  1. I've lost a very good friend to a drunk driver and I am 13 years sober from some significant substance abuse problems. Some of you live is a very black and white world, may work for you but isn't aligned with reality for most of us.

    1. I know lots of drunks/ addicts that are the most intelligent and talented people. They are amazing at what they do but at some point things come apart.

    2. It is very possible he could be a great coach, teacher and mentor of young men and still be battling his own demons behind the scenes.

    3. The dates of the previous DUI's, and Riley's comments could imply that he is someone that got his life together and has now relapsed. Who knows how long ago that relapse started? It usually takes a while until something bad happens so maybe he's been drinking again for a while.

    4. For someone with real drinking/ drug problems there is no consequence strong enough to get you to stop, that is how bad drug and drinking problems work. There is also no excuse for relapsing once you've put time together. The job pressure is an excuse, as is any other excuse- although excuses are a great skill of the addict/ alcoholic.

    5. I could see great benefit to a very strict plan of recovery, and earning back trust. It could b a great teaching moment as well but if the university gets rid of him- well he earned it.

    6. There is nothing about keeping him that makes 'us' look bad as the decisions of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team have nothing to do with my life, my integrity, my self-esteem, or my reputation. Yours either, knuckleheads.

    7. Our football program has plenty of social blemishes including many that happened under during the tenure of Saint TO. Once again, delusional knuckleheads.

    8. Bo was fired for his behavior AND bc/ he lost too many big games. If he was in the top 10 every year he could've called me a C*** everyday of the year. It's true for most of you as well whether you admit it or not.

    9. DUI is serious and he could've killed someone but he didn't so that doesn't apply here.

    10. The same rules do not apply to everybody. Yep, that is all.

    11. I feel for his family, and his WR's.

    12. Most of you are lying about how many times you have driven drunk.

    Great post.

  2. As someone that is in recovery I see both sides. We all are just one bad decision away from impacting several lives, not just our own. It is understandable if the University decides to let him go. There is a big part of me that hopes KW stays and gets some help. I don't know his story outside of his affiliation as a coach, but anytime a substance effects your life and the lives of others this way, you have to have some safeguards in place. I pray that this will be a life changing experience for him. This can be a turning point for him and can be used to show others that no one is above reproach but that people are going to support him and help him through this.

  3. I also have to wonder if there may some sort of element of racism deeply imbedded in all of this 'string him up' mentality as many of your were ones defending Frank Solich who did the very same thing.

Come on man, really? The majority of the posts I've seen all contained some kind of referee to KW getting the help he needs. Your looking to agitate people.

I'm surprised that everyone is quick to say he should lose his job. In the real world this might happen if driving was a requirement of the job, but in not many other circumstances that I'm aware of. Poor judgement - yes. Needs help - yes. Gets fired - seems a pretty dramatic move to me.

How does he recruit if he cant drive ?

Too many lives lost. The public and innocent victims need to be protected.

Although cabs, uber and lyft are evidently a foreign concept to KW, he can use those or a GA can tag along to do the driving.

If and I said IF he keeps his job I am sure that there will be some mandatory rehab in his near future.

  5. I don't think there as any scenario where he can keep is job. That said, where would NU look for a new WR coach? Is there a GA on staff now that could do it?

I think he can keep his job. There is no requirement at this job for him to have to drive. That being said it does make me wonder what impact it will have on recruiting.

Maybe, just maybe this will be the catalyst to get him some real help.

Bankers D is also Narduzzis D. You know. Ghe one we all drool over.

And Cosgroves D wasnt half this bad his first 4 games. The defense carried the team to their wins that first year.

Where is the disconnect coming from Narduzzi's results and ours? Is it just a talent issue or is there something we are doing differently than what Narduzzi coaches at a fundamental level? Asking in general as I am not well versed in the X and O strategy of a defense. If it is not just talent what things need to be tweaked so we can generate more pressure and start defending the pass at least moderately well?
game 4 in a night and day new scheme vs an established system and culture into its umpteenth years.

Uhm. Michigan is also into game 4 of a new scheme too. They don't seem to have these problems. Game one or two is an anomaly. Game 4 is a pattern and the staff needs to get it fixed.

  7. I live here in Arkansas. After watching the play this season I wouldn't mind BB. They play tough, disciplined football. They easily could have won 3 -4 more games against good opponents.

I don't think he will leave, but he is not as bad as folks make him out to be.
