  1. 1. So they posed for a gay website. BFD.

    2. They may or may not be gay. BFD.

    3. They made some money off of the situation. Good for them.

    4. They are grown men who made the decision to model for that site. So what.

In watching this story, and reading the subsequent posts, I am saddened beyond belief...

What's even worse is the disgusting and all too typical straight male hypocrisy contained herein.

If two of Nebraska's volleyball players posed on a gay site which catered to lesbians probably not one of you would have a problem with that. In fact you guys would probably find it to be incredibly hot and an immense turn on.

And huzkerbob, you are so lucky I can't tell you via this site what I really think of you.

It may turn us on, but most of us would have a problem with two of our student athletes that would whore themselves out, by masterbating on film for money. It does not shed a good light on the University at all.

Husker Jen, I know you are a lesbian, and I'm sorry if my post's came across as homophobic.

  2. No way KU beats two from Texas, Texas Tech or Oklahoma. I don't see a win there at all. No matter how improved you are on DEF, you still gave up nearly 50 points a game to these three teams, and two of those games were at home. You play Tech and the Horns on the road this year.

Kansas ended the season 89th in Total Defense and you're replacing all three linebackers. Yes, you have a solid D-Line and experience in the DEF backfield, but let's be honest here - two wins? Not happening, not with those offenses playing that defense.

how come your newcomers can improve your team, but ridiculous that our will help us?

Great, great question... but I'll be very surprised if you beat 2 of the 3 teams. It's possible this year...but I'll be surprised. My bet would go on KU beating OU and Tech. Texas is too stout this year.

You're crazy. Gerald McCoy and company will pound reesing all day long, just like Suh will.

Because you are Kansas...j/k sort of

  4. Yes he did. He came up to help his brother finally move in....

    Green on coaches:

"I know coach Brown because he was the one who recruited my brother," Green said. "He was just joking around and trying to tackle me. Coach Sanders, he and him were chasing me around trying to tackle me and stuff. They were just playing around. Usually that's not what you see in coaches, but that's just them being themselves and having fun. I like that."

It sounds to me like he will be extremely hard to recruit. He likes the idea of playing with his brother but it's not a necessity. He might head to OU and USC to check them out this summer. I wouldn't count him as 'N' by all means.

From what you reported, it does not sound like he will be extremely hard to recruit at all. One of the main factors in a kid commiting is the relationship they have with the coaches.

he is very close to his brother

he has a strong Christian faith( who better to recruit him then Coach Brown)

he has seen game day atmosphere in Lincoln.

You are right though, its way to early to count him N.

  5. My take:

Nebraska - Unproven QB and WR's prevent me from picking NU to win the North. No question the defense looked great against Clemson. OTOH, Clemson isn't a pass happy, spread offense.

    This.

And clemson finished the year 4-5

Do some research before you post. After the Bowden mess that started the season, Clemson finished 7-6, including 3-1 over their last 4. Not to mention a 31-14 ass kicking of in state rival and SCC team South Carolina.

Clemson would have destroyed KU if they had played in a bowl game.

    http://clemson.scout.com/3/fbschedule.html#2008

back at ya, what i said is absolutely correct. Clemson would have destroyed KU? The same clemson that was 4-4 in the ACC?? are you kidding me? VT said the same thing before the OB in 07/08.

Oh i see, 4-5 in the ACC. Come on jayhawker, you know as well as I do that you guys were no where as good last year as the year before. VT and Clemson would have moped the feild with you last year.

  6. hes not coming to nebraska, i wrote him a message on myspace. lol i know hes not, hes a cocky guy, wants to go somewhere big, not a "corn-only" place.. . we can forget about him, no use in wasting out time

Are you tring to get the Huskers an NCAA violation you are not to contact possible recruits.

    :yeah

Message from the Nebraska Athletic Department Compliance Staff:

On behalf of the University of Nebraska student-athletes, we are so thankful to have your support as we continue to build championship teams in every sport.

Because of the ease in which people communicate online with each other today, we thought an educational message is appropriate to clear up any confusion that exists about contacting recruits.

