  1. None of you have ever been to a Chiefs game apparently. They've disrespected the anthem for more than 25 years by chanting over the brave. And no one cares. People complaining need to get a grip.

  2. I'm a little surprised to see no one mentioning the part about former staff members trying to sabotage the athletic department leadership. But I suppose that topic has been beaten to death around here.

"It appears some former employees were working to sabotage rather than support the efforts of the leadership and staff of this department. Behavior described during the interview process by the interviewees themselves strongly suggests that, in some cases, this was happening."

  3. Forget rankings, he's the Davenport Heating & Cooling All Star Player of the Week! (with the video to prove it)

More video from the same site of 200+ yard rushing game.

Dang, he's looking pretty good. With 200 yards rushing as a reciever he looks like he is already doing some of the things he'd be asked to do in our offense.

  4. I have a hard time believing that their will be a sell out this year. The curiosity factor isn't there like it was last year. It would be fantastic if we could make it happen though. As far as a "streak" - the spring game isn't included in the consecutive sellout streak, or we wouldn't have the streak where it is now.

But if you mean starting a consecutive sellout streak of spring games - hey, I am all for it. That would speak loudly to any recruits that would come.

Why won't we sell it out? They had already sold 66,000 or something already a few weeks ago.

A perfect fit for Thug U.

I hope he likes riding the bus.

It's not really that big of a deal... I assume we don't fly when we play in Manhattan or Lawrence.

Lawrence is like 200 miles. Miami's closest conference opponent (Florida State) is 480 miles.

The article didn't say they would be driving to play Florida State. It said they would drive to play Central Florida and South Florida, drives of between 3 and 4 hours. I was just pointing out it wasn't a dramatic change and doesn't mean the kid will be riding the bus to every game.

  6. Doubtful.

Kiffin has the best assistants money can buy. OTOH, we were nowhere in the same universe to assembling the same team of assistants that Tennessee has. Monte Kiffin, Lance Thompson, Ed Orgeron, Jim Chaney, etc., is a fantastic staff of coaches and recruiters.

It really reminds me of the old Oklahoma staff Bob Stoops had when Mark Mangino, Mike Stoops, Chuck Long and those guys were apart of his staff.

I agree, I can't see how they won't be at least mildly successful if not competitive for the SEC title very soon. That staff is STACKED.

  7. He is kinda right, to an extent. We have a lot of question marks to replace a team that got killed in Norman.

Agreed. I'm not sure why you're getting too upset about his comments...We got absolutely smoked by them and put up points when the game was already well out of reach. We haven't earned OU's respect by any means. In the games that were probably recently noticed by an OU fan, we basically lucked out and beat a bad Colorado team and barely beat a disappointing Clemson team in our bowl game. I can't blame the guy at all....I'm not saying we don't have the potential to give them a run for their money with the home field advantage, but there are a lot of questions to be answered and a lot of people are going to need to step up.

  8. IMO, Sanchez was a bust. I can't believe he's listed so high on early draft boards. He had 5 turnovers in one game. They won the game like 35-0, but it was because of stellar D rather than his ability. They lost to Oregon State because well he just isn't that good. Pete needs to find him a QB. It has cost him at least 2 NC's. Booty wasn't very good and Sanchez isn't very good.

I know, I'm afraid the Cheifs will pull the trigger on Sanchez <_< . I like him better than Stafford, but there aren't any drool worthy QB's in this years draft.

  9. I was a little young to fully understand the talent of LP, but just a quick glimpse at some of the youtube clips is just jaw dropping. If he hadn't been such a tard and had all of his issues, he may have ended up being not only the best RB in Husker History, but in CFB history period. I can't think of a single running back in recent years that could pull off the things he could.

  10. I'm not bashing the kid when I say with an attitude like that, we're probably better off. He's afraid to compete against other freshmen. We have no use for him. Kansas can have him. Competition is something every person on that team is going to have to get used to and quickly. His decommitment doesn't matter. I said the same thing about the LB Goldston when he was quoted as saying he was worried about the walk-on situation at LB. What the hell kind of a star athlete is afraid of walk-ons?

Haha exactly, really these kids who complain about competition are just proving their worth as a recruit. It really puts off the impression that they want a starting spot handed to them on a silver platter. They probably spent 4 years in highschool getting all the PT they can handle without having to push themselves and hate the idea of actually having to outwork someone. Do you think that any of the husker legends were afraid of competition? Especially when it comes to our D-line legends, those MOFO's got the job because they had absolutely zero quit and worked their tail off everyday. IMO the d-line is probably more about work ethic than any other defensive position, you cannot ride on your talent alone.

  11. If they are that big into education, and he wants to please them and truly wants to do the best thing for anyone (get his education !!!!....can never take that away)......... he could always work on his degree in the off-season, or after career...... If you have a chance to step right out of college and put millions of $$$ in the bank, compared to a degree, which can be attained at any time and AGE, he would be smart IMO to take the $$$ while it is there.

If he blows a knee or pulls a Herian, then he stuck with a degree, yes, but that degree, will probably never give him the financial security or advantage that he will get immediately.

Listen, I am a teacher for goodness sake, so I value education more than most, but if a kid gets a chance to put $$$ in the bank for him and his family.....go for it !!! Take a look around a college campus, a ton of "non-traditional" students (30's - 40's) and if he is only lacking a semester or so, easy to pick up..

As a football fan, obvioulsy I want him to stay, but put the goggles aside, and put yourself in his situation, and ask what would you do?

:yeah Thank you! Pretty much what I was going to say. I can never get mad at a kid for taking the opprotunity to make millions of dollars. In the current economy, these type of opprotunities are VERY limited. Like every Husker fan, I really hope he sticks around, but if not I'll definitely continue to cheer for him on Sundays!

  12. He's a real crazy energetic guy...ive seen him at Lazlo's with some recruits before, and you can tell he makes an impression.

Really? He seems very quiet and introverted from the few times I've seen him. Sounds like you're describing Ekeler, cuz that guy's a psycho. I mean that in a good way, of course.

yeah to bad we could put some of his personality in his extended family...i'm looking at you bo (ruud).

Am I missing something? What do you mean by this?
