  1. I am a Husker fan. I also write sports for a newspaper.

    And, with that in mind.

    I HATE FALL CAMP.

Reporters ask lame questions, repetitive questions and more questions just to be asking questions. There is no news. A ton of coach speak and, when reporters get particularly annoying with their queries, there is the cold dead stare of a coach, followed by a no comment or a shake of the head.

Face it. There is NO NEWS.

Fine, open up the start of some practices or photos and videos, but that should be it.

Let NU's sport information guys put out the injury reports. They won't matter until game week anyway. And shut it with the feature angles. Leave the players alone so they can focus and prepare for the coming season. Leave the coaches alone for the same reason.

In my view, there should be a camp opening press conference....then radio silence until the Monday of game week.

By game week, there would be news. We would know where guys like Starling were playing. We would have a more definite depth chart. Coaches would talk more openly about the progress of players. The features wouldn't be as forced.

We wouldn't have reporters tweeting about injuries before the families of the players involved knew their kid was injured. We wouldn't have reporters asking lame and forced questions because they have to in order to file a story for a non-eventful Tuesday practice.

    I agree.

  2. What do you guys think of all the new rules (ex.targeting) in College Football? For me, its taking a lot of the excitement out of the game. Big hits, forget about it, more like a 15 yard penalty. For me, It is B.S. I just feel like something needs to be done so football isn't ruined forever.

For example, Bo's locker room speech about putting the N under the opponents chin, the first thought that goes through my head is "That will be 15 yards". Its seem that certain people want football to be a glorified tennis match. Whats everyone else's thoughts? What can be done? or am I just overreacting? Or will it be better in the Big 10?

  3. Hopefully somebody on here can answer this question. I bought a Sony STR-DH510 5.1-Channel Stereo AV Receiver. Not the best receiver out on the market but it was in my price range. When watching Dish Network the receiver displays that it is receiving Dolby Digital 3/2/1 when available and sounds great. Which I believe means that 3 front speakers 2 surround and 1 sub woofer. Now when playing a Blu ray disc the receiver displays LPCM 48. Am I not getting True HD DTS or is the Blu-ray player decoding the information and sending it as Linear PCM 48HZ to the receiver. I am not extremely knowledgeable about this stuff but thought maybe somebody would have an answer.

    Thanks in advance

what's your connections running from the Blu-ray player to your receiver?

LPCM is just a method of encoding the audio. It can be used to encode both two channel or multi channel audio. It all depends on the source and the cabling you're using. And by source...you'll need a Blu-ray disc that has DTS-HD encoding on it.

I am using HDMI in to the Sony receiver from the Blu ray same with Dish. Then HDMI out from the receiver to the TV. Its seem to always display LPCM 48 whether the Blu ray has DTS-HD encoding on it or not.

  5. From what I saw in the stadium Gilleylens catch should have been a TD he caught two feet in bounds down to the ground then the defender ripped it out.

No it wasn't a catch. The receiver must maintain possession of the ball to the ground even if he is out of bounds. This is the same as Kinnie's non TD catch in the CCG last year.

  6. I have been to every Big 12 stadium but yesterday was brutal at ISU. These fans did not understand the concept of good football. If I was a ISU alumni, I would be have been embarrassed listening to the guys sitting around us.

The guy next to me yelled Lawerence Phillips and convicts the entire game, and he wanted a personal foul called on every tackle. He must have forgot that football is a contact sport. The guy behind me yelled Cheaters every time a flag was thrown on NU and every time he thought a flag should have been thrown which was every play. Every time I would look back at him he would say "What are looking at?, Sit down". This guy was a pu&&y, and I chose to keep my mouth closed because we all know the saying about arguing with an idiot. Then the guy in front of me yelled T-magic sucks every play and he wasnt even playing in the game. And another guy in front of me spent the whole game with two arms in the air flipping off the Nebraska section. What am I leaving out? A lot. Why can't people understand the difference between cheering for you team and cheering against the other team. When Nebraska scores, I know my first reaction isn't to look for the closest ISU fan to rub it in their face.

I know there are these type of fans everywhere (including Nebraska) but finding a logically ISU fan was few and far between.

  7. I was more surprised with the kneel down in the 4th quarter. I would've given my offense a shot with the wind at our backs. Couple big pass plays, with 3 timeouts, and they are in field goal range with that wind. Scary how close we were to losing that game.

Did anybody else see the two interceptions that were thrown by Arnaud earlier in the half? If we pick off the ball, game over with Henery on the sidelines. I thought it was a good decision by Rhodes considering our pass defense and kicker. But, I guess overtime didn't work out for them either.

  8. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH ..........HOW DID THAT SCOREBOARD LOOK..............

And that, my friends, is the difference between classy Nebraska fans and Texas fans like gat.

do me a favor, when you get injured let me know so i can come back and boo.

You are going to admit that Texas wasn't purposely laying down every time Nebraska had some momentum on offense. That was low by Mack Brown. Every player that was supposedly injured was back in on the next couple of plays.

  9. The Pay per view will replay Monday at 11:00 on FSNMW

AM or PM? I dont think I am going to the bar to watch this one. I just am not really excited for this game which is weird. I actually feel sorry for SDSU, I just hope no one gets seriously injured.

  10. Looks like there are tickets still available for the Husker vs Kansas State throught the Kansas St. Ticket office. It's an away game for this last and final tour of the conference. For many, including UNL Students it's a short drive to Manhatten. It's going to be a televised Thursday night game. How great it would be to make the place a home game for the Huskers?

    Let's paint the place Red.

Here is the link: Kansas State Ticket Office

    Pass the word!

    Just ordered 4 tickets.

  11. I saw him at 12:30 today and i didn't see a cast or anything. maybe i missed it though.....

I broke a couple bones in my hand in high school and was given a cast that slides on the side of the hand. I didnt wear it all the time.

So he may not need a cast.
