  1. I agree with this. We won the game with green at QB. And the seven points "He" gave up was Watson trying to force that damn screen he is so adamit (Spell check?) about, that has caused us nothing but trouble.

Green changed the play at the line of scrimmage after he totally misread the defense, then he processed to throw a duck after staring down his receiver the whole time. That play is not on Watson. It is easier for some to blame Watson though. <_<

Is it really a screen pass if the receiver is 5 yards down field? Could have sworn that was an out route that Cooper was running on that play. <_<

When Lee screws up, it's Lee's fault. When the RB's or WR's fumble/don't catch balls that are in their hands, it's also Lee's fault.

    get with the program

  2. I'm not worried about him being a great one. Just better than Zac.

Then you should be really really worried.

I think that overall he is better than Lee. So far. Lee seemed rattled in his last 2 starts. We couldn't simply manage the offense against Tech and ISU and win so I doubt that'll work with OU.

Zac would not have made that pass either, it was a perfect job by baylor to pick that one off and take it back.

    $.02

You're right, Lee would have thrown it BEHIND the line of scrimmage **COUGH** Texas Tech **COUGH**

  3. I think CG will start, but if and this is what I heard if CG isn't getting the job done by halftime Lee will start the 2nd half. It was Bo Pelini's decision last week to start Green, not Watson's. Watson wanted Lee to start but since Bo is the HC, Bo overrode Watson on the decision. Me personally, I think CG is being rushed and not being given ample time to develop as a player. I think we will see both QB's on Saturday.

Just out of curiosity and not to prod at you, but how do you know it was Bo's decision? Did he come right out and say he decided on it?

And BTW to those who said we turned to the future and the future isn't getting it done, you are basing your opinion off of what? One game on the road in a guy's first start? Here is some perspective...

In Robert Griffin's first start against Wake Forest, he pased for 125 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions. Ran the ball 11 times for 29 yards. Even though WF was ranked #23, they weren't a great team last year. They were a pretty below average team that had one good win over a then ranked #24 FSU team.

It is too early to start saying this kid can't get it done.

If my memory serves, the announcers on Versus said that Bo had made the decision Saturday morning. Am I correct, did anyone else catch it?

  4. Somebody sure thinks so since the line is 5 & falling.

I was thinking about that yesterday...the only thing I can come up with, living in Nevada, is that the people betting on Nebraska are betting on their memories of what the old rivalry was. They obviously haven't watched the offense on this football team. Take OU and give the points...trust me, bet the house.

I know that a lot of people will systematically play the home dog especially in big rivalries, but I have to agree with you.

I keep looking for ways that we are going to stay in this game, and I keep coming up blank.

I am going to this game (first of the year) and I would love nothing more than to witness the upset, but I'm going to be a realist and realize that the odds are not in our favor. I made the mistake of being over confident at the Big 12 Championship against Oklahoma a few years back. All I came out of Arrowhead with was dissapointment and frostbite.

  5. I find it interesting that they are still telling everyone that they haven't decided on a QB for this Saturday. For example...

Junior Zac Lee, who had started the first seven games, did not play a snap against Baylor. But Watson wasn’t about to take Tuesday’s session with reporters to announce anyone as a starter against Oklahoma.

“They have to earn it in practice this week,” the coach said, even leaving the door open that both quarterbacks could be called on.

“That’s not outside the realm of possibility,” Watson said. “We’ll see how this week goes in practice and what our best combination would be. And if that’s one, we’d consider that.”

    However, Watson said this...

Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson has usually viewed games from the press box. But on Saturday against Baylor, with Cody Green making his first start, he called the offense from the sideline so that he could be closer and directly communicate with Green.

Watson said that will continue this week. Green certainly won’t mind.

Does anyone else think that Watson said in a round about way that Cody will start Saturday? I understand wanting to make sure that they are always going to have their players compete for playing time but I would like them to committ to one QB, a Mr. Cody Green.

  6. I totally agree, he is a player.

I also agree about injuries not being mentioned by the staff. I guess it really is none of our business.

Not just that but per the privacy act (and NCAA I believe) the coach is not aloud to give "specific" injury updates without the players consent.

  7. Maybe we should be having a testicular cancer awareness day. Maybe then, we'll learn to hang onto our balls better.

I have testicles. This response is classless. :nutz

Go with the balloons, not everyone will wear pink shirts, cuz a lot of husker fans are too old to know how to run the internet and get informed about this.

    Good idea :clap

  8. He's 6'5 seems like he'd make a better tight end. I am always skeptical of white wide receivers but whatever I guess... last year's white boys could catch and hold on, unlike this year's receiver group. What the hell do I know.

    True :dumdum