NCAA rules and regulations are complex to say the least, but one area that is completely straightforward is fan communication with recruits. If any fans, boosters, alumni (or any other supporters) of Nebraska has any contact (e.g., in-person, instant message, text message, e-mail, fax, etc.) whatsoever with a recruit there are could be serious consequences such as:

    The University of Nebraska would have an NCAA violation to report to the NCAA enforcement staff;

The recruit would become ineligible to participate in athletics at Nebraska, and before any of our coaches could continue to contact the recruit, we would have to rule him/her ineligible and then seek reinstatement through the NCAA office; and

The fan/booster/alumni involved could jeopardize their standing with the University of Nebraska athletic department.

We know that fans of Nebraska are the most dedicated and supportive in the country so please if you have any questions about NCAA rules, contact our office at anytime at 402.472.2042 or e-mail compliance@huskers.com

Thank you for helping Nebraska Athletics stand by our building blocks of TRADITION, TEAMWORK, and INTEGRITY.

    Josh White

    Director of Compliance

    University of Nebraska

I know the NCAA is pretty serious about this stuff, but truthfully, how can the University be blamed for some person they have no idea about contacting a recruit. If they can get into trouble so easily for this then I am soon to become a OU and UT fan and contact their recruits to get the school in trouble. Really, the NCAA is just trying to weed out any cheating, but to a casual fan who doesn't follow recruiting that close, they would have no idea about this rule. It's really just there to keep the boosters away from forking out cash. Per this rule, when a recruit is seen at a game and people yell their name out of the crowd that would be wrong. Just really a stupid, overly detailed rule. JMHO

:yeah i can't begin to express how stupid this rule is. What if you are a NU fan, and you teach a Husker recruit in school? I'm coaching swimming at Keeston Terry h.s this year, and there is a good chance I will run in to him at some point. So am I not supposed to introduce myself, and tell him I'm from Lincoln?

  8. We will be selective at running back this year, and we should shoot for one of the big boys. IMO people are putting too much into Aaron Green committing here next year. Yes, I know he wants to play with big brother, but that is something that probably every younger sibling has thought or said at one point in the recruiting process. Chris Whaley said it, Gabe Lynneven said it at one time, but then the "hometown" school comes rolling up to the door and offers and it's c-ya, and that "hometown" school is one of the big boys. A bad season or game(ie see Lynn) can also chase off a "legacy."

I'd love to get Aaron Green, but let's not count the eggs til they hatch to see what we have.

In that case, JORDAN JAMES for Class of 2010 Running Back :woo:woo:woo

Good point. I'm one of the ones guilty of counting this egg before its hatched.

  9. Green is going to the Texas camp on June 14. He told rivals that no one really stands out as a favorite right now...

He will be a Husker when its all said and done. The kid is a junior to be, and he wants to be recruited by all the big boys just like all the best players do.

  10. From the tigers article it does sound like he wants to be at LSU but is willing to look out of state. Hope the kid sees the light and chooses the team who did have faith in his abilities and becomes a cornhusker.

Best of luck to the young man either way.

We already got our QB. We might take Robinson as an athlete though.

  11. I won't give my North prediction at this time. However, I will not be choosing a team that plans to start a Junior QB that has only thrown 2 career passes in college.

I know you arent talking about Nebraska because counting JUCO he has thrown more than two career passes. ;)

We had the National Juco offensive player of the year at RB, and he did very, very little for us last year...

    Oh, and it will be

KU - Best offense, most returning talent. Biggest obstacle is schedule, some more new O-linemen and replacing LBs

NU - Good overall, but secondary and new QB will hurt, pluce play KU in Lawrence

MU - Just lost a lot of good, experienced players.

CU - I see continuous improvement, it is just taking longer than expected

KSU - Snyder's teams were not that good whne he retired, and the talent has dropped

ISU - Brand new Head Coach without a lot f talent. THis is a hard one to call, but the situation lends itself to not a lot of wins....

Yeah, most juco RB's never do well in their first year, because the speed of the defenses are so much better in D-1. Zac Lee played in a very competitve leauge in california, and has been in our system for 2 years now, so I really expect him to start off as well as Ganz did. But he is a much more talented QB than Ganz overall. We will just have to wait and see. Our running backs are much better than KU's, so that will take alot of pressure off him.

