York, Nebraska; Bill Budler and Barb Nordmeyer, Lincoln, Nebraska; Tony and

Diana Budler, Fordland, Missouri; Laurie and Phil Anderson, Aurora,

Nebraska; Mary Jo and Dave Rehm, Carrroll, Iowa; Dan Hoff and Paula Logston,

    York, Nebraska.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents Bernard and Pat Budler, and

Don and Darlene Hoff; and his uncle, Mike Hoff.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials which they will be

donating to youth sports organizations in Columbus.

Sadly i did not see him only but three times during his cancer treatment, but it was always a joy..please pray for him and for the huskers that they "both" will win 2day

  3. I just recently...this wedensaday has a friend wo i played with for 3 years in club baseball die from a long battle with cancer...I quit baseball 2 years ago and hadnt really seen him since...but since i was part of the team i am going...problem is funeral is at 10a.m. 2morrow...now people are going somewhere to watch the taped game?...any suggestions on how i can watch the game and possibly not no the ending until after watching the taped one...it's just i never had to deal with a friends death on gameday

  4. I have a halloween dilemma...my high shcool football team is playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs wedensay night...and i am 14....freshman...freshman are off team now since were in playoffs...but i want to get some candy...now i no you guys are mostly middle age....but would you rather go watch a high school football game...or go get some free candy with all your best friends?

  5. my poll last week was

    Will Nebraska beat Texas?

    Yes- 17 Votes

    No- 92 Votes

I was one stupid enough to vote yes....well i felt smart for the 1st 3 quarters...but lets beat some jayhawk ass...onto my next poll :bonez

  6. We played our hearts...out...probably would have had a chance at the end of we tackle charles at end of game and on 3rd down. But Callahan got 2 conservative....There is two plays I look back on...On 3rd and 10 when we were up 17-3...we had purify run an out route for 12 yards and he was pretty much open...and he dropped it...if he catches it we take control of game...and they should have had 2nd and 11 before that challenge...i no they ended up getting the 1st down, but they would have called a different play...because it went from 2nd and 11 to 1st and 10...then after the int on our part....we dint do anything and we were at texas's 40.....2 conservative....we earned some respect back...this texas team is a good team and we played our hearts out...but we couldnt beat a team with a pocket passer...so what makes you think we'll beat kansas with the spread and kansas state with josh freeman....ALL COACHES MUST BE FIRED!