  12. 2009 BIG 12 NORTH PRESEASON FORECAST

    1. Nebraska ... Suh and the Blackshirts are set to dominate again

    2. Kansas... Still a solid team with Reesing

    3. Kansas State ... Snyder can still coach

T-4. Missouri ...Can't recruit in their own state

T-4. Colorado ... Hawkins finally starts to make his mark

    6. Iowa State ... They can move the ball, but couldn't stop a D-III team

    Thoughts?

Yes. Nebraska is #1 and which ever team finishes 2nd is merely the first loser.

Jen, I only have one question. Can I watch? ;)

  13. ESPN gives him a 74. They also have tape and say:

Wilson is a solid two way player as a wideout and defensive back. He is tall and physically impressive. A big target as a receiver; natural height makes him easy to go to for the quarterback. Possesses very sure hands and can jump to get even higher to make him even more of an offensive weapon. Shows the ability to run short, intermediate and deep routes with equal ability and doesn't mind taking a hit after the reception. Not a speed wideout but a true possession receiver that is the go to guy. Fade route in the red zone should be golden. More.

Sorry, I always seem to zoom in on that kind of thing - but what the hell is un-natural height?

growth hormone injections as a child? :dunno

    Thoughts?

Finishing tied for 4th in the Big 12 North, is making your mark? And no way K-State finishes 3rd, the cuboards are totally bare there.

  15. Sure it's bad he missed his court date.. unacceptable... But really, it isn't like it's a big charge... Know for a fact the kids done worse things and not gotten in trouble.

    like what?

don't expand on that though!!! we have no business talking about their personal lives on here.... only bad things can come of it!

i wont expand in public forum like this for sure... Especially when that guy JUST joined....

however.. what happened was in public also, just not public info through the law..

LMAO... yeah the guy is a spy for the NCAA, wating for you to post some rumor that he can report on.

  16. Evidently his uncle knows Taylor Martinez's parents and they said good things. He's looking to camp here this summer. Carl is on point for him. Says folks are looking at him as a DE or TE

    got carl?

:clap Oh man, I just laughed pretty hard thinking about that video. I need to dig that out and watch it again today!

The basis of my user name! For anyone reading this who doesn't know about it, here you go: http://www.cornnation.com/2008/9/27/623073...trust-carlfense

thats why it sucks living out of state, you miss stuff like that. That was freakin classic. You just never saw any of the old staff having fun like that. It was all NFL( No Fun League)

  17. It's got to be Misery for me, because of their cocky fans. They got lucky when a couple of their 2 and 3 stars recruits really panned out, but they are gone now!

Guess they also lost a couple recruits to poor academics. I can't believe that they are STOOPSing so low to try to remain competitive in the North!

NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS 2009 BIG 12 NORTH CHAMPIONS!

    :restore

Its no surprise to any of us that went to the Big 8 basketball tourny back in the day, that Missouri fans would be a-holes once they got a taste of success in football. So I'm really looking for some payback, and you watch how quickly they jump off the bandwagon, and wallow in their past bad luck on the football feild( the catch, and the 5th down) once again.

I don't know where you are going with the academic casualties though, as every school has that problem.

  18. That's besides the point, I still can't figure out which direction this staff/Watson wants to go regarding the type of QB they want?? OR which direction they want the offense to go?? WCO, Spread, Spread option based running attack, I guess they just call it the Nebraska O, whatever that is.

It's really not as complicated as you are making it...

The offensive staff, read OC Shawn Watson, wants a QB that is quick / fast enough to elude the rush and buy time in the pocket to find an open receiver downfield. In seeking out this kind of QB they realize that there will be times that the QB will have to take off and run. All they are looking for are QB's that can buy time or take off and run and turn a "bad" play into a good one.

Oh Jen... you're just so smart... are you single?

No...I'm not single...I'm very happy with my girlfriend...but thank you.

So thats why you post pictures of hot chicks in you're signiture. You just dashed the hope's of huskerboard, of finding a single straight chick that knows football.
